Nala stumbled out of Scars den weak and covered in scratch marks. Sarafina her mother gided her over to a small clearing away from the den, Nala flopped down on the ground all of her will power draining slowly. Sarafina started to clean up her daughters wounds a worried look in her eyes.

"What did he do now?"She asked for this was not the first time in the short month that she came back like this.

Nala raised her head slowly tears streaming down her face."He was very angry that I am still not with his heir." Sarafina expression went from sad to angry when she heard this."When will he see that you are to young to bear cubs.On my little one these are dark times and no place for cubs." She said looking at the den Nala just came from.Scar emerged from the den looking around for his queen, and when he saw Nala on the ground he padded over to her and shouldered Sarafina aside and licked Nala's ear, Nala winched.

"Nala go in my den to sleep its getting late you know."He ordered smiling knowing that his queen would obey. Nala sighed and stood up and rubbed her muzzle under Scars, as he ordered to be done any time she was to leave him, then she padded into the den that they shared.Later Scar padded in and curled up around her and slept, Nala rested her head on his shoulder wondering when this would end.

 A few months later Nala was siting on a lege looking out on the dry and lifeless land that she was to rule beside Scar, or to give a heir to rule it and her to please Scar.Suddenly she felt a kick in her side, Nala sat up in shock and fear."No.....No, no this can't be so.No!"She whispered then ran to her mother telling her about what she had felt not seeing Scar by a tree watching her."Mother I think I am..I am with cubs." Nala said panting, Sarafina gasped her eyes widening with horror. She looked at Nala's belly and indeed it was larger than it should be.

"Finally my queen is with my heir."Scar said, Nala wiped her head around not seeign him till now."Well done my Nala."Then he rested his head on hers, Nala felt a sinking feeling in her belly I will protect these cubs so that they never get the throne of Scar she thought deteremend.
