Soiled Spaghetti

A white cat with pink eyes brushed against Fiddleford's legs. "Ah swearw." He cleared his throat. "I swear, Stanley, this cat is bound to contaminate some of the DNA samples. Who knows what will happen?"
"Depending on which traits take, our test subject will be more cat-like. Plus with that logic, some of the DNA samples are bound to contaminate the cat. Also, his name's Shifter." Stan said, grinning a bit.
"You're awfully laid back 'fer someone who knowrs." He clears his throat. "For someone who knows their brother is the test subject."
The bigger scientist shrugged. "He'll be fine."
"Also that cat is a she."
Lee smirked and shook his head. "I'd think I'd know what gender my lab cat is.

"Shifter! Move!" Stanford yelled at the cat brushing his rock-scabbed legs, the feline running back to it's hiding spot. He sighed when he still felt something brushing against his legs. "Fidds, that means you too. If you're not going to help, go back to 'yer mat."
The half-feline jumped up to his 'feet' and pushed up his glasses. He cleared his throat. "Y-yeah, sorry." He got back to observing DNA samples and finding out how to revert them back to human.
The rocky-skinned twin sighed when he seen his brother working on a plate of vegetables, covered in a pile of garbage and blankets, still refusing to help. "Come on, Lee. Just help us you're the one who can probably fix this within a week I mean, we've already wasted that much time."
Stanford's arms and legs were covered in rocky scabs and his horns were much bigger, meanwhile his wings were growing painfully. Not to mention fangs. Fiddleford's legs were furry like the color of his hair and his feet were starting to mutate disturbingly. His was starting to grow a tail as well. Stanley, however was seemingly going down a different path. Though still growing what seemed to be horns, nothing else was really developing. Other than his laziness of course.
"When Fidds gets us more food." Lee groaned, leaning into his pile of garbage.
Fiddleford sighed. "I'll come back soon."
"Also, good job with your speech work. Not that there was anything wrong with it before." Lee said before his friend left.
Ford growled. "Lee! He's the only one who's actually helping!" He yelled when he was sure Fiddleford was outside.
Lee shrugged. "He's only going based on what I taught him a month ago. He didn't know anything about this field of science before that. He's also the most normal looking one out of all of us."
"Are you kidding? All you need is a good hat!" Ford yelled.
Lee put his head down, like he was trying to sleep. "You're acting like you can't hear me complaining about the growth pains."
"...growth? What? I haven't!" Ford yelled, clenching his fists.
"Stop yelling. Yes, all my whining wasn't just for snacks and stuff, I can't get up." Lee leaned into his hands.
"Why didn't you tell me? I feel terrible, you nerd." Stanford's been yelling at him constantly to get off his butt and work all week!
Lee smiled. "Exactly."
"And now I don't."
"Worth it."
Ford sighed.
Fiddleford came back with various vegetables and salted foods for Lee. While he was out, he had gotten a big bag of Greasy's burgers for he and Stan. "Break?" Fiddleford asked. Both Stans nodded at the same time. Fiddleford stiffened and he felt his hairs rise. "How do y'all do that so well?"
The twins looked at him with the same expression, at the same time. "Do what?" They asked.
He cleared his throat. "Nevermind."
"Fidds, guess what?" Ford said.
"What is it, Ford?" McGucket looked to his friend, cocking an eyebrow.
"This guy's been paralyzed the entire time! He didn't even bother to tell us or anything!" He said as he devoured a burger.
Fiddleford looked to the twin covered in blankets with a look that asked 'is this true?' As he ate and Lee shrugged. "It's more like growth pains making me feel like I'm in a pile of pins and needles."
"I have an idea." Ford wiped the grease off his hands on his pants as he got up and pulled a desk closer to his brother.
"Ford! By golly be careful! That water could have permanent effects! Not to mention our tampering with it." Fidd said, voice cracking and high due to his nervousness.
A container chrashed to the floor, along with a bunch of liquid. When he looked he could she Shifter running into his bed. "Whoops." But the table was fine, so the Stans were okay with it.
"Guys!" Fiddleford tried to walk to the mess, but tripped. Luckily no where near the infectious water. He groaned. "...Ford?"
Stanford rolled his eyes and went to grab a mop.
"Fidds, are you alright?" Lee asked.
Fiddleford groaned and ripped off his shoes, arching his back in pain and he shook his head as pushed himself with his feet until he hit a wall. He stopped and directed his attention to the elevator, where both nerds heard a scream.
"Ford, you okay?" Lee yelled.
Ford's response was a tear in the ceiling as his head popped out, looking at his brother and friend. "Guys! Check out my eyes!"
Both looked at his glowing eyes. "Looking good, bro!" Lee smiled. He leaned close to a shocked Fidds. "He's definitely going to need glasses after this."
"Nice paws, you crazy cat monster." Ford smirked, dropping down with a mop. Fiddleford yelped. He had paws on his feet. The paws were his feet. Both Stans laughed. "Speaking of paws; Bro, can you move yet?"
Lee shook his head. "I mean, not my legs obviously, but I could probably work now." He moved a bit of the garbage to lean closer to the table.

"How long until you're done, Lee? I need outside."
Fiddleford pawed at Shifter; who pawed back. Shifter licked his face and he blushed.
"Fidds, stop flirting with the cat." Lee mumbled distractedly.
Fiddleford jumped up on his paws. "I'm not flirting with her. She's just telling me that she's ill."
Before their 'Fluvius Flu', as they're calling it, really kicked in he had to get as much food as he could to last them at least a month. It's been that long and luckily they still have plenty of brown meat and canned beans left.
It's excelled quickly though and Lee is no longer paralyzed. He's a bit worried on how he's going to change back. His legs split and grew into a deer body. They looked into it and as it turns out they migrate around Gravity Falls during the late fall, making their way a bit more south. His horns ended up being antlers and he could work with his night vision while everyone else was sleeping.
They also learned that Shifter's DNA actually did get a very very small portion of the water contaminated. Heince Fidd's feline legs and behaviour.
Ford however was just unexplainable.
"Sure she is, Fidds. Who wants to test it first?" Lee asked.
"Shouldn't we use a test subject?" Fiddleford asked a bit nervously.
Lee smirked. "Shifter~ 'cmere girl." He called.
Fidds panicked and scooped up Shifter in his arms and stroked her back as he gave a purr-like growl. Ford even seen him whispering into and kissing her ear.
"Give that ere nerd." Ford presented his open hand for his brother to put some kind of medication into. He got sprayed with water. "Hey!"
Lee laughed. "There you go, Ford."
Fiddleford jumped up to the hole in the ceiling and scampered away with Shifter in his arms.
Lee frowned at the hole and straightened his glasses. He sprayed himself. "That was unexpected."
"Think he'll be back?"
Lee was silent for a moment. "Probably... he left his banjo."
