The Doberman watched the Shepherd tell the newcomers about the Mutants, well, they weren't newcomers anymore and they had heard the story about the Mutants but since the recent attack on one of their own, Zorn was reminding them. He tried listening to Zorn but all Ebb's attention was focused on one very special Collie x Husky mix. The one with orangey-red fur, the one slightly more orange than his mother, the one... with green eyes. Samus. Ebb smiled. The other dog had no idea Ebb was stealing glances at him. Samus' sister broke away from the group and trotted over to Ebb. "Hello Ebb!" She said. Ebb blinked.

"Oh hi, Saturn," he replied. Saturn grinned. Ebb rolled his eyes. Anyone could see the younger dog had a lot of energy. Even though she was an adult. "Is there a reason you came to see me?" Saturn's expression changed, and Ebb felt a slight twinge of fear. The brown husky mix's face was as sly as a fox, and her blue gaze was full of mischief. Her grin had transformed into a smirk.

"Only to see why you're staring at my brother." Her words shot through him. Crap! He swore in his head. She caught me! "Well?" Ebb felt himself blush and he stood up quickly. He turned and trotted off. "Hey! C'mere! You know, it's a mistake to run away from me!" To emphasize her point, Saturn ran after him and tackled him to the ground. Ebb stared at her, amazed she could pin him to the ground. "Well?" Saturn repeated. "Why were you staring at him?" Ebb didn't answer and glanced at Samus who was now talking to Crimson, his mother. Saturn followed his gaze and her blue eyes lit up even more. "Ooooh," she teased,"do you like him?" Ebb was confused.

"'Like' him? If you mean 'I have a crush on him' then, no." Saturn didn't look convinced.

"That's VERY specific," she commented. Ebb felt himself blush again. Saturn pushed her snout into his. "Are you sure about that?" Ebb nodded.

"Yes, I'm..... Sure..."

"Why the hesitation?"

"Oh just leave me alone, Saturn," he said, struggling himself free. "If I did I'd know." He left Saturn and walked deeper into the house's second floor. He settled himself on a rotting, looked like it used to be green couch and sighed. He watched the group from afar. He'd never felt like this before, not since... He stared at Samus and added to himself, "Saturn, I do know. I just don't want to get hurt again." He closed his eyes and tried to sleep.
