When you woke up one morning you felt a twinge of pain. You knew what it was and you woke up. Ulaz felt you wake up and he woke up. He was fully awake when he smelled your period.

"You've started your period." Ulaz said, stating the obvious.

"Y-yeah." You said awkwardly.

Ulaz let you get out of bed so that you could get a pad/tampon out of one of the bags. You quickly went to the bathroom that was across the hallway so that you could put the pad/tampon on/in. Thankfully, you caught it just in time. When you got back to you and Ulaz' room you saw him getting the painkillers he made out of his satchel.

"Here." Ulaz said, handing you the little sack.

"Thanks." You said, taking the sack and opening it.

Ever since Ulaz made a more effective painkiller for your cramps. You took some and handed the sack back to him. Ulaz put the sack and put it back into his satchel. After you swallowed the painkillers you got back onto the bed.

"Here, so you won't have to get up." Ulaz said as he gave you your candy and a bottle of water.

"Thanks." You whimpered as you felt a cramp.

"I'm sorry that I can't stay with you this time. I need to talk to Kolivian. I promise to be back later." Ulaz said, nuzzling you.

"It's fine. I'll see you later." You said, hugging him.

After a few moments you let go of Ulaz so that he could get dressed. You watched him leave once he was fully dressed. You hoped that everything would go well for him.

When Ulaz walked into the observation deck he looked outside and saw that the Paladins had found the Blade of Marmora main headquarters. He refused to show his nervousness.

"Is that a black hole?" Hunk asked in shock.

"No, it's two black holes and a giant blue star." Ulaz said, gaining everyone's attention.

"That's not any better." Hunk exclaimed.

"No kidding. Just inside a black hole the temperature is one millionth of a degree above zero. But, just outside of that, it's hundreds of millions of degrees Celsius." Pidge said.

"Okay, it's like when you try to nuke a frozen burrito in the microwave, and it comes out all scorching hot on the outside, but it's still frozen in the middle, right?" Hunk asked.

"Now I'm hungry for lunch!" Lance said, his stomach grumbling a little.

"Guys, quiet! Ulaz, where's the base located?" Keith as Ulaz, standing up.

"In between those three deadly celestial objects." Ulaz told Keith.

"The perfect defensive position." Pidge said in awe.

"Or the perfect trap." Allura spat, glaring at Ulaz.

"Okay, I'm with Allura. Maybe we shouldn't, like, go in there at all?" Hunk asked nervously.

"What are you talking about? We have to go in! This is the whole reason we came out here! There is no other option." Keith said, wanting to go.

"Okay. Jeez. Calm down." Lance said, gesturing for Keith to calm down.

"Identify yourself." A computer voice suddenly said, startling everyone except Ulaz.

"Open a hailing frequency, Coran." Shiro told Coran.

"We are the Paladins of Voltron, brought here by Ulaz." Shiro said.

Everyone, including Ulaz, stood there and stared at the screen that popped up. None of the Paladins were sure what to think at the moment. Allura was still very doubtful as everyone waited.

"Three may enter. Come unarmed." The computer said.

"Why would they insist we come unarmed? Shiro, this doesn't feel right." Allura told Shiro.

"We've come too far to turn back now." Shiro told Allura.

"They just sent us a route to the base, but we'll have to move quickly. Because of the solar flares, it's only open for another varga. Then, it will be closed for two quintants." Coran announced.

"They're gonna close it for two years?" Hunk asked in shock.

"Two days." Pidge told Hunk.

"So, any thoughts on who's gonna join you on this little mission? I'm thinking things might get a little hot, so you're gonna want someone who can stay cool." Lance said, a cocky smirk on his face.

"You're right. Keith, you and Ulaz coming with me." Shiro said, looking at Keith.

"Wha—? Keith's a hothead! He's probably going to shoot first and ask questions later! And they're not gonna be able to answer his questions because they'll be dead!" Lance said, leaning closer to Shiro and staring him down.

"We haven't yet severed Zarkon's link with the Black Lion, so it has to stay here. "And the Red Lion can withstand the heat from that sun. And Ulaz has to report back to Kolivian. So, yes, it'll be Ulaz and Keith." Shiro told Lance.

"The course to the base will be quite treacherous, to say the least. You're walking a razor's edge between the gravitational pull of the black holes and the sun. One false move, and you'll either be crushed into infinity or burnt to a crisp." Coran told Shiro and Keith.

Ulaz wasn't paying attention to Shiro and Keith as the red lion flew to the Blade of Marmora headquarters. He was pulled out of his thoughts when they were almost sucked into a black hole. When they landed his mask appeared.

"Great job! That was close." Shiro told Keith.

"There's nothing here. This place just looks like a plain asteroid." Keith said, looking around.

Both Paladins were startled when a rumbling noise erupted from the ground. Ulaz watched as Antok and another Blade were brought up on the elevator. Keith and Shiro stared at the two larger Blades, not sure if they could trust them. Keith, Shiro and Ulaz got onto the elevator and were brought to the main room. They all walked forward once the elevator stopped.

"I am Kolivian, leader of the Blade of Marmora." Kolivian said, standing perfectly still.

"My name is Shiro, and this is Keith. We are Paladins of Voltron." Shiro told Kolivian.

"I know who you are. However, I wasn't expecting Ulaz to be with you." Kolivian said, not moving from his position.

"Leader, I have much to discuss with you." Ulaz said, not removing his mask yet.

"I know. As for the Paladins, you were told to come unarmed." Kolivian said with a hint of disappointment in his voice.

"You also told us to identify ourselves. The lions are about as close as we come to an ID." Keith said, clearly offended.

"If anything happens, believe me, you'll be happy you have the Red Lion and two Paladins on your side." Shiro told Kolivian.

"I imagine we would. However, I wasn't referring to your beast." Kolivian stated.

Antok suddenly tackled Keith to the ground, startling Shiro. Keith yelled as Antok practically sat on him. Ulaz just stood there, knowing what this was about. He had his suspicions that Keith was Krolia's kit.

"Keith!" Shiro yelled, trying to help his team mate but being stopped by the other buff Blade.

"He has one of our Blades. Who did you steal this from?" Antok asked Keith, picking up the small blade.

"I didn't steal it, I've had it my entire life." Keith told Antok, trying to look up at him.

"Lies!" Antok said, accusing Keith of lying.

"Can you corroborate your friend's statement? Does this blade truly belong to him?" Kolivian asked Shiro.

"I... I don't know." Shiro said, unsure of what to say.

"Shiro, you know me. I promise you I didn't steal it. I've had this knife as long as I can remember." Keith begged Shiro.

"We can't trust them." Antok growled, pushing Keith down.

"I'm telling the truth. Ulaz has a knife like this. Tell me what it means." Keith said, looking up at Kolivian.

"Our organization is built on secrecy and trust. You two should leave. Now. Ulaz, you need to report to me." Kolivian ordered.

Ulaz knew that Kolivian was in a bad mood. Antok got off of Keith, allowing the boy to stand up. Shiro walked over to him after the other Blade stepped aside.

"We came here to form an alliance, but obviously we're not welcome. Come on, Keith, we're leaving." Shiro said sternly, looking at Keith.

"Not without some answers. Somehow, one of your knives ended up with me on planet Earth. Tell me how." Keith said stubbornly.

"Your friend is right. It is time for you to go." Kolivian told Keith.

"Where did it come from? I have to know." Keith asked, not giving up.

"You seek knowledge? There is only one way to attain knowledge here." Kolivian told Keith.

"How?! I'll do it!" Keith said, willing to do anything.

"The trials of Marmora. Should you survive, you may keep the blade and its secrets will be revealed." Kolivian replied, thinking that Keith would chicken out.

"Survive? Keith, this is crazy. If they're not going to help us, let's get out of here." Shiro told Keith, wanting to leave.

"I'm not going anywhere. I have to do this." Keith said, knowing he had to do this.

"Antok, give the boy the blade." Kolivian told Antok.

"We will meet again." Antok growled lowly, giving Keith his blade back.

"Can't wait." Keith said, narrowing his eyes at the large half breed.

"These trials result in one of two things: Knowledge, or death." Kolivian told Keith before one of the other Blades took him to the first training deck to get ready.

Ulaz knew that Keith wouldn't give up. While Keith went with the other Blade Shiro, Antok and Ulaz followed Kolivian to the observation room.

After Keith completed the trials and proved that the Blade was his, he and Shiro were taken to the lounge. Ulaz followed Kolivian to his office, ready to tell his leader about everything that happened. Kolivian sat at his desk and Ulaz sat in a chair. Once they were settled they removed their masks.

"You broke protocol. I need to know why." Kolivian said sternly.

"Forgive me, leader. I needed to rescue Shiro from the Empire. I knew that we could use the Paladins' help in this war. I have also rescued another human. Her name is Y/n. Thace and I have been helping her since she was captured. I would like to request that I stay with her and the Paladins until further notice." Ulaz told Kolivian.

Kolivian quietly hummed, thinking about what Ulaz told him. He decided that it would be best if Ulaz stayed with the Paladins.

"Very well, I will allow it." Kolivian told Ulaz.

"Thank you, leader." Ulaz said, lowering his head a little.

As soon as Shiro, Keith, Kolivian and Ulaz got back to the castle Ulaz excused himself. He removed his mask before entering his and your shared bedroom. When he walked in he saw that you were watching something and crying.

"What's wrong, Y/n?" Ulaz asked you as he got on the bed.

"N-nothing. How did it go?" You asked him, turning your holopad off.

"Kolivian is allowing me to stay here until further notice." Ulaz told you, a slight smile on his face.

"Good. I was worried that you wouldn't come back." You said, more tears spilling down your face.

Ulaz purred and nuzzled you, knowing that your hormones were going crazy. Each time you had your period he made sure to be there for you. When Thace was around he would get a little over protective of you. After a while you followed Ulaz so that you could meet Kolivian.

Thace sat in a chair in Haggar's lair because he was getting questioned. Ever since Ulaz escaped with you and helped Shiro escape both Zarkon and Haggar knew that there was something fishy going on.

"I am going to ask you some questions. I will know if you lie. I have reason to believe a spy has infiltrated Galra Command." Haggar told Thace.

"That is very alarming." Thace said, keeping a straight face.

"Indeed. Are you aware of any spies within our ranks? Haggar asked Thace.

"No." Thace replied.

"Commander Thace, are you the one who lowered the solar barrier during the Voltron attack allowing it to escape?" Haggar asked, holding up one of her hands and a ball of dark magic appearing.

"No. I fight in the name of Galra. I am loyal to Zarkon." Thace told Haggar.

"You will help me root out this traitor. We will destroy him and all who threaten our reign." Haggar said as she lowered her hand, turned around and left.

Thace got up and left her lair. Once he was back in his habsuite he couldn't help but wonder if you and Ulaz were alive and well. He needed to come up with something quick before he was found out.
