You were now thirty weeks pregnant. Today, you were in a little bit of pain. You thought it was because your babies were kicking around harder than before, but you didn't know the real reason. Thace and Ulaz were currently taking a short break from helping the Garrison build a particle barrier.

"Y/n, is something wrong?" Thace asked you.

"I'm fine. They're just kicking harder than normal." You said, wincing in pain.

"They are half Galra. They might be tiny, but they're going to be strong." Ulaz told you.

"I- I guess. But it really hurts." You grunted.

Both Thace and Ulaz were worried about you. It had been a few weeks since your last checkup. Right as Thace was going to say something a big boom sounded and everything shook violently.

"All personnel, proceed to your command stations immediately." Someone over the PA system said as an alarm blared loudly.

You screamed loudly in pain. You felt a wetness in between your legs. Ulaz and Thace smelled the slight blood scent coming from you.

"I- I think I'm in labor!" You said, clenching your teeth.

Thace went to open the door while Ulaz carefully picked you up. Ulaz rushed out of the apartment with Thace following close behind. When Thace and Ulaz entered the nurse's office he saw that it was empty. Ulaz carried you to the operation table and laid you on it. He grabbed the scanner that he left in the nurse's office and turned it on.

"Oh no." Ulaz said, seeing what was wrong.

"What? What's wrong?" You asked Ulaz nervously.

"Y/n, I'm going to need to perform an emergency C-section." Ulaz told you as he went to get ready.

You were beginning to panic as you watched him put an apron, a mask and gloves on. He gathered the right surgical tools while Thace got a few other things ready. Ulaz gave you a shot and you began to feel a little sleepy.

"Y/n, I need you just awake to feel this. I'm going to try and save you and our kits." Ulaz told you.

You were too sleepy from the drug to say anything, so you just nodded. Thace carefully removed your clothes so that things would be easier. You closed your eyes when Ulaz found the area that he was going to cut you open. You could feel the scalpel dig into you as Ulaz carefully cut you open. Thace had to look away for a moment as some of your blood spilled out of you.

"Okay, I'll drive." James said as he got in a Garrison vehicle.

"I’m coming with you. Name’s Veronica. I’m an analyst and your handler." Veronica said as she placed her hands on her hips.

"We don’t need a handler." James said, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Do you know how to get to the depot?" Veronica asked James.

"Well, no, but, you know, I’ll just use the guidance system." James replied awkwardly.

"That uses the world communication network. Which, oh yeah, these tunnels were designed to block. And Cadet Rizavi should drive. She has the highest marks with the AW-Cruiser." Veronica said with sass.

"I like her." Rizavi said as she smiled.

"Oh, and shotgun." Veronica said, glaring at James.

"I really like her." Rizavi said, her smile getting bigger.

The cadets got into the vehicle and Rizavi started driving. They all had to be careful not to attract attention from the Galra.

"Left here." Veronica said.

"All clear." Kinkade said, looking around from the roof of the vehicle.

Rizavi made a left and slowly drove through the tunnels. Soon she came to a fork in the road and stopped.

"Right. These tracks are a straight shot to the deposit." Veronica said as Rizavi went right.

"They left her in pretty good shape. I think we’ll have her running in under an hour." Rizavi said as she got out of the vehicle.

Veronica and the other cadets got to work on repairing the train and getting supplies loaded up. They had to be quick so that they wouldn't be caught.

"Griffin checking in. What’s your status?" James asked over the comms.

"Supplies are ninety-five percent loaded." Veronica said over the comms.

"Rizavi here. Almost done with repairs." Rizavi said over the comms.

James was about to say something, but then he saw two sentries. He wasn't expecting them to be in the tunnels so soon.

"We’ve got company, just south of the Cruiser." James whispered through his comm.

"Copy. On our way." Rizavi said over her comm.

As the sentries got closer the other cadets moved in. The cadets fired at the sentries, seeing that their weapons didn't have any effect on them. The sentries immediately started firing back. The cadets fired their weapons every chance they got.

"Our weapons have no effect on them!" James yelled.

"Go! Get the train running. I’ll hold them off." Veronica said as she set up a large gun and began firing at the sentries.

The other cadets began running back to the train. Veronica kept firing at the sentries until they were offline. Unfortunately, there were more sentries waiting in the shadows.

"You two get this thing started. Kinkade, you’re with me." James said, giving everyone their orders.

Rizavi and Ina went to go start the train. James and Ryan went to the back of the train to fire at the sentries. The sentries fired back.

"Train’s up and running. Let’s go." Rizavi said over the comms.

"Veronica, get in here! Veronica! What are you doing?" James called out to Veronica.

"Just go!" Veronica yelled as she fired at the sentries.

"We’re not gonna leave her. Stop the train. No!" James yelled as the sentries made part of the tunnel collapse.

Thace sat quietly in a chair and held a tiny blue bundle. After the emergency C-section Ulaz had stitched you up and cleaned up the blood. The heart monitor steadily beeped, signalling that you were alive. He had started up an NICU and put one of his sons and his daughter in it. They were alive and they were going to survive, but one of the baby boys didn't make it.

Thace frowned as he held his tiny doppelganger who was wrapped in a light blue blanket. Sendak's attack on the Garrison stopped while Ulaz was in the process of the C-section. By now, it had been about four or five hours since he made sure that you would live. You were breathing steadily as you slept.

"What are we going to tell her?" Thace quietly asked Ulaz.

"The truth. It's hard on all three of us… I wasn't expecting this to happen." Ulaz said, sadness welling up inside of him.

Ulaz placed a purple butterfly sticker on the NICU so that everyone would know that one of the triplets didn't make it. Thace and Ulaz looked at you when they heard you groan. Ulaz gave you painkillers so that you wouldn't be in much pain right away. He put some Galra disinfectant cream over your stitches and he put a hospital gown on you. Slowly, your eyes opened and you blinked a few times.

"Y/n, you're awake. How are you feeling?" Ulaz softly asked you.

"A little dizzy." You said, your voice a little groggy.

"That's normal. Y/n, there's something you need to know. This won't be easy to hear." Ulaz told you.

You looked around the room and saw Thace holding a tiny blue bundle. You looked around a little more and saw a NICU with two tiny babies in it. Then the purple butterfly sticker caught your attention.

"No… No, he can't be dead… This can't be happening..." You said, tears welling up in your eyes and spilling down your cheeks.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, del lusilbe. I tried my best to save him." Ulaz said, allowing himself to cry since he already cleaned himself up.

"Can… Can I see him?" You asked, tears spilling from your eyes.

Thace got up and walked over to the bed you were laying on. He handed you the blue blanket. You unwrapped it a little and saw that the tiny baby boy looked exactly like Thace, but was only slightly lighter in color. You sobbed loudly as you cradled him in your arms. Thace began crying as he watched you sobbing.

"He would have been as perfect as the other two. He looked exactly like you, Thace." You sobbed.

"What do you wish to name him? And what do you wish to do with him?" Ulaz quietly asked you.

"His name should be Thace Jr. And I want him cremated. We can find an urn to put him in." You said, finally able to say something.

Thace wiped his eyes as he cried more. You began sobbing again, holding your deceased son in your arms. After a while you rewrapped him and handed him back to Thace. When the nurse came in Thace handed the tiny blue bundle to her and told her the chosen name. Ulaz had already filled three birth certificates out. Ulaz handed you a tissue so that you could blow your nose.

You watched as the nurse took Thace Jr. to get cremated. After a few moments you looked over to the NICU to have a look at your other two babies. Your son was wearing a light blue hat and your daughter was wearing a light pink hat. You couldn't see them very well since they were surrounded by a soft blanket. You couldn't wait to finally hold your two remaining babies in your arms.
