My Opinion:

I know this ship is very popular and all plus it canon but, it's insanely overrated. It's been shown already that Kanao already love Tanjiro but Tanjiro doesn't, in fact the ship is one-sided until the literal end of the whole series. Literally all of Kanao's development revolves around Tanjiro and it's annoying because it shows that she still can't do anything on her own and she needs someone to guide her. He told her to follow her heart and every time she needs to make a decision or has some kind of development Tanjiro is the first thing she thinks of, not Kanae, not Aoi, not Shinobu and how proud she would be, Tanjiro. It's cute, sure but Tanjiro never acknowledged her feeling until the series was over. They never really got any kind of one on one moments in the series to show how they feel about each other (other than the coin and Tanjiro waking up scene) again until the end. I know that this isn't really that relevant but Mitsuri gave Tanjiro a whole nosebleed and Kanao has never even made him blush. And finally some of their fans are weird and make videos like 'Tanjiro reacting to Kanao's pregnancy' and I know you might think "well they're aged up?" No, their not. People make video's and draw pictures like that at their current age which is 15 and 16. Even people who ship this have to admit that's just gross and weird. (Btw I'm not saying people don't do that with all ships because they do, I just more commonly see it with TanKana) the extra two points is just cause it's cute.
