Here's just a small guide of things that will be used frequently in this book. As the book goes on, I will update the list!
"(F/N)? Are you OK..." Garroth asked you. Your eyes scanned the note, eyes filling with salty tears.
~~~
Dearest (F/N),
It's a pity your father left. A shame. You don't know who I am, but I know you. We set him up. He never left you on purpose. We've got him, and you will never find him. We'll know where you are, soon. Watch your back, (F/N) (L/N). Or... you'll be next.
Why am I sending this note? Believe me, you might want to hear this. You had a mother, until we all killed her. She didn't... agree to our standards, therefore, she was... eliminated. You were a wee 2 year old, completely innocent. It's a shame. She seemed nice... for you at least. You're lucky your alive now, you were supposed to did in the womb.
If you want to wear the key, you can. If you wish to see your father, that is. But, let's face it. We can't risk that. Your father... is a traitor, right?
Best of luck. You'll need it. ~*signature is smudged...*
"I... We need to leave."
"(F/N)..."
"Now. I'm sorry. I need to leave this place." You left the key, not wanting to do anything, or touch it. You opened the bag filled of clothes, and searched through it. There was nothing suspicious. You sighed, packing it.
"You're crying... I can't bare to see you like this. Please, is there something you need to..." You ran up to Garroth and hugged him. You needed a hug. Garroth hugged you back.
"I-I'm sorry..." You looked down. "I'm just upset, and confused."
"No, it's fine. We all have those moments. Do you need to... sit down for a bit?"
"I need to leave this place. We can stop somewhere else. Just, not here."
"I can lead if you want."
"All right. Thanks." You got on Kimi-Chan, who sensed your sadness, and rode softly. You appreciated the small gesture of sympathy, and Garroth found a lake halfway back. You both got off of the horses, and you both sat on a log.
"(F/N), I can tell you're not feeling great. You know, we may have just met, but you can tell me anything." Garroth looked at you, eyes barely visible from the helm.
"I know, I'm just... upset. The note... my parents... they were, never in my life. My mother died when I was 2, and my father, started drinking, and left me in a forest when I was 4. I've never had a place to call home, I never stayed in one place for more than a week. I've probably traveled a good amount on horse, and on my two feet. I'm not used to neighbors, or friends, or anything normal. If I wanted to read, I had to teach myself in village libraries. I had stacks of books, from dictionaries to novels to photo books, I had to teach myself how to fight, camp, collect, even mine. It's just, seeing this, and the memories of my family coming back, it hurts." You looked down.
"I'm so sorry (F/N). It must be hard going through events like that. I can't imagine. But, think on the bright side. You now have a lovely village you can call home. The rest of the village loves you, and your cheery upbeat personality. It has been needed for a while at our village. You have Lord Aphmau, and you have me." Garroth hugged you. You hugged back, relieved to have lost-awaited comfort. You may not have known what the man looked like, but you knew he had a heart, a kind one at that.
"Should we go? I feel a lot better of now."
"Whenever you're ready." Garroth replied. You got on Kimi-Chan, and the two of your rode the rest of the way home. You dropped off Kimi-Chan at Kawaii-Chan's, giving her another thank you, before going turning back to Garroth.
"Um, Garroth?"
"Yes?"
"Thanks. It means a lot to know that you're there. I'll let you know if anything else happens." you walked away, leaving Garroth. You went back to you cozy home, and unzipped the bag of clothes. It was around 8:45, so you took the time to quickly clean the clothes, and then slipped on a white blouse, a black pair of jeans, a pair of (F/C) Keds, and a (F/C) colored gemstone necklace. You combed out your hair, and by the time you were done, it was around 11:30. You heard a knock on the door, and answered it.
"Hey Laurence."
"U-Uh, hi...! Are you ready to go?" You looked at Laurence with confusion, then answered.
"Yeah! Let's go!"
"All right. So, I decided it would be cool to have a picnic, so I set up a place."
"That's very kind of you." You giggled, from Laurence's slight blush. He managed to blush even more at the giggle.
"But, the only thing, is. There's one way to get there."
"How?"
"On me!" he laughed.
"Wha... WHOA!" You gasped as Laurence picked you up bridal style. You laughed, asking him, "How can you carry me?"
"Magic." he winked. You rolled his eyes, and wrapped your arms around his neck, so that you wouldn't fall. Laurence chuckled, fast-walking as he carried you. "Hey, we're here!" he smiled. You looked ahead, and noticed a whole set-up. There was a blanket, and a cute basket, and it was on a hill.
"Aw, Laurence! You didn't have to do this!" You blushed.
"Yeah, I did. I would like to get you better." Laurence carried you to the blanket, gently setting you down. He sat next to you.
"I got some peach cakes from Kawaii-Chan, as well as things like sandwiches, sides, and stuff..."
"Thank you, Laurence. This is amazing." You smiled. He smiled, and the two of you talked for a bit. Laurence was originally the head guard of Meteli, but found comfort in Phoenix Drop.
"Where do you live here?"
"Well, I don't really have much of a home yet in Phoenix Drop, I stay at Lord Aphmau's home."
"Oh, you shouldn't have to. I mean, you helped me build my house. The least I can do is let you live there, until you are ready to get your own place."
"You don't have to..."
"After the amazing help you've been, of course. Plus, Aphmau already has enough on her hands, with Levin and being the Lord. Plus, you helped build the house. Don't you think you should stay in it too?"
"Aw, I wouldn't want to be a bother."
"No way do I think you're a bother. Out of all people. Believe me, Laurence. You're th complete opposite. For the couple of days I've known you, you've been extremely generous, kind, and an amazing person. So, the least I can do is thank you for helping me settle in."
"Thank you (F/N). It does mean a lot to me. So, moving on from there, what are your favorite hings to do?" You and Laurence talked for a long time, and before you both knew it, it was around 5:30.
"Wow, it's been so long, yet feels like a short time." You whispered, then slightly giggling after.
"Yeah, you're right. Well then, why don't we go over to Kawaii-Chan's and grab some dinner? Maybe she has a new thing to try!"
"That sounds wonderful." You smiled. The two of you(mostly Laurence) packed up the picnic, and dropped it off at your home, before going to Kawaii-Chan's. You opened the door, and found Kawaii-Chan making tons of foods, including sandwiches, sushi, and many other things.
"Kawaii-Chan knew there would be friends! Hello Laurence and (F/N!) Kawaii-Chan has been making a ton of food, because Kawaii-Chan wants to host a dinner for the village tonight!"
"Really?" You asked her.
"Yep! So, can (F/N) and Laurence spread the word? Kawaii-Chan would do it herself, but she's kind of busy."
"Of course we'll help." Laurence answered.
"Oh! Thank you!!! Kawaii-Chan will see you all at 7:00 then!" The two of you walked out, the scent of a restaurant clinging onto your clothes.
"So, who do we start with?"
"I guess the neighbors. Then, we can spread out and go different ways."
"Awesome. There's Cadenza right now." You walked over to Cadenza, and found yourself asking nearly everyone. As soon as you reached Aphmau's home, Laurence was already there, ready to enter.
"Oh, hey there (F/N). Who's coming?"
"Everyone I asked. How about you?"
"Same. Now, we just need to see if Zoey, Levin, and Aphmau are coming."
"Cool!" You both knocked on the door, Aphmau answering it.
"Oh! Hello there! Come on in!"
"Thanks Aphmau. Kawaii-Chan's hosting a dinner for the whole village tonight in about an hour. We were wondering if you, Zoey, and Levin wanted to join."
"How lovely! Of course! Zoey is downstairs if you want to ask her. Levin and I will definitely be there."
"Awesome!" You smiled. Laurence and you walked downstairs, and found Zoey playing with Levin.
"(F/N!)" Levin smiled. You giggled, as he ran over to hug you. Laurence chuckled, and Zoey awed.
"Hey there Levin!" You bent down to his height.
"Hi! Levin play games!"
"How fun!" Laurence was asking Zoey, who agreed, and Levin held your hand, taking you to his bundle of toys.
"Zoom zoom?"
"How about whirl?" you asked him, smirking.
"Whirl?" Levin tilted his head in confusion.
"Yep!" You caught him, and grabbed his hands. You turned around, Levin squealing in joy as he spun around. You stopped, setting him down.
"MORE MORE!"
"Maybe tomorrow. You have to get ready for dinner with me, Laurence and the village!"
"Yay! I sit with you?"
"Of course!" You smiled. Levin hugged your legs, before running to Zoey.
"I see you had quite the fun over there." Zoey smiled.
"Yep. We sure did. We'll have more fun at dinner tonight. We'll see you in an hour."
"Sounds great!" Zoey replied, picking up Levin. Laurence grabbed a set of PJs and an extra set of clothing, since he was staying in your guest room for the night. The two reached Kawaii-Chan's, who was in the process of making cake.
"You're back!" Kawaii-Chan smiled.
"Yeah, and we found that everyone in the village is attending tonight's dinner." Laurence replied.
"Really? Kawaii-Chan is so happy! Kawaii-Chan must finish this cake. Laurence and (F/N) should get ready! Kawaii-Chan will see you there!"
"All right. Be careful." You said, Laurence and you walking out of the cafe.
"So, do we have to dress fancy?"
"I might put on a skirt or simple dress. Just because." You answered.
"I don't think you need to change. You look lovely." You couldn't help but blush.
"Thanks. I guess we can set up your room. I already put furniture in all the rooms, so you'll have a bed. You'll use the guest bedroom next to my room."
"Great. Again, thank you (F/N)."
"Of course, Laurence." You smiled. The two of you helped you unpack some more, and the hour passed quickly.
"Ready to go?"
"Yeah." You answered.
"But before we go, I'll make this official. Would you like to be my acquaintance for this dinner?"
"That would be lovely." You giggled. Laurence linked his arm with yours, and the two of you walked over to the plaza.
When I saw Laurence sit next to (F/N), who also happened to be across from the table, I couldn't help but feel a slight pang of jealously. Wouldn't I have to take my helm off to eat? Something tells me I won't be on Laurence's good side after this dinner. If only she knew, that I had developed feelings for her. For (F/N).
