Detached: Kaminari x Reader
Zombie Apocalypse AU
I went so in detail this could've easily been a book. So keep the layout and important info of this x reader in mind cause I want to do more Apocalypse AU x Readers.
"Are you sure she's in there? Nobody goes in there anymore," Kirishima scratches his chin, noticing the old classroom door were open just by a crack. The doorknob were free of dust within recent use.
"Yeah she's in there," Kaminari reassured upon wrapping his forearm with a roll of discolored bandages. Midoriya stepped forward and caught Kaminari's hand.
"You really shouldn't go on the supply run today," the green haired boy told the blonde. "You've been overusing your quirk lately... Just look at your arm," Kaminari's yellow orbs stared at his forearm of scarred burnt flesh.
"Yeah..." Kirishima agreed. "Your quirk is almost quite literally cooking you."
"Then I won't use my quirk, problem solved!" Kaminari snickered. "Probably not the best thing to say but we're all going as a group today. I'm pretty sure one of you can protect me if I need it. Plus it was my idea to bring (Y/n) along since none of us can fly right?" Kirishima and Midoriya nodded lightly to Kaminari's valid point. Bad idea that Kaminari is a dead weight since he can't use his quirk, great idea though that he's the only one out of the entire school who can persuade you into going outside. "C'mon lets go wake her up," Kaminari waved his hand, pushing on the classroom door before stepping in. There you were peacefully sleeping.
Silence, just how you liked it. To be able to sleep without anyone or anything to threat your existence. Even with saying this, you slept with your head cradled in your arms in your assigned seat in class 1A. The rest of the classroom remained barren, dusty, decorated with cobwebs and families of overgrown spiders. Naps in the old classroom kept you, in a sense, sane. It reminded you of the days back when everything was bright, happy, safer than it was now in reminder that the past could be reality once again in time.
"Hey (Y/n), wakey wakey," Kaminari shook you back into consciousness. You yawned, cracking open an eye. You took notice that Kaminari, Kirishima, and Midoriya were all aligned together with flat spacious bags on their backs and hips.
You knew exactly what they wanted. "No..." You sighed.
"C'mon (Y/n) please," Kaminari slumped forwards.
"I'd kill myself before going out there..." You admit, burying yourself within the sleeves of your tattered flannel jacket. Your comment alone made the boys wonder if you've turned suicidal and were at a risk. They don't want to say goodbye to another friend.
Kaminari pets your backside comfortingly. "(Y/n)... We really need you for this supply run. We need medicines but the hospital's entrance is overrun with the dead. Cause..." Kaminari rolled up his sleeves to show off his new arm of bandages in which you rose your head and took in the sight. "Lots of us have some sort of flu, and I need medicines too."
"But... But why am I needed?" Kirishima were taken back that Kaminari had actually gotten to you in a sense. You haven't been this open in months.
"Cause you have wings and we don't," Kaminari just out and says with a snicker. "C'mon (Y/n) do it for me!"
"I want a few more people than just us going on this supply run. Got it?"
"You got it!" Kaminari out and hugged you right on the spot. You gasped, not being able to remember the last time you'd ever receive a hug. In which you finally returned the hug with tears in your eyes.
Kaminari with Midoriya's help persuaded a few more survivors into coming along for the hospital supply run. Todoroki couldn't say no to Midoriya, neither could Iida. Kaminari roped in Sero and that marked the completion of the group. Upon stepping outside of the academy, your stomach grew sick with a growing depression seeing what lies beyond the brick and steel walls of the Academy. Originally those walls were built for the purpose of keeping out quirkless individuals, newscasters, anyone who didn't attend the school so to speak and most importantly villains. Nowadays, the walls had only one purpose, to keep out the living dead. Yes, even in a superpowered society the dead outnumbered everyone. Most with quirks easily grew tired upon fighting the dead so now the use of quirks were next to useless since half of the time the dead came back no matter what measures would be taken.
With that being said, a tear had left your eyes catching glimpse of the many familiar faces beyond the walls. So many classmates and teachers had fallen to the ranks of the dead meanwhile the school were now home to heros, villains, and quirkless of all kinds. So many had fallen... Early on the class had to pay their respects to Tsu, Momo, Ashido, Aoyoma, Sato, Shoji, and Mineta. All Might too who were no match for the dead in his weakened state. We've almost lost Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugou on numerous occasions since they're a few who were willing to risk their lives for supply runs. Even some who were in neighboring classes fell like Monoma, Mei, Vlad King, 13, Midnight, even Recovery Girl didn't make it. That's why this medical supply run was so important.
So many of those we all dearly loved had fallen...
"Don't look at them (Y/n)," Kaminari puts a hand to your cheek and pushed it in the opposite direction. Just as he tried to take his hand away, you held it there with your own and resumed to cry.
"I can't handle their moaning..." You pressed hands to your ears to block out the sounds of the zombies moaning and groaning, scratching at the front gates in desperation to get their hands on some fresh meat.
Kaminari sighed, the noises the zombies made got to him on a normal basis as well. "Here, it helps me," a pair of cordless headphones were thrown atop your head, they were blaring with a song you faintly remember as a part of your favorite band. You held the headphones tightly to your ears, music, another thing that were lost to the apocalypse.
"Thank you Kaminari," you blushed so intensely you only thought the atmosphere got steamy hot, when really, that was just you. The entire group most importantly Kaminari found your beat red cheeks beyond adorable. Who knew such a detached teenage girl could feel human again with the aid of one blonde?
Thanks to Cementoss, there was a cement staircase and bridge that provided an easy escape route over the UA walls and above the hordes of zombies. The cement bridge only went so far, coming to an abrupt stop at a nearby skyscraper with no windows still in tact. This place... It was a war zone. There's corpses left and right, skeletons, debris of vehicles and buildings as well. Just, it really defines disaster...
You slipped the headphones from your ears upon having the hospital in sight. "So... What's the game plan?"
"The stronger members will try to infiltrate the ground floor entrance to get the medicines in the ER," Iida explained his master plan while scratching his chin deep in thought. You've never really thought about it before, but why does Iida keep wearing his square frame glasses if one of the lenses were shattered?
Sorry, getting off track. "What about me? What's my job?" Cause clearly the stronger members consisted of Todoroki, Midoriya, Iida himself, and maybe Kirishima depending on the job at hand.
"You and Sero will take Kaminari and take the safe route to the roof to grab whatever you can find on the higher levels. Sero can swing himself over using his quirk to get onto the roof and you can fly Kaminari over," you shrugged, that was a brilliant plan coming from Mr. Class Rep himself.
"Brilliant!" Sero gave the group a thumbs up with his signature smile.
"Let's get this show on the road!" Kaminari cheered, smacking a hard square on your back.
"Okay," you blushed like crazy again before turning to the rest of the group. "Be careful everyone... Don't bite off more than you can chew."
"Stay safe everyone," Midoriya flashed his heart warming smile that radiated for miles. Another thing to hold near and dear. The four boys went ahead to tackle on the main floor of the hospital. You looked around, making sure there wete no obstacles in the way of your quirk. The roof of the hospital had an old helicopter with open doors and blood spattered across the windshield. That meant only one thing as common sense kicked in as your orbs found a few zombies limping across the asphalt room. They must've been the former drivers of the helicopter...
"Lets take out the zombies as soon as possible..." You whimpered, activating your quirk as your legs extended, smooth skin to a hard as nails and striped every so often with two joints instead of one. Your arms transformed slowly into a pair of wings easily twice your height in length. Kaminari awed.
"Its been so long since the last time I saw this side of you (Y/n)," Kaminari admits with a shy smirk as he stepped over and embraced your waist with his head all cuddled within your breasts. You almost yelled at him for such a perverted act, yet it was inevitable.
"Sero... You ready?" You sighed, trying to resist the feeling of ripping Kaminari to shreds.
Sero tugged on his vine made of tape extending from his elbow to the roof of the hospital. "Ready as I'll ever be. Just waiting on you."
"Ready," you shrugged, flapping your grand wings to float above the ground. It took twice the effort taking into account of the extra load. Before long you were floating above the hospital with Sero reeling himself in like Tarzan on a vine! Immediately, the dead took notice of the living organisms and trudged their way over to where you landed. Kaminari unhinged himself from your side, whipping out a baseball bat from the doufle bag that hung from his neck. With one blow to the head, one zombie fell ... Well, officially dead. Two more zombies made way for you in particular. You used your talon feet to crush their skulls. Sero wrapped up a few zombies in tape before throwing them off the roof. Quite smart, it saves much of the effort. But the roof was clean!!!
You three charged into the hospital's highest levels, very little zombies were there to begin with. What zombies were there you knocked into a room before locking them in. "Hey Hey C'here!" Chanted Kaminari as his entire body sparked up with electricity to match his excitement. You and Sero gave each other mutual looks that meant nothing good before following the blonde to another room.
"Jackpot!!!" Kaminari kicked in a metal desk filled to the brim with prescription medications. Most of which you could never read if your life depended on it, but this was the holy grail of medicine!!!
"Nice one dude!" Sero smirked. "I'll go tape off the entrance just in case nore zombies show up."
"Good idea!" You gave him a thumbs up before helping Kaminari pack up and read the medications. "Blood pressure, pain killers, flu, its all here!" You eyes glistened with raw wonder.
"Good thing I found these-" you squeaked once Kaminari's bandaged hand brushed up against your own. Even in the darkest of light in this abandoned hospital, he could tell your cheeks were turning shades of crimson. From there left awkward, thick silence.
Once the bags were packed up with everything they could carry without breaking the zippers, they were thrown over the shoulder to rest at your backside for safe keeping. Sero was dumb and, yes, taped off entrance. It was a smart idea at the moment, but now it was one of the dumbest ideas in the universe since its nearly impossible to leave without triggering Sero's sticky trap. So, you pulled off Mission Impossible, ducking under the tape as if they were lazers on a security grid. Next came Kaminari, the toe to his boot tripped him ripping the tape from the walls and falling atop of you. Trapped. Your eyes were so large they could pop out of your head. Yet Kaminari's kept calm as he stared into them without a problem in the world.
"Forgive me for this," Kaminari leaned forwards, capturing your lips in a kiss that made your heart explode with fireworks more and more as each second passed. You never did kiss back, but you could hear Sero made disgusted noises in the background.
"You two do realize we're in zombie territory right? Make out back at the school..."
You pushed away on Kaminari's chest, just to realize he couldn't move as Sero's tape kept him taped to the spot. Unable to move. What an awkward situation right?
"Let's kick zombie ass together, what do you say?" Kaminari snickered.
"I can't say no, especially after that kiss..."
