Y/n sat in his office, he popped a pill in his mouth and downed it with some coffee. It was a few days after Tyrian's arrest and with it, Y/n was able to rest easy, right now he was waiting for Winter to come back so they could celebrate in private. He heard the door open revealing Winter, he smiled as he got up from his chair.

Y/n: "Hey babe, are you ready to-"

He then saw Winter with a serious look, Y/n's face changes in a look of concern.

Y/n: "Are you alright?"

Winter: "We need to talk..."

Y/n just looked in curiosity.

Y/n: "Why the serious face? Tyrian is imprisoned and Mantle is safe"

Winter: "That's what I wanted to talk about"

Y/n: "About Mantle? What's there to talk about?"

Winter took a deep breath of nervousness.

Winter: "I need your force to leave this department and go to Atlas under General Ironwood's orders"

Y/n: "What? No no I'm not going to do that"

Winter: "Y/n just listen to me"

Y/n: "No no no, first you were determined to make Mantle a better place and now you're trying to take away the one thing that is protecting it. Winter, I don't know what's going on but I'm not abandoning my home"

Winter: "Listen here, you will either come willingly..."

Winter then unsheathed her sword, making Inspector Chen pull out his pistol.

Winter: "...or I will take you by force"

Y/n gripped the gun in his hands with betrayal in his heart.

Y/n: "So everything you said from wanting to protect Mantle, to protect and love me...was that just some damn lie?!"

Winter: "No! Y/n please leave this city! I want to save you Y/n!"

Y/n: "No...you just want to follow orders"

Winter charged at the Inspector making Y/n unload at the Specialist.

-timeskip-

A bulkhead flew into an Atlas compound, the Ace Ops and Winter entered to see soldiers and guards knocked unconscious.

Clover: "Ten guards and five elite soldiers all highly-trained...yet all of them were beaten..."

Winter: "Check if anything was stolen, I'll see what could've possibly entered here and done all this"

Clover nodded as the Ace Ops moved into the facility, Winter checked on the soldiers. She noticed the cracks on one of the soldier's armor, she then noticed another thing above one of those cracks.

Winter: "Bootprints, three bootprints..."

She moved onto some others to see cracks on the armor and bruises on the soldiers mainly on the forearms, the wound seems to be of origin from blunt force.

Winter then moved onto the guards, the guards were shown to have stab and slash wounds on their bodies but not in vital areas. She also noticed every guard had inward cuts on the arm like if the user used the knife to bite and disarm the guards

She then realized who it was, the boot prints were from kicks, the blunt force was from a baton and the cuts were from a trained knife fighter. She then deduced the attacker.

Winter: "Y/n..."

Clover and the other Ace Ops came in.

Winter: "Clover, status"

Clover: "The dust and weapons are gone, Ma'am"

Harriet: "Who would have the nerve to raid a base in Atlas"

Winter: "Someone who has nothing to lose"

Winter then handed a CCTV picture of Y/n.

Winter: "This is the man that most definitely led the raid of this place, find him and apprehend him"

Ace Ops: "Yes Ma'am!"

-scene change-

Y/n rode his bike with three supply trucks behind him, after his fight with Winter, he swore that he would do what he must, that was to protect Mantle. He stopped at the station where the Commissioner, his daughter, and his old gang The Dragon Tiger Triad waited for them. He entered the station as the trucks were parked in front of the station.

Shen: "Good to see you alive"

Commissioner: "Thank you for your efforts"

Y/n brought one of the crates to the Commissioner and another to Wei Shen.

Y/n: "One is the box of food, water, blankets, and medical supplies..."

He then turned to Wei Shen.

Y/n: "That one is dust, ammunition, weapons, and explosives for defense"

Wei Shen opened the crate to see a crate of rifles, he picked one up and smirked at Y/n's efforts.

Shen: "You haven't lost your touch"

Y/n: "Never left me"

Commissioner: "Alright gentlemen, arm yourself, and let's move out to the rendezvous coordinate"

The triad armed themselves and got into the trucks ready for anything, Y/n took out a walkie talkie and pressed the button.

Y/n: "We got the supplies, we are heading to the rendezvous point"

Ruby: "Roger that! Make sure no one follows you"

Y/n: "Ten-four"

Y/n clipped the walkie talkie on his belt, before he left Wei Shen called for him.

Shen: "Hey Y/n"

Y/n: "What is it?"

Shen then put a hand on Y/n's shoulder, he smiled as he pats his back.

Shen: "Good to be working with you again"

Y/n nodded and turned on his bike. He put it on and put his helmet on his head and rode with the others to the core. He then picked up a static message from his walkie.

Yang: "Inspec- *bzzt* is anyone there?!"

Y/n immediately picked up.

Y/n: "What is it?"

Yang: "Atlas sold- *bzzt* surrounding- *bzzt* core!"

Y/n clipped the walkie back onto his belt and revved his engine passing everyone, he saw Atlas soldiers surround the walls. Y/n pressed on his earpiece.

Y/n: "Commissioner, Shen. The outer walls are surrounded, arm the men immediately"

Y/n then got off his bike and upholstered Silver Ghost, he started firing at the robot soldiers. Bullets pierced through and destroyed them from the inside before the rest could fire at Y/n Wei Shen and the police department backed Y/n up.

Y/n: "Take care of the bots! I'll find the Enforcer!"

Y/n in the corner of his eye immediately caught the enforcer, he dashed past the bots and shot a bullet to one of his knees. The enforcer was crippled as he screamed in pain from his kneecap shattering from the bullet, the lieutenant crawled pathetically as he watched every last of the bots he decimated by the triad and the police. He looked up to see Inspector Chen removing the empty mag from his gun.

Enforcer: "Never thought the department would go so low"

Y/n: "Ironwood went lower, now tell me..."

Y/n dragged him against the snow and threw him against the wall.

Y/n: "Where is your next supply of goods?"

The Enforcer laughed.

Enforcer: "You really think I will talk?"

Y/n holstered his gun and took out his baton, he raised the blunt weapon and smashed his other kneecap causing him to yell in pain. Y/n raised his baton once more causing the Enforcer.

Y/n: "Talk! NOW!"

Lieutenant: "West side of Atlas! There is a base of operation in the area!"

Y/n: "Good boy"

Y/n then smashed his head in with a kick letting him bleed all over the snow.

Y/n: "Take him to the jailhouse for further questioning"

The officers took the lieutenant into the camp as Y/n put his baton away.

Winter: "Enforcer what is your status right now?"

Y/n turned back, hearing her voice after all this time it was...soothing. Immediately it was replaced in anger as he picked up the walkie-talkie from the ground.

Y/n: "Your enforcer failed, just like the rest of them"

Winter was stunned by the news, after their fight in the station Y/n became vicious, something she blamed herself for doing. She sighed as she responded to Y/n.

Winter: "Inspector Chen, it's...been a while"

Y/n: "Don't act friendly with me Schnee, why did you send troops to hunt innocent citizens of Mantle?"

Winter: "We were never aiming to harm them"

Y/n: "Oh really? Because after Atlas abandoned Mantle turning this place into a damn killzone that claim is hard to believe"

Winter just stayed in silence letting what Y/n said sink in, he wasn't wrong, she did betray the city that she promised to protect and she betrayed her own lover after everything that he put on the line for her. Before she could say anything Y/n continued his anger-fueled message.

Y/n: "Now listen here, you dare fire at the citizens of Mantle let alone set your foot anywhere near them. I will make sure Atlas' finest is picked apart piece by piece"

Y/n threw the walkie down and smashed it with his steel toe boots, he then walked into the camp where he helped the former triad members hand out warm clothes, food, and water to the people.

-scene change-

Winter sighed as she heard the static from the other end, after that fight in the station it was never the same for both of them. Winter deep in her heart still loves the inspector, but her duty is to her kingdom. She walked out to the operation room meeting with the Ace Ops.

Winter: "What is your status on Y/n Chen?"

Clover: "He's one slippery inspector, he knows the outskirts of Mantle like the back of his hand"

Marrow: "He's almost undetectable appearing and disappearing in peculiar times, both the police force and triads seem to be under his schedule"

Harriet: "And even if we corner him he just seems to kick our asses over and over again"

Vine: "Are you sure it's only because you rush him without a plan?"

Harriet: "Shut up Vine!"

Winter: "That is enough!"

The two went back into stand while Winter sighed in frustration before going back to the point.

Winter: "He's a slippery tactician and strategist and probably a better fighter than each individual here, try and out strategize him and outman him. When we are going out there I will go with you for our hunt for Inspector Chen"

Ace Ops: "Yes ma'am!"

Winter watched the Ace Ops leave the room, she took out a picture of her and Y/n of a newspaper clipping. It showed both of them for the first time in a while happy and open to each other, yet that dream was never fulfilled. She pulled out her scroll, she saw Y/n's number, a number that she hasn't called ever since that very fight. She put the scroll back into her pocket and left to the Ace Ops.

Y/n was in the camp loading the magazine with different dust ammunition as he listened to the plan that Fiona was making.

Fiona: "We disable the power of the academy and attack from every dark corner, Atlas will stay afloat with the staff so Mantle and Atlas will be safe. We will apprehend Ironwood from there"

Y/n loaded his last magazine and loaded it into his gun.

Y/n: "What makes you think that the entire army in Mantle will stand back while you hold onto their general, Ironwood is going to send his men to destroy us remember?"

Fiona: "Do you have any ideas, Inspector?"

Y/n: "Simple, we raid Atlas, take the tech, supplies, and weapons for ourselves. After that, we end Ironwood for leaving his people behind"

Fiona, the huntresses, and the other operatives looked at him with outrage.

Fiona: "This just contradicts what you said!"

Y/n: "With the arms of Atlas and the manpower of Mantle we ourselves will have the ability to fend off Atlas and the Grimm, this very town is the beginning point of Atlas and we should start taking care of it ourselves"

Huntress: "Is this about Mantle's sake? Or is this about your ex?"

Immediately Y/n took out his combat knife and lunged at the huntress, the others held Y/n back as he spewed curses in Cantonese at the huntress. Y/n started to calm down, he shoved the other's away as he left outside to cool off.

He drove his bike to an abandoned but loaded bar in the off skirts of Mantle, he got off his bike, climbed to the top, and entered through the roof. He started pouring some substances into a cup and enjoyed himself a gunner cocktail, Y/n enjoyed himself letting the alcohol run down his throat and numb himself a bit. He then felt his new scroll vibrate from his pocket, he pulled it out, and to his dismay, it was none other than Winter Schnee. He answered it but refused to answer.

Winter: "Y/n? Are you there?..."

Y/n only stayed silent as only the clinking of ice coming from Y/n's glass can be heard.

Winter: "I...I know that I broke my promise, I know I screwed up. I should've been with you when Ironwood was going to abandon Mantle, Y/n if there's a way to convince you then-"

Y/n: "You didn't just abandon Mantle but you broke my heart, if you think that you can convince me to come to Atlas then think again"

Winter: "...I know you were part of that raid on Atlas, I can clear your record and you can start anew alongside me. We can live happily together Y/n"

Y/n: "I refuse to side with you after you tried to kill me after beating Tyrian. I trusted you and I loved you Winter and after everything we've been through you tossed it out of the fucking window!"

Winter: "You know my loyalty is to General Ironwood!"

Y/n: "If that was the case then why the fuck did you create a bullshit promise?!"

Winter: "Well at least I can keep those who I care for alive!"

Y/n felt like a bullet pierced his heart as his mind flatlined, he felt like he was going to pass out as Winter on the other line instantly regretted what she said.

Winter: "Y/n I am so sorry! Please don't hang up I-"

Y/n turned off his scroll as he stood there in silence, he felt everything that happened back then come back to haunt him. Yet this time Y/n gave himself a bit of nonchalant advice.

Y/n: "I need another drink"

Before he could touch his glass he ducked under a bladed weapon and threw the glass at the attacker, the attacker then opened a parasol blocking the glass.

Y/n: "Neopolitan..."

Neo put her parasol on her shoulder as she glared, Y/n unfolded his baton going on his guard. The multicolored assassin ran at Y/n as the tip of her parasol protruding a blade, Y/n parried the parasol downwards misdirecting the incoming parasol and smashed the baton against her belly making her lurch. Y/n started breaking her down giving her hard and brutal leg kicks, Neo tried to jab at Y/n but he misdirected the attack with his elbow and knocked her back with a sidekick. Neo's leg started to wobble from Y/n's attack.

Y/n: "What's wrong? Is the ice cream melting?"

Neo glared and ran towards Y/n, he then did a shoot towards her torso and slammed her to the ground putting her into a knee lock. Y/n started putting pressure on it causing Neo to tap, Y/n scoffed at Neo's nonverbal pleas. Y/n loosened the lock but held onto her leg.

Y/n: "So now that you are more inclined to speak or... you know, sign, wanna explain why you came after me?"

Neo started signing.

Neo: "Because you were supposed to join us!"

Y/n: "I'm not that man anymore, I am an inspector of the Mantle Police Department. I was never going to join you."

Neo: "If you would have joined us maybe he would still be alive!!"

Y/n then starts to loosen his grip out of sympathy, he is in a state of minor denial until he sees visible tears fall from her eyes.

Y/n: "...Don't tell me he's"

Neo: "Roman... My beloved husband...He's gone"

Y/n releases her leg and rolls back creating distance.

Y/n: "I'm sorry to hear that truthfully... I have someone I care for too... But she is more committed to her job than she is to me..."

Neo started to cry silently causing Y/n to bring her into a hug, she immediately accepted it as she cried into his shirt. Y/n rubbed her back.

Y/n: "Don't be sad that he is gone, but be happy that he was there"

Neo nodded as she sniffled, he then looked at her.

Y/n: "Do you have a home? I heard you and Roman had a kid"

Neo started to sign again.

Neo: "I've been living in this abandoned apartment in Mantle, I have been scraping by trying to survive with my son. I don't know how much I can keep up"

Y/n started to think, he couldn't let his old friend live like this especially with a child. He then thought of something, he typed something on his scroll and sent it to Neos.

Y/n: "Those are the coordinates to my cabin, you can stay there as long as you want"

Neo nodded with pure joy, she then ran to her apartment to get her things and her son. Y/n sighed as he got up and exited the bar, he looked out in the destruction and the deserted streets of Mantle. This made Y/n think to himself, his home is already in ruins and it will just be destroyed in due time. Y/n finally came to a decision: He will leave Mantle for good and go off on his own, but there is one thing that he wants to bring with him: Winter. He dialed her number on his scroll and waited for an answer.

-scene change-

Winter was sitting down in her penthouse with a glass of wine her mother got her, she was trying to destress at the moment while she was enjoying her first glass. Before she could drink more she heard her scroll ring, the moment she saw Y/n's number she immediately answered.

Winter: "Y/n I am so sorry for what I said I wasn't myself and-"

Y/n: "It's okay Winter you weren't thinking straight, look I need to talk to you about something"

Winter: "Okay what is it?"

Y/n: "I need the information on any entry points in Atlas"

Winter: "Why do you need this information anyway?"

Y/n: "I just need to do one more thing, after that, I will stop the attacks on Atlas"

Winter: "How do I know that you're not lying?"

Y/n: "You have my word, that is a promise"

Y/n heard nothing but silence from the other end, Winter hesitated to tell any information to the Inspector. Winter eventually answered to Y/n.

Winter: "There is an unguarded entryway from the back of the academy, you can enter through there with no chance of getting detected"

Y/n: "Thank you"

Winter: "Y/n"

Y/n stopped before he could hang up.

Winter: "Be careful okay?"

Y/n: "...I will"

Y/n hung up before he rode his bike to the nearest bulkhead stationed at an Atlas base, he took out an Atlesian soldier and took his armor as a disguise. He put his clothes and weapons into a bag and entered a bulkhead humming and ready for take-off, Y/n looked towards the window looking at the floating city Atlas. It was so much more beautiful than it was in Mantle, but he knew it was far from perfect as a community. He felt the bulkhead land allowing him and the others to head to the base.

Winter at the moment was called to the battle arena, she waited for Ironwood to get here to tell her his orders. She then heard the door open revealing General Ironwood.

Ironwood: "Glad to see you are punctual Schnee"

Winter: "Always General, what may I do for you?"

Ironwood: "Well...when I was working I found out something important"

Winter: "What would that be sir?"

Ironwood: "There is a traitor among us"

Y/n then ran into the room and pointed at the general.

Y/n: "Woooooo!"

The three actors and the crew started laughing their asses off including the director, Y/n high fives Winter and Ironwood the two as they caught their breath.

ACEE *recovering from laughter*: "Okay okay! Take two from the top people!"

-take two-

Winter looked in shock, she started to get nervous.

Winter: "W-Well the Ace Ops and I will find this said traitor, you have my word General"

Ironwood: "I used to have your word..."

Ironwood then pulled out his pistol and Winter unsheathed her sword.

Ironwood: "...but not anymore"

As Y/n changed into his clothes he heard gunfire nearby, out of worry Y/n ran towards the arena. Before he could get there his path was blocked by none other than the Ace Ops.

Harriet: "You got some nerve coming here, Chen"

Clover: "Surrender yourself peacefully inspector and we can give you a much more lenient sentence for your crimes"

Y/n: "I thought about that back at Mantle, but after Atlas' abandonment I realized something"

Elm: "And what would that be?"

Y/n took out a taser with three hundred thousand volts.

Y/n: "Peace was never an option"

Harriet ran towards Y/n with blinding speed only to be met with a jumping back kick to her liver knocking her back putting her down for the count.

Y/n turned the taser on illuminating the area with a blue glow and creating an echo of crackling electricity.

Y/n: "Who's next?"

Winter used her glyph to block the bullets coming from Ironwood, she then summoned an Atlesian knight to fight against the General. He dodged an incoming sword swing from the knight and another from Winter. She then kicked the gun out of Ironwood's hand as the gun slid away from him.

Ironwood: "We could've protected Atlas! We could've been able to escape from Salem!"

Winter: "There must be another way General! Mantle doesn't need to die!"

Ironwood: "You are still clinging on that thug that you call Inspector?"

Winter yelled as she used lightning dust to speed herself with her glyph, Ironwood blocked Winter's barrage of blinding sword swings. Winter then threw a hook at Ironwood connecting successfully, Ironwood dodged and blocked Winter's next punches and ducked under her roundhouse kick.

Y/n ducked under a swing of Elm's hammer and countered with a taser to her neck knocking her out, Marrow threw his boomerang at Y/n which he ducked under and shot at Marrow and dropped him with a German Suplex.

Y/n started to ground and pound Marrow into submission until he was pulled away with Clover's fishing hook creating distance between him and the Ace Ops.

Clover: "I thought we can trust you!"

Y/n: "Funny! I thought the same thing!"

Vine: "If this is about Mantle then please move on! It's for your own good!"

Y/n: "This is far past Mantle, you are allowing your own Lieutenant to be killed in that arena by your General who is willing to throw away innocent lives to make the easiest routes possible"

Clover: "He cares for the people of Atlas!"

Y/n: "And left my people for Salem's sacrifice! My people! The people that you swore to protect!"

Vine: "Please Y/n-"

Y/n: "Shut up!"

Y/n holstered his taser as he took out his steel knuckle.

Winter blocked an incoming punch from Ironwood with a glyph, she then kicked at Ironwood's legs trying to weaken them out like Y/n always did when he fought. Her efforts became futile as Ironwood punched through the glyph and connected to her chest knocking the air out of Winter's lungs dropping her like a fly.

She was in fatigue from everything she's been through, she thought she wanted what is best for her kingdom but no. After everything she went through...all she wanted was to be with Y/n. She looked up to see Ironwood wiping blood off his nose.

Ironwood: "I see that you learned new tactics, it's a shame that you haven't gotten the training to use it properly"

Ironwood walked to his gun, he picked it and looked into the chamber. He unloaded every bullet and loaded a single pitch-black bullet with a cold silver shell.

Y/n ducked under a fishing hook and threw a brutal steel laced hook to Clover's chin knocking him out. Y/n looked at the unconscious Clover and scoffed.

Y/n: "Skill always beats luck pal"

Y/n dodged an incoming arm and tried to kick away the other arm, Vine grabbed Y/n's leg and pulled the Inspector towards him. Y/n took out his gun and fired fire dust rounds eating away half of Vine's aura as he slid across the floor, Y/n got up, holstering his pistol, and ran at Vine throwing a flying knee at Vine's head knocking him out cold. Y/n then ran to the source of the sound leading him to the arena.

Ironwood walked towards Winter as he closed the cylinder of his gun, Winter tried to get up but Ironwood stomped on her stomach bringing her down again causing Winter to groan.

Ironwood: "I only wished the best for you...but I guess it doesn't matter to you anymore"

Ironwood pulled back the hammer and aimed at Winter, she looked at the General's cold look as he aimed his weapon at her.

Ironwood: "Goodbye Schn-"

Ironwood was then blasted back as many fire dust rounds landed and shattered Ironwood's aura immediately, Winter turned to the doorway to see none other than Y/n holding an empty Silver Ghost panting from running. He then ran up to Winter with worry.

Y/n: "Winter are you alright?"

Winter: "I'll be fine, thanks for showing up"

Y/n looked to see Ironwood started to recover, Y/n turned to Winter again.

Y/n: "Stay put, you're in no shape to fight"

Winter: "Alright, just be careful"

Y/n got up and slipped his gun into his holster and pulled out his baton folding it out, Ironwood groaned as he got up looking at Y/n with a rather shocked look.

Ironwood: "How...past the entire Ace Ops?"

Y/n just waved his baton a bit warming his wrist up for the fight, Ironwood on the other hand took a combat tanto out from his sheathe.

Ironwood: "Let's officially end this Inspector"

Ironwood and Y/n stood at a standstill, the two of them studied each other looking at their strengths and weaknesses. Sparks flew across the room as the two clashed their weapons, Y/n stopped his barrage and waited Ironwood out. Ironwood went for a stab which Y/n passed and stuck his baton against his chest compressing his ribs and then broke a few with a spinning back kick. Ironwood held his chest as labored breathing came in and out of his breath.

Ironwood: "You're one hrg!-.... sneaky bastard"

Y/n didn't respond, all he did was square up going into his fighting stance.

Ironwood charged again, the two parried each other's attacks. Y/n parried a knife attack with his hand and struck his elbow, Ironwood tried to swing his knife at Y/n's face which was blocked by the pommel and Y/n struck his wrist weakening his grasp on the blade.

Ironwood switched into an ice pick grip and the two clashed weapons and Ironwood swung his blade but missed as Y/n ducked, Ironwood tried to stab again but Y/n blocked his forearm with his baton. Ironwood manipulated the baton and went for a slash to the face, the wound was immediately avoided as the baton blocked the knife's way from the Inspector's face. The two manipulated each other's weapons before Y/n sidestepped and smashed the pommel of the baton against the back of the General.

Ironwood then went for an overhand which was blocked and Y/n wrapped his wrist and disarmed him. Ironwood stepped back as Y/n had his baton in his hand, the General ran at him and slammed his shoulder at Y/n's chest with his metal arm knocking the air out.

The Inspector was then caught in a fireman carry and slammed to the ground by James, Y/n defended against Ironwood's ground and pound pushing his hips away with his feet creating distance from him and Ironwood, and with it, he was able to grab Ironwood's arm and wrapped his legs around his neck getting him into a triangle choke.

Ironwood felt the air get cut off from his lungs as the python that is Y/n's legs squeezed his neck, Ironwood lifted Y/n up from the ground to slam him but Y/n turned his triangle choke into a scissor position and threw Ironwood to the ground with his legs. Y/n got back up with a kip up as Ironwood recovered from Y/n's counter-throw.

Y/n immediately ran at Ironwood with a flying knee which was dodged easily by Ironwood, Y/n hit Ironwood with a round kick and put Ironwood in a clench and threw knee after knee at the General's head which Ironwood tried to block to the best of his abilities.

Ironwood then shot at Y/n like a wrestler but Y/n defended brining his legs further away from him, Ironwood's arm was grabbed and he was thrown by Y/n.

Y/n started throwing bomb after bomb of punches at Ironwood's face until Ironwood caught his wrist and threw him down, the two recovered.

Y/n threw blinding punches to Ironwood's face which was easily blocked by the General's metal arms, Y/n's attacks punches became futile as they started to bruise weakening his punches which Ironwood countered with a hook to Y/n's jaw and an uppercut to Y/n's chest. Then Y/n threw a roundhouse kick to Ironwood's ribs which weakened him tremendously, Y/n at that moment found Ironwood's weakness and started to capitalize on it.

Y/n started with a hook to Ironwood's face and started throwing fast and powerful hooks to his ribs attempting to tenderize them.

Ironwood's breathing started to get heavy as he felt his right lung get tattered, Y/n started breaking down his base throwing leg kick at his thighs and calves weakening his legs. Y/n then used a spinning back kick to Ironwood's left area of his chest breaking some of his ribs in the process.

Ironwood threw a roundhouse and a barrage of punches of his own which Y/n evaded, the Inspector
scissor swept the General off the ground and put him into a knee lock.

Y/n easily fought against Ironwood's resistance and applied enough force to snap Ironwood's knee, Ironwood yelled in pain as he felt his knee being forced inward out out place. Y/n released the leg and rolled back, he watched as Ironwood helplessly got up holding his leg in pain. Y/n didn't let it last as he ran up with a yell and broke Ironwood's entire rib cage with a triple sidekick.

Ironwood dropped like a fly as his be passed out from the pain, Y/n massaged his chest from Ironwood's punch. He looked at Winter who was now stood up from her laying position.

Winter: "Thanks for saving me..."

Y/n: "It's no problem, we should get out of here as soon as possible"

Winter: "Wait...what are you taking about?"

Y/n: "Winter I came here to take something from Atlas, but it never was something it was someone. Winter you're that someone that I want, I want the woman that I love dearly"

Winter: "Y/n..."

Y/n ran up to her holding her hands.

Y/n: "I want you and your family to come with me, away from this cesspool of a kingdom away from this war...please"

Winter looked as her eyes gleamed with happiness, Y/n still loved her and came all the way here to take her away from this war...but she knew that she couldn't.

Winter: "Y/n I'd love to but...I can't"

Y/n's hopeful face immediately turned into one of sorrow and minor heartbreak.

Y/n: "W-What do you mean you can't leave?"

Winter: "Because no matter how misguided he is he has Atlas' best interest at heart. He is my General"

Y/n: "Winter he tried to kill you! I understand you're a woman of honor and duty but to this extreme isn't worth your life!"

Winter: "Y/n..."

Y/n: "Winter I beg of you please, come with me. Let's leave behind this war forever, we can avoid senseless violence and further bloodshed. We can finally be happy together"

Winter: "I would want nothing more, to leave with you far away from this war and live together happily is all that I want...but I just can't...I can't abandon my post or my General and if I did, the honor in me that you praise the most would mean nothing if I turn my tail and run now"

Y/n at this point felt his heart slowly crack bit by but as tear after tear started to leave his eyes.

Y/n: "Winter you can't be serious! I don't care if you leave with me I will still love you either way. After everything that has happened the one thing I need in my life is you, I can't take this anymore! I need you in my life Winter..."

Y/n's eyes started welling up with more and more tears which were at the verge of falling, the very sight broke Winter's heart.

Y/n: "Please...I beg of you"

Winter sighed sadly as she took off her glove putting her bare hand on Y/n's face, she gently brushed his cheek with her thumb before bringing him into a hug.

Winter: "I'm sorry Y/n...but I am not abandoning Atlas, I can't"

This is when Inspector Chen finally broke as Y/n allowed his brokenness be shown, he cried and cried into Winter's shoulder as she did her best to comfort him. Winter silently cried as well seeing Y/n breaking for the first time, she never wanted this for Y/n but she didn't have a choice. She promised herself however, that she will reunite with Y/n, she has to for herself and most importantly Y/n.

Eventually from all the fighting and from the emotional meltdown Y/n ended up falling asleep, Winter summoned a small Beowulf and carried him to a bulkhead. She went up to the pilot giving one order to him.

Winter: "Bring him safely to Mantle"

Pilot: "Yes ma'am"

Before Winter left she took one more look at Y/n, even in his sleep he looked extremely sorrowful. It crushed Winter's very soul reminding her that she made Y/n to feel like this, Winter gave him a gentle kiss before she exited the bulkhead.

Y/n woke up on a bench in a sleeping bag, he felt like absolute shit after what happened this day. He saw his bike securely locked in next to him, before he could get on he heard some feedback from his walkie talkie. He took it off his belt and listened, it was Weiss.

Weiss: "Inspector Chen do you read me?"

Y/n: "Ten four"

Weiss: "Oh good, we need you back at the base and-"

Y/n: "No"

There was silence, creating tension in between the two of them.

Weiss: "What is that supposed to mean?"

Y/n: "It means I'm done, I'm tired of this war. A war that I am not partaking anymore"

Weiss: "That is ridiculous! We need your help on this!"

Y/n: "No you don't, you have enough people to handle the problems that I have to deal with..."

Y/n started his bike revving up the engine.

Y/n: "...Don't try to track me Miss Schnee"

Y/n tossed both the walkie talkie, his scroll and his badge on the bench and drove off.

Ironwood was in the medical bay after treated from his injuries, it hurt for him to breathe after the fight with Inspector Chen. He knew he couldn't fight him, he was going to need his equal and knew exactly who he was going to call, he took out his scroll and dialed an anonymous number.

???: "How the fuck did you get this number?"

Ironwood: "If you knew who I am then you would know"

???: "Oh, the General...what do you want?"

Ironwood: "I have a job for you and your partner"

???: "Both of us are retired"

Ironwood: "What do you want?"

???: "I want both me and my lover's criminal record cleared"

Ironwood: "Deal, I will see you in a week from now Hector"
