Chapter 93

The day had slipped by and the night sky had found you once again in the office, your hands occupied with work while your mind was fighting to concentrate on the letters and the issues of others that you were reading about while trying to shove at the back of your head the restlessness that was veiling inside you.

Surely, Jungkook had reassured you earlier in the day that you had nothing to worry about and that he would protect you if the need may arise. Still, there was a part of you that couldn't fully hang on to his words simply because watching over anyone was not something easy to do. He couldn't be with you 24/7 after all.

If Luke was to come after you what was it that you were capable to do? You wanted to believe that you were strong enough to escape from him, but only recalling his grip on you, from years ago, made you feel like every drop of energy was leaving your body. You were aware that you were not physically as weak but for some reason the stigma of the terror made you feel helpless when it came to him.

Your skin had been itching terribly all day because of the fact that at the back of your mind, the traumatic scene of the past, had played quite a lot. You had even excused yourself quite a few times just to vomit out of disgust and had found yourself trembling quite a lot even under the gaze of a male, that you are well accustomed to, as Shin was.

If he hadn't thought of you as a weird person so far, he certainly must be thinking that after today, for you hadn't even taken files from his hand, and had requested him to place them at the desk and leave, before you even approached to grab them.

It made you slightly feel guilty towards him as he waved you good night from afar before leaving, as he most likely had gotten the message by the end of the day that you weren't at your best.

Gosh...this is getting out of hand...why it's affecting me so much...I need to calm myself or else this will affect more than my emotions

You worried in silence as you watched your coworkers taking their leave one after another since the time to leave work had just arrived and most of them wouldn't lose time to stay over for a minute more. And neither would have done you, but you had decided to wait for everyone to be gone so you could take the elevator without having the need to be in anyone's presence and reach by the entry, to quietly await for the taxi you had decided to call. There was no way you would enter on public transportation while your issue with touch was in such an aggravated state.

Once all were gone, you took a deep sigh and stood up from your seat, placing your bag over your shoulder and making sure you take your coat on the way out, however, once you stepped into the hallway, to your surprise, you found Jungkook standing there, leaning against the wall as his gaze seemed to have been on the floor, until you stepped out of the office room.

"How come you started staying over time? You barely are at work while there are working hours."He joked as he smiled at you and proceeded to correct his posture while you walked over to him.

"In my defence, I still do my work on time and greatly if  I may add, regardless of the time." You argued and he smiled before he started matching your pace, for you didn't halt before him but continued your way down to the elevator.

"What about you? Going home so early?" You questioned him once before the elevator door as it was known that he usually is the one that overdoes it when it comes to working, or at least that is what you knew him off. Well with the exception of the days that he had amnesia that he wouldn't stay back for the life of him cause he wanted to be home with his so-called wife.

"I will get you home then I will go to mine. I can work from there too. It's not like  I have much to do in an empty house now anyways." He uttered just as the elevator door's opened for you to enter and for some reason listening to those words, left you with a slightly bitter taste of sadness.

He must be feeling lonely to not say miserable. Trapped in an environment full of memories of Seon and him and the love that he lost.

"Hey...em...if you want, you could stay over tonight too...I mean Jimin would like the company and it could help your relationship soften a bit more..." You suggested once you two had found yourselves in the private space of the elevator and Jungkook showcased his surprise all over his face briefly but soon claimed that he liked the idea and you felt relieved, a smile reaching on your lips, for the first time in this day.

--Time skip---

Jimin was watching Tv laying on his couch when he heard the front door opening and his face lit up in excitement for he had been bored out of his mind all day alone in there and he had been awaiting your arrival.

"Y/n! Finally~" He chirmed as he hurried towards the door, with open arms, but his wide smile changed quickly to a shocked expression once he noticed that Jungkook was also with you.

"I am back. How was your day?" You replied casually as the two exchanged some murmured greetings and then they both giggled a bit, finding their awareness of each other, quite ridiculous.

"I don't think you need me to tell you to make yourselves at home, cause this is more your home than it's mine. I will ask what would you like to eat though. I will order out." You announced, not planning to bother and cook anything.

"No worries Y/n, I already did that. I even set the table." Jimin's words surprised you briefly but you definitely appreciated his consideration of the fact that you come tired from work.

"You are the best." You praised him with a smile and proceeded to make the motion of patting his shoulder but ended up just lightly letting your palm loom over it before passing by him, heading to the bedroom in order to change clothes.

Jungkook and he had proceeded to enter further inside the living room after that. Jungkook questioned him if he would mind if he was to stay over tonight as well, but he understood Jimin's response just by the way his face lit up.

"Are you kidding? Of course, you can. You can stay as much as you want. Wait, I will bring you some clothes to change so you can be more comfortable."He replied full of excitement and then tried to walk away but Jungkook's body quickly got on his path and stopped him.

"Wait, You can't go yet. Y/N is in the room changing." He reminded him and Jimin cracked a smile at him.

"It's fine. We have been living so many years with each other. You think we haven't seen each other changing clothes before?" He spoke matter of factly in a very nonchalant way because for him it meant nothing much, and then he proceeded to leave, but for some reason, that statement of his had left Jungkook feeling momentarily bothered.

He left an exhale to escape his lips as he made his way to the couch and took a seat, his eyes focusing on the TV while his mind had started its own trail of thoughts.

Memories of the times he had walked in on you changing started floating on his mind at first then it came back to that one time he literally had you change before him while he was seated on his bed. The image in his head made him start coughing a bit and his gaze started travelling around as if someone could tell what he was thinking about.

Some blood rushed on his cheeks as his mind proceeded to be his foe and bring before his eyes that night that he had convinced you to try and had trailed some kisses down your neck, while he had your body, underneath his.

The memory had him snap instantly back on his feet, as he had a mixture of anger over the fact that he was feeling flustered, veiling on his facial features.

What the heck is wrong with my mind? Think of something else! Think of something else!

He urged himself inwardly before he proceeded to blame his brother for using words that had triggered his mind to bring back memories he shouldn't be having at all.

"How about we play some games after dinner?" Jimin's voice was what managed to snap him from his inner turmoil as he apparently was returning to the living room with clothes in his hands and you walking right behind him, already changed into your pyjamas.

"Oh, why not? Can games do you have in the house?" He agreed without giving it much thought as he proceeded to get hold of the clothes that his brother reached out to him.

"Let's play that new one. The one you had brought some months back from Tokyo." You uttered as you recalled that game Jimin had brought which had remained unopened since then.

"Good idea. We could have some quality time over that. Namjoon Hyung had recommended it and I bought it. He said it was a lot of fun." Jimin added in some information and Jungkook just nodded his head, not that interested in it, then he excused himself to go change.

"Namjoon? That coworker of yours that was here right? I didn't know it was his recommendation."

"He has good taste. I guarantee you."

"Maybe we should call him over someday for dinner. We kinda owe that much to him, after all that mess. Plus I found that guy quite reliable. I like him." You and Jimin went on with the talk casually and your conversation accompanied Jungkook to the bathroom door that he opened and entered, facing his reflection once he had close the door for there was a mirror on the back side of it.

Strangely enough, unconsciously his face had morphed to displeasure as he faced himself, a slight irritation dancing on his eyes just as his tongue travelled around the inner part of his cheek while in his mind was ghosting only the last words that you had spoken. 'I like him'

His expression soon changed to confusion as his consciousness caught notice of the feeling that had crept in him without a reason and then he lowered his head and rubbed a bit on his forehead, brushing the unreasonable pinch of jealousy off as nothing important.

He proceeded to loosen up his tie and put it aside then went on taking off his jacket and unbuttoning his shirt next, only to find himself looking at his reflection once half naked and abruptly in his mind, returning the image of you.

The trembling sensation of your hands ghosted over his skin as his eyes fell close, bringing alive the feelings that you had awoken in him that night that he had asked you to touch him instead, and you had managed to leave your hands to roam around his skin, slowly and hesitantly.

The memory had him crack up as he opened his eyes again, now finding it funny, how nervous and panicking you actually were. Now that he had his memories all back he understood better how cornered you basically were back in those days and for some unknown reason momentarily he found it funny.

"Ah...I sure was too much...but at least she held up really well. She never wavered." He murmured to himself but as soon as those words escaped his lips, another image crossed his mind.

That night that you had almost made out with him...your heartbeat was so loud and rapid just as he was...but he was supposed to have been a man in love with his so his heartbeat being a mess made sense. Those feelings weren't so prominent because it was you nor they were directed towards you specifically. Or so he had convinced himself.

There was no way that he could allow a part of him that had developed feelings for you to exist. And that was the reason why he had been so mad towards you immediately after he had regained his memories. But he was not mad anymore because such a thing was not true.

He had thought about it. He had rationalized it and broke it down. He had given it a logical explanation yet at that very moment as he gazed at his reflection, there was a voice at the back of his mind that was calling him...a liar.
