"Usually SOLs don't develop their ture color till as little as few hours or as long as a couple days."

Zach turned around at the voice. He didn't remember hearing Alec coming down the stairs.

"What?" He said confused and still a little annoyed.

"Well you asked me to talk about your wolf didn't you? Also I'm sorry, ok. All is forgiven, we're friends again right?"

Zach sighed, "It's not that simple."

"Look, I... I never really had a friend so I don't really know how to... umm what to say. I grew up in an orphanage and I was always alone. The lab thought that was the perfect place to look for... people like me. So they tested us and took the ones who were "special". The problem with children who had parents and were cared about was that they'd show up on the news like Jake and have police searching for them. And no I'm not telling you this so you can feel sorry for me so don't. I just trying to help you understand why I suck at pretty much everything involving people I guess. "

"Oh." Zach didn't know what to say. "Umm just apologize to Skyler, ok?"

"Alright." Alec responded. He paused for a second before saying, "your wolf. Her ears are black."

Zach looked down at Dawn who was sleeping in his lap. Her ears were indeed black as Alec had said a proclaimed moments before.

"Why are they black?" He asked.

"She's still a SOL by the way. Spirits can become black from their owner having the capacity for evil, or from minor or major anger or depression. Those last two have to be long term things. You can't just be really sad for an hour and have your Spirit turn black."

"Oh." He said and looked down at Dawn once more. He started moving around then opened her eyes. She was instantly on her feet and growled at Alec.

"Stop he's at friend. He won't hurt me."  Zach told her. She huffed and stoped growling but kept looking at him.

"Her name is Dawn by the way." Zach said to Alec.

"Cool. I'm glad you two have bonded while I was upstairs cause the next step is being able to to get her to disappear and be able to summon her without help then you two need to learn to fight together. " Alec said and took a seat next to him. 

Zach looked over to Dawn and she looked at him, staring into his eyes and disappeared, glowing bright and then fading into the air.

"Well that was easy, what's next?"

"I gave you a list." Alec said flatly.

Zach sat there for a minute, completely still. Alec, extremely confused, began to question weather he should say something when Dawn appeared next to Zach.

"Ok," Zach said excitedly, "what's next?"

"Oh wow you got it. We need Skyler for the next part."

"I don't think h-"

"Hey Zach." The door burst open and Anthony came inside, Chase wiggling in after him. He barked at Alec and went over to him, wagging his tail excitedly.

"Who's this?" He asked as he placed Chase's neon blue leash on the table by the door.

"I'm Alec. I just moved here." He answered nonchalantly.

"Well hello Alec, I hope you like the town as much as we do."

"Can he sleepover?" Zach asked.

"If it's alright with his parents." Anthony responded and went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

"Lets go to my room again, you can explain other "magic" stuff."
