Author's Note
Ah! Even though, it is half of the plot done. Personally, I am a bit relieved that I managed to complete it.
There will be many chances ahead to talk about Book II. But for now, I want to relive the journey till here through some discussion.
I have been very passionate about the book and thus, I would love to share some reasons, thoughts and ideas I went through while writing Misty.
Plus, I know that most of the readers are already nostalgic. Your love for the book just melts me. So, why not just lighten our hearts by talking with each other about Misty and what else do we want? XD (apart from further plot)
Let's begin with the characters.
Misty: In all of my previously written books, I have always been very attached with the female leads. Anastasia, Pihu, Azalea, Sakshi, Evelyn, and others. When I was about to design the plot, I knew that this time, this one had to be the most relatable female lead which can connect to every reader directly. All previous leads have been strong in their own way. But some of their things manage to frustrate the readers. It happens in some important scenes whether some trouble, important decision or choosing a loved or fighting with him, or just something else. But with Misty, I wanted the readers to understand her decisions rather than getting frustrated. 'What she did makes me mad but I can understand'——that kind of thought.
About her traits. Well, she is blunt, straightforward, cry-baby at times, loving, caring, sassy, funny, talkative. She is the kind of girl who is nearly a nobody in her school. But life threw her in a fantasy where she is nowhere near a nobody. She is the centre of attention. Her relationships with all the characters have different equations. That's what I really loved about it. The magic happened on its own. We just can't say that she has a relationship same with these two characters. Her friendships with Lexi, Keira, Stephen, Ivan has been very different from each other. Her funny moments with Thomas, Axel, Stephen, Gilbert, or any other character are different in their own way.
I didn't want to portray Misty as a serious nerd. Because I don't think it's that relatable. People are nerdy and can be extrovert. Some nerds are hidden underneath a fun loving spontaneous personality. She has dreams. She gets lazy too. She throws tantrums. She gets angry. She gets mean too. She has the potential of using a received knowledge, well. Some things keep her apart from others, I guess. Like her being humble at moments. It's not in her nature. She just feels Gran has taught her that way. But it's upon a person to follow the good or bad.
She isn't very emotional. But life has given her some subjects that are very sensitive to her. One of them being 'Gilbert'. With him being around in the story, I always wanted her to focus on life first. Her true wishes instead of going with the trend. If Lexi has boyfriends, Ryan flirts with her too, school might have that environment of dating as she is eighteen. But she wants a father more than a boyfriend at the moment. That even her real-self doesn't know.
All in all, Misty has been my favorite lead of mine yet. She has blown my days and nights. I feel for her. Life is not perfect. She didn't have her parents with her. With only one person as a family, she conquered eighteen years of her life. When the time came for her to think rationally, she did and reacted. But even then, her morales and aims are her priorities. She is my loving heroine of the book. . . My hero, actually.
Gran: The person who gave humour and sass to Misty in inheritance. She is the reason why we love Misty. Gran's own moments are very dear to me. I have always imagined her as the typical caring, funny, flirtatious kind of Granny who becomes best friends to her grand children easily. Her care for Malina's choices and equal hatred for Gilbert will always be an important highlight. Gran is important to Misty. Her likings will be important too.
Malina: She might not be the best of mother to Misty, Eva, Pete or even Thomas or Natalie. She might not be a good mate to Gilbert as she ran away. She might not be the best Luna to her pack too as again, she ran away for mean motive. But she might be the best rebel in the whole book. Malina is precious in the way, life has forced her to choose between her loved ones. Frankie or Gilbert? Gilbert or Andrew? Eva, Pete or Misty? She has been dealing with this forever. At moments, she becomes the true Luna, the true mate or the true mother. But for me, she is my favorite rebel. Because she is the birth-giver. Without her, there would have been no Misty. XD And just thinking about being a mate to someone like Gilbert, and running away to the city, trying new hand on love, trying to move on when you are hurt—Malina has been a performer. When she needed the 'me' time, she went for it.
Gilbert: I can write books about him. Well, I wrote one XD But hey, he has been a man of different shades. From the beginning to the end here, he has been affective. I always wanted him to be rough-tough Alpha with a grey heart. He might not be the hero for us, he can't be the villain too. I loved creating the moments where he created a fine line between being an Alpha and a father. I have always seen sadist characters who have rough past. They are either serious or creepy. I personally wanted Gilbert to not be scary or sadist or mysterious or just angry. He is a mixture of all these shades. I just wanted him to be 'amusing'.
Pete: Writing Pete has always been stressful for me. Because I always wanted Misty to look up to him. It's not just the good moments that make us look up to someone. It's the vibe we get from him. The views we hear about that person from other people. Pete is the kind of male whose relationships were never the highlight and yet, I wanted him to be the most emotional sibling of all. He did work without showing off and Misty was able to see that. He can be the angry young man, a mature eldest son or sibling, a caring or dominating Alpha and most importantly, an Alpha who practises lateral thinking. In most of the werewolf books on Wattpad, Alpha males are cherished for their good physique and ruthlessness. I wanted an Alpha without ruthlessness. Pete is the kind of leader who ends up upsetting people by doing the right. When I picturize the book, I find him as an underrated character.
Evangeline: The ruthlessness I needed in a character was her. When it takes whole of your ego to even give someone a kind smile, how would you apologise to the ones you hurt? In some stories, a character is hateful. But for the most basic reasons. Despite being closer to the city, Eva has suffered the side effects of living in a patriarchal society. She is not aware of how much she is similar to her mother in nature if not by looks. The courage, the boldness, the rebellion,? It's Malina in her. But she has always wanted to be Gilbert's favorite and that is because Pete will be always elder than her. She won't get the astonishment for that. I personally felt hurt when I matched her with a Beta. Being an Alpha's daughter, she must have hopes of being mated to an Alpha. Hell, she has trained hard for being an authoritative female. Her wolf has desires to reach more height. But the writer in me just knew, that Moon Goddess wanted her for Leo in all possible ways. But hey, life keeps the big opportunities coming.
Thomas: He is the kind of character that makes me smile goofy. You feel guilty for getting angry on characters like him. Because they are innocent and fun-loving. I am sure, there is always a character like him in every family. I had first thought about making him gay as I love variations through my plots and characters. But for this plot and my own originality because there are many books on Wattpad with gay werewolf characters. I know a gay Thomas would have rocked the Misty-Book boat. But I had a personal thought in my mind afterwards. Many males are fun-loving and goofy. But when it comes to their love life or family, they becomes the most sexy macho men. With him being gay—I would have definitely created a drama out of Gilbert being a rough father or Pete being superior to Tommy. I didn't need more dimension to Axel bullying him or him being a gay best friend to Misty. It all felt cliché. Thomas would have an amazing gay wolf. But the plot thickens on its own in my mind. Also, I wanted the focus of story to be only on those moments which would be the quality content, means related to mythology part and clues for further plot only. So, I added my love for gay characters by Eva's monologue about her crazy heat adventure with a female once. Throughout the whole book, I could see only her as gay or bi.
(Hope I didn't offend anyone. It's a sensitive topic even in today's world for some people. But for me, I was talking with the thought of being original and creative.)
Natalie: There is always a clever one amongst the intelligent ones. Clever in the sense that her genius is backed by negative intentions. At the end of the day, Nate is the youngest and is yet to grow nature. She hasn't even shifted. She was asked to be trained for the Lycans. One daughter like Eva agrees and trains harder to beat some asses. While that superiority breaks down the younger daughter's confidence.
There are some unique traits I have recognized in how Natalie turned out to be—she is the most beautiful sibling of them all. She is the most pampered one yet the one who hasn't been heard fully. She hasn't been able to share her deepest secrets with anyone. She can fight alone, only her impulse knows. The way she performed on the full moon night and in the last chapters. We all thought, Axel was bullying Thomas, irritating Natalie. But it was her who has the upper hand. The uniqueness in the way that she doesn't sing that she is an Alpha daughter like Eva. She has that superiority by her sharpness.
Also, the humanity inside her is because of her twin's presence. With the last chapters, I tried to show that anyhow, she is still a pup who was aiming to do great but failed because of imperfections. She was saving Misty by playing those games but it fell opposite. She got what she wanted. Not a Lycan mate. But someone like Axel with whom she can spend have pups and live happily ever after. But the happily is far for the moment. As a reader/viewer, the pervert inside us always ships two fighting male and female. We see the chemistry and we want them to have a sexy romance. Natalie and Axel give me those feels. I love them together.
Keira: Misty's best friend in Rucussa. The underrated genius of the house. Being with Eva and Natalie, she reflects personality as same as them to Misty in the beginning. But later on, Aunt Kate's intelligence and Uncle Robert's training are visible in her words and behaviour. Keira's love life was a complete shock for me. I hadn't planned her to be mated with Ivan. I remember writing Thomas, Ivan and Robert returning after the invitations. Like some magic in a blink, I could imagine Keira and Ivan getting to see each other as mates for the first time.
Keira has managed to gain many lovers in the readers, another shock because I don't think I have tried to highlight her goodness or shown her scenes more than Eva or Natalie. Keira's love for her brothers, Fred and Jiro gave me the thought process to imagine more. Because I could imagine Misty having fun/mocking moments with sarcastic Fred and cute Jiro, only because of her close friendship with Keira. Plus, Eva and Natalie weren't the best friend material for Misty's personality? Or maybe, the things happened on their own.
Ivan: I have used this character to give the lessons to all flirty werewolves out there in Rucussa and rest of the five packs XD I feel bad. He was a lively character until Keira came. He is the role that I wanted to be like those of transformations. From being sincere and lively to sincere and serious. He did mistake and he is guilty. And he hides his intelligence. Also, he played an important part for the full moon night episode. If he wasn't there to inform Misty about Axel's position near the grounds, she might not have followed Nate crazily. His love life is a gift that he broke accidentally. But he is being a son to Stephen too by learning medicine if not the Beta to the pack.
Stephen: He was an instant idea. I remember, craving a Pete and Misty, sibling-bonding kind of scene. I was taking them to a doctor and all of a sudden, it clicked. A new character on the spot. Stephen. Beta Iago has a brother. Ivan has an uncle. The story started forming in my mind slowly on its own. The hatred for Gilbert in his heart gave me the idea of producing Gilbert's five elder brothers. The wolf submits to only the Alpha males he thought he respected with heart. The info that came with Stephen was just a magical flow. Stephen is a magic that happened in the plot. His bond with Axel and Misty is on another level. His gift for Nirvan's mate was a filling to the hole I feel that he has in his life. Being alone, he has become a Grand father to his nephews more than the uncle. Also, he believes in a purpose. The end of the suffering of males who have Lycan mates. This mere idea in his mind is a root.
Nirvan: He is another Thomas with high responsibilities and no sisters. He is funny, talented and the lucky one. He got the Beta status. He got the fairy. This is because he chose to stay simply awesome. There was no negativity. Just standing up for the right, doing fun and just be lowkey hopeful XD
So, these were the important characters I was dying to talk about. If you want to discuss about someone else, mention the name in an inline comment here. We can talk in threads.

Elements
I was excited about a Werewolf thriller. But I was low-key scared too. I didn't know how it would work out. The plot with so many characters is a huge deal to cope up with. But like the ouija board chapter in my old school book, I just know there is some hidden inspiration that comes like an awakening. And scenes come up in imaginations on their own.
Werewolves: I always focus on emotions. So, it was quite difficult for me to come up with scenes where a person shifts into the fur. All those scenes are forcefully added after proper thinking process. Because when you keep talking about family drama, you forget that they are meant to shift too. I didn't show extra things like mindlinks and markings. I just wanted it to be simple as possible.
Lycans: Wait for Book II. Till then: 'Don't cross the border. You are a human. You won't even know, what killed you.'
Feather: Just a nostalgia from Petals of Azalea. They had the same thing with leaves. I changed it to feather here. It was a random idea from my sister. We were talking about it before the henna moment (if you remember).
Statue: Alpha Rucus statue is a prop that I have asked Misty to keep using throughout. Well, it's just lovely how the pack worships a statue and is able to look at it day and night. Misty did the same absentmindedly, while living in between them. The form of him played a good role in Misty getting empathetic and interested in the legend of Rucus.
The Last Wish Chapter: I personally feel that the dialogues there were ignored or forgotten. Just to highlight them again, I am sharing how the middle scene when Misty has a little bit of consciousness yet she is not full awake, most of the family is there and giving suggestions. Their words reflect their personalities. And I love this chapter.
Mythology class: Just a name given to rigorous teaching and training of the female to prepare for the Lycan territory. I regret calling it Mythology class. The name has lowered down the thrill I felt one should have while knowing what they are learning for what purpose. But for Misty, it was all new and harmless. Just full of fantasy, knowledge and time-passing entertainment. Then, I don't think I regret it anymore. Because that's how, it all became a Mythological thriller.
The Truck Ride: The song I have left at the media in that chapter was the sole source of my imagination of that whole sequence and going to the city. As if I wanted to poetically avenge Misty's scary kidnapping ride with Pete and Ivan. She was blindfolded and frightened. But this one was eventful. *Snickers*
Sign Language: I was inspired to add it in the book when I was thinking of Misty's nightblindness and vegetarianism. She is a human. She has weaknesses and some features that werewolves won't relate to.
Also, There are always inside jokes between best friends. Sign language brought Keira and Misty closer. Plus, how would have she gotten Uncle Ryan's message in the fourth night.
Phone call with Gran: I was overwhelmed when I wrote that scene. It's the point where Misty doesn't want to choose between Gran and the werewolf world. Plus, Gran confesses her kind thoughts with Misty. Gran needed a hug from all of us that night.
I will keep going forever. There are many scenes or elements that I can keep listing. If you want to ask my thoughts behind a particular one, please ask here. I'll answer if I can, not spoiling the Book II.

Mythology Vs. Fantasy
I was sure that I would back Misty with Alpha Rucus' legend. There will be this whole Mythology class element. But keeping a book in Mythology genre is a huge deal. Because well, this was whole made up by me. I didn't use any true reference. So, I am still in dilemma if I should keep calling it a Mythology Thriller as its genre or a Fantasy Thriller.
Please let me know your opinions to consider on.

I will post one more part which will show you the songs I listened to while imagining and writing Misty's plot. It will be such a privacy-interruption. I am conscious about it. Because the taste in music gives you the idea of personality. If you are a peppy one or an old school. I am very filmy when it comes to this.
But I feel that the song might also give you the feels that I got for Misty scenes. Will post the part soon. Won't judge my taste, I hope.
Until then,
Stay in touch.
Please give a try to my
other books too.
Lots of love,
