"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Yelled Ollie, pushing Ryan's chest.
"I'm sorry I was just speaking for all of us!" Replied Ryan.
"You blamed him for his wife's death!" Intruded Jemma. "What kind of a person are you?!"
"What's going on here?!" Said a voice, everyone turned around to see Mrs Watson.
Nobody spoke. They were deep in the shock of the argument with Mr McCafferson.
"There isn't a fall out in the band is there? You're supposed to be going on tour in less than a month." Continued Mrs Watson, looking through the door to the music classroom where Miss Flynn was calming Mr McCafferson down.
"What's happened to you lot?" She asked, "you were the idols of the school!"
They all looked down before Mrs Watson walked into the music classroom.
"Everything alright?" Asked Mrs Watson to Zoe and Martin.
"Oh- Good morning Bronagh." Said Zoe, looking up at her boss.
"I saw Ryan and the band out there arguing-has something happened?" Asked Bronagh Watson, taking a seat.
Zoe and Martin looked at each other.
"They were in a strange mood coming in here. They didn't speak a lot. I'm sure it'll resolve itself." Said Zoe.
"Right. It's just not like them to be so tense."
"They've got lots of exams on at the moment. I'm sure they're just stressed." Added Zoë.
"I suppose so. Sorry to bother you." Concluded Mrs Watson,
"No problem." Replied Zoe, standing up as Bronagh left.

"Did you just lie to your boss?" Asked Martin, still feeling awful after his argument with Ryan.
"I bent the truth." Insisted Zoe. "I never lie."
Martin gave a faint smile after Zoe's sarcastic tone.
"God maybe Ryan's right. I'm such a mess." He sighed.
"Ryan went far too far today." Said Zoe, sitting down beside him. "I don't know what's wrong with him."
Martin looked into Zoe's eyes, "maybe it was my fault Emily died.. if I hadn't.."
"None of this is your fault." Insured Zoe.
"I was hard on him. I passed the boundary," said Martin,
"He was hard on you." Reminded Zoe, "that boy needs to learn more respect."
Martin shook his head, "they saw me with her..." he moaned, "no student should see their teacher like that.."
Suddenly Cloda burst through the door in panic.
Zoe and Martin looked up,
"Ryan just collapsed." She gasped, running back out.
Zoë and Martin immediately stood up and ran towards the door. Seeing Ryan on the ground, Martin sat down beside him.
"What happened?" He asked, "did someone hurt him?"
"No. We were talking to him then he just sort of collapsed." Replied Ollie.
"Has this ever happened before?" Asked Martin, checking Martin's breathing and pulse.
"Zoe call an ambulance." Said Martin, looking up at her and handing her his phone.
Zoe unlocked the phone, looking briefly at his screensaver of the little girl that must have been his daughter. She proceeded to dial 999.
"Hi there's a seventeen year old boy, Ryan Thompson, he collapsed at Rustrike High School..." began Zoe, looking down at Martin who was obviously feeling regret for being harsh to Ryan earlier.
"Ryan?" Called Martin, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Ryan can you hear me?"
"Calm down Martin." Soothed Zoë, putting a hand on Mr McCafferson's back.
"No.. no this is on my watch."
"No it's not. He just fainted, it'll be alright."
Martin continued to look down at Ryan, before he noticed his eyes slowly opening.
"He's coming around." Said Martin, "give him some space."
"Hey mate do you remember what happened?" Asked Martin as Zoë handed him a water bottle.
Ryan looked around, shivering and shaking his head.
Martin took off his jacket, pulling it over Ryan.
Jemma looked over at Ollie, scared for their friend. Ollie nervously put his hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
"What happened?" Asked Mrs Watson running back into the music corridor.
"He just collapsed." Replied Zoë, unbuttoning her long cream coat and wrapping it over Ryan's body.
"There's an ambulance on the way." Said Zoe.
"Okay I'll call his parents." Said Mrs Watson, "Ryan Thompson?"
Everyone nodded as Bronagh walked back into her office.
Zoe swept her strawberry blonde hair behind her ears as the sound of the ambulance sirens protruded.
"Hey- you go with Ryan in the ambulance and I'll drive up in my car with the rest of the band." Said Martin, standing up and holding Zoe's arm.
Zoe nodded, blankly smiling at him, "see you there." She said,
"Yeh, see you there." He replied, walking back into the classroom and grabbing his jacket and keys as the paramedics walked onto the scene.
"Come on guys let's go." Called Martin as his keys clinked in his hands.
He jogged down the corridor to the fire exit where his navy BMW was parked outside.
Lucy, Cloda and Jemma climbed into the back seats while Ollie sat in the front.
Martin used to share this car with his wife, Emily. Hence why he was nervous in case there was still some lipstick in one of the pockets. However it wasn't lipstick that Cloda found.
"I'm really sorry about what happened in class today." Said Ollie.
"It's alright.." Sighed Martin, reversing out of the parking space. "We just need to figure out what's wrong with him."
"I hope it's not serious." Said Lucy.
Martin gulped, the thought of losing someone else nauseated him.
"He'll be alright. Probably just low blood pressure or something." He assured them.
Cloda looked at the leaflet that stuck out from the pocket of the back of the seat in front of her.
It appeared to be a funeral mass leaflet, with the same picture of the little girl that used to be on his desk with the heading, In loving memory of Martha McCafferson. Aged 4.
Cloda's mouth dropped as she poked Jemma.
Jemma made the same facial expression as she read it.
"You two alright?" Asked Martin, feeling anxious seeing their faces in the mirror.
"W-was she your daughter..?" Asked Cloda. Her green eyes wide as she held out the leaflet.
Martin looked down,
"Shit..." he muttered under his breath. Bidding himself not to cry.
He tried to focus on the road.
Ollie could see his teacher struggling to keep it together so he put his hand on Martin's shoulder.
"We've got your back, sir." Said Ollie.
Martin continued shaking, driving along the motorway behind the ambulance.
"You got any CDs?" Asked Ollie,
"In the glove box." Replied Martin, pointing to it.
Ollie opened the compartment.
"Woah that's a lotta CDs! Which one's your favourite?" He asked,
"The Beatles Sgt Pepper- absolute classic." Said Martin, cheering up slightly.
"Y'know I haven't listened to a lot of the Beatles before." Replied Ollie, finding the CD and putting it in the stereo.
"You're missing out! Best band of all time."
Ollie had a look at the back cover.
"What the hell? There's a song called 'I am the Walrus'." He laughed, making Jemma laugh too.
"Yeh... they got high sometimes." Chuckled Martin. "Good song though, I feel like it was part of the change to music nowadays.. like medieval dubstep."
Martin wiped the sweat from his brow as Ollie turned on the music.
"Do you fancy Miss Flynn?" Asked Ollie making everyone burst out laughing.
"What?!" Laughed Martin, turning up into a car park.
"Well you've never been so touchy-feely with a teacher before." Pointed out Ollie,
"I'm not touchy-feely!" Chuckled Martin, "she's a colleague and a friend.. w-w-what.?!"
The girls in that backseats kept laughing,
"You only met her like four days ago." Said Ollie,
"Oh shut up!" Laughed Martin, getting out of the car when he parked it.
Ollie got out of the car and walked beside Martin.
"She's very pretty-" Added Ollie.
"Yeh- so's Jemma." Smirked Martin, winking at Ollie.
"Oh shut up!" Laughed Ollie, giving Martin a friendly punch on the shoulder as they walked towards the hospital.
