Martin lay on the bed of the hotel with his acoustic guitar resting on his hips as he strummed some lazy chords.
Zoe lay down beside him looking at his fingers which plucked with precision and nothing but mere muscle memory.
Martin found himself playing 'Martha My Dear' again. It was a song he hadn't played since Martha was alive. In fact he barely even played any music after she died, it was like the world was supposed to be quiet for he didn't think that anything beautiful should exist without her in it.
Martin concentrated on the strings of the guitar, it was a tune he had practiced and perfected in time. Zoe's eyes moved from his fingers to his deep green sorrowful eyes. She recognised the song, and she assumed how much it meant to him.
Ollie stopped tuning his guitar and leaned against the wall listening to Martin. They never really heard Martin play guitar before, he was undoubtably amazing at the instrument, but they'd never heard so much emotion in a song. His eyes didn't move. They'd heard Martin play this song before, it was about four years ago, when the band were setting up in the morning. But the piece was sounded so happy then, the jaunting rhythm and chords. Martin would catch their eyes as he played, and he would smile. He told them that he played this song for his daughter, Martha.
But all the happiness seemed to seep out of this version. Martin's eyes looked cold and lonely, he had no one to play this song for anymore, so he just played it to himself and thought of the memories.

When he finished the song nobody knew what to say, but before he even looked up the door knocked.
Everyone looked at each other,
"I'll get it." Said Ollie, putting his guitar down and opening the door.
"Miss?!" He exclaimed.
Martin and Zoe immediately sat up and their eyes widened as they saw Mrs Watson on the threshold.
"W-what?!" Called Martin, flattening his hair over to one side to cover up his wound. "H-hello?"
"Hello guys! Just dropped in to see how you guys are doing!" Exclaimed Bronagh, looking around at everyone.
Martin stood up, putting his guitar on the bed, "how did you know we were here?"
"You texted me!" She replied, walking over to him and hugging him.
"No I didn't?" He replied as Bronagh kissed his cheek, he caught Ollie's eyes over her shoulder and gave a look of complete confusion. "Did you?" He asked Zoe,
"No- sure I only booked the place about half an hour ago." She promised.
Martin realised that Bronagh had been hugging him for far too long, he removed his arms that had been only slightly touching her back and put them back to his side.
He looked around at everyone in utter terror and confusion as Bronagh continued to hug him before, at last, she split apart.
"Can we talk somewhere private?" She asked him,
"T-the other rooms aren't ready yet." He said, still shaken by her difference in attitude.
Bronagh pointed to the bathroom, making Martin bite his lip in dread as she opened up the door and expected him to follow.
With reluctance, he did, looking down to Zoe in absolute fear as she anxiously bit her lip.

Bronagh closed the door behind him. He hadn't been in the bathroom yet; it was relatively small, forcing Martin and Bronagh to stay quite close.
Martin was unsure of her intentions, but he knew they weren't in his favour.
"I've read your messages." Bronagh began, "I'd sack you for being unprofessional if I wasn't so charmed."
Martin took a step back, "I never sent you any-"
Bronagh grabbed his collar and kissed him hard, her tongue seeping into his mouth before he slammed her immediately away.
"What are you doing?! You've got a husband!" He exclaimed,
"You had a wife, yet you've been pouring your heart out to me. Isn't this what you wanted?" She asked, trying to kiss him again, Martin pushed her away again,
"I don't know who has been messaging you but it sure as hell wasnt me!" He yelled, taking out his phone and showing her the last time he messaged her was when they set off.
"You just deleted them so Zoë wouldn't see." Said Bronagh, "you told me you weren't interested in her!"
"Who's been texting you!?" He yelled,
"You have!"
"Show me their number!"
Bronagh took out her phone and scrolled through the multiple texts from a person saved as 'Martin' had sent, Martin took her phone and looked at her contacts,
"You've got two Martin McCafferson contacts." He muttered, looking at the numbers, he took a picture of the other number with his own phone and gave her back her one.
"You should stop texting him and leave." He told her.
"It was you."
"It was not me!" He yelled,
"Then why was I told exactly where you were!?" She shouted back, trying to take his hands.
"Leave. Now!" He ordered, opening the door and pushing her out and then opening the next back into the corridor, closing the door on her face.

Martin took a deep breath before running back and flopping onto the bed, covering his face with his hands and muffling his screaming with the pillow.
"Oh my god what happened?!" Asked Ryan, sitting on the bed beside him and trying to turn Martin around.
"Can someone please eliminate the last five minutes of my life? Please." Begged Martin, sitting up and still covering his face.
"What did she do? We just heard you yelling?" Asked Cloda,
"Oh God Martin." Said Zoe, catching his eyes as he uncovered them.
"Yes, Zoë. Oh god." He replied, looking completely traumatised.
"Did she snog you?" She asked him with pitying eyes,
"Yes." He gulped, "and I pushed her away and then she tried to again."
"What?!" Yelled Jemma,
"Since when was she into you?" Asked Cloda, shocked,
"I dunno?! Some randomer had been sending her sensual texts under my name."
Martin covered his eyes again, "she's my boss! Jesus! I'm never gonna be able to remove that from my mind!" He looked over at Zoe and reached his arms out, "kiss me! Please Zoe! I don't want that last person I've kissed to be Bronagh Watson! Please!" He begged,
"I ain't kissing you! After my boss has slobbered all over you!" She laughed,
"Hey- isn't that Mrs Watson's car?" Said Lucy, pointing out the window. "It's completely smashed at the front."
Martin's mouth dropped slightly as he stood up and looked at it.
"Wait.." he began, taking out his phone and looking at Mrs Watson's number, then comparing it to the number that had been sending her the texts under Martin's name. "Oh my god.. she's mad. She's completely gone mad."
"What?" Asked Zoë,
"She's been sending herself those texts.. and I'm pretty sure it was her that crashed into us."
Martin walked over to the door and left to try and find her again.
