Two: Charlotte

I opened my eyes as I felt the ground beneath me. I looked around, noticing that I was still in an antique shop, but it was different. Things looked different. When I looked out the window, I saw that the sky was orange and black clouds were floating through the air.

What is going on? I wondered, looking over at Leo and Lara who looked just as confused as I was.

I watched as Leo stood up, looking at the mirror a few feet in front of us. He touched it and then groaned when nothing happened.

"We're stuck here..." he muttered. "Stuck in a place we have no knowledge of."

"Thank you, Captain Obvious," Lara said, standing up as well.

I still sat on the floor, staring at them as if they were crazy. How could they be arguing when the one thing we were supposed to be doing was working together. It was clear that teamwork would be needed to get back home.

"Guys, we gotta work together," I said quietly, moving to stand beside them. "Clearly we're in a world opposite of ours. We need to get answers."

Leo and Lara both looked at me in surprise.

"So what do you suggest then?" Lara asked.

"I... I don't know... We could- could try to visit our families. We could talk to them," I whispered.

"That's actually not a bad idea," Leo said before grabbing Lara and I and dragging us out of the shop.

"Wait, guys," I said.

"What?" they asked in unison.

"We have to go the opposite way of the ways that we would usually go."

"That makes sense," Leo said. "And, by the way, whose family are we visiting first?"

"Let's see Charlotte's aunt," Lara suggested.

Before I could say a word, Leo and Lara were dragging me in the direction of my aunt's house. Or at least what we thought was the direction of her house.

Why does this have to be so confusing?  I thought.

When we finally did reach my aunt's house, she took us in with surprise written in her eyes.

"You changed your clothes!" she exclaimed. "And who are your friends?"

"It's Leo and Lara, Aunty. You know them," I said.

"Leo and Lara? You told me Leo was too lazy for anyone to like and Lara was too much of a- excuse my language- tight ass," my aunt said, her look of surprise changing to one of confusion.

"I think you're mistaken," I said and rushed off with Leo and Lara to what I figured was my bedroom.

"What's with us being lazy and uptight?" Leo asked.

"I have no clue..." I muttered.

"Isn't it obvious? This world is the opposite of ours so that means our personalities are opposites here too," Lara answered.

"So, in theory, to get back home, we have to act like our alternate personalities?" I asked.

"Easy enough," Leo shrugged.

Maybe Leo was right about it being easy, but in my mind, it would be a lot more difficult. How were we supposed to act like something we weren't?
