Chapter 2

•They'll call our crimes a work of art•

As you already know, when Thursdays roll around, the weirdness of yesterday would always seems to fade away. Not this time. It seemed that what had happened the night before was too shocking, too influential, to just be forgotten in the morning.

A fourteen year old girl was dead! Believe it or not murders like this didn't usually happen in Manchester. The big question is - WHO DID IT?!
There could be possibly be only four people that could have committed this crime and all four of these are bored in maths right now.

Whilst these four are dying of boredom at the back of the classroom, the goody-good-two-shoes sat right at the front keeps reminding the teacher of the homework, no one other than her, has done. Hated and almost pitied by all is dear old Barbara Shake.

"Barb dearie, please shut up! Unless you want milkshake to be spilled all over you... AGAIN" laughed the girl behind her.

"Yeah I heard what Fiona did to you yesterday! Almost a pity no one else got to see" her equally as evil friend retorted "Don't worry babes! We took a pic!"

Presenting the Malicious Maddie Copper and the Sly Sharon (idk surname). Together with their now-dead leader Fiona Filipowski they make the most popular trio.

Enough of these horrible teenagers! It's about time you get introduced to the four girls you'll soon come to love - or hate.

However more eager than you to meet them is a young Year 7 on a mission to find the four suspects.

Through the empty corridor, you could easily imagine a shy girl walking down, trying to find the classroom where the four main characters were, totally doing their work and not messing around.

A shy knock passed by the ears of all but one girl in the classroom. Alice raised her head, excited by the disruption.

"Sir! Someone is at the door!" Alice began screaming trying to get the teachers attention as Snowabeth's silent knock hadn't got his attention.

The loud screaming woke up Oliwia from her dreamless sleep. Everyone just ignored the knock and carried on messing around, until they saw a small figure at the door.

Snowabeth Smitney entered the classroom and waited for Mr Wilbert to notice her.

Everyone was quiet but only for a few seconds, then they all started whispering, wondering who was this little girl looking for in their boring old maths classroom.

The teacher looked up to, curious as to why the excitable classroom had suddenly fallen silent, his eyes widened "Oh! Bethy, did you come for more maths?" Mr Wilbert asked happily. "It's Snowabeth" she whispered and continued talking "These four girls need to go to the headteacher" the shy Snowabeth whispered and looked down at a sheet of paper and read off four names "Oliwia Sur..amka?" Se stumbled, "How the hell are you supposed to pronounce this? Sorry I didn't mean it" She muttered.

"It's Szramka!" Someone from the class shouted out.

Snowabeth blushed and stumbled, but continued, annoyed to have been corrected, "Mahnoor Mehmood, Alice Baker and Abir Armed?" as she finished speaking her eyes swirled around, searching for the four girls.

At the sound of their names being spoken, the girls sat up, eyes wide, and turned to look at each other.

The teacher nodded "Off you go girls I am sure you are not in any trouble" before going back to marking books.

The girls stood up, grabbed their bags and walked towards to the door. As they left the classroom they realised that they might become the main gossip of the school.

They followed the young girl, who continuously tried in vain to avoid glancing back at the girls; her anxious expression, normal of year 7s, didn't give anything away. All four of the girls were scared, excited and hopeful.

"I bet you're all in trouble. You year 10s are always getting in trouble." Young Snowabeth warned.

Mahnoor rolled her eyes, "Stop being prejudiced! You should respect your elders."

"Oh my God I am so scared" Oliwia added sarcastically as Mahnoor argued with her new 'friend'.

They were all heading towards the headteachers office, wondering what they've done and why they all got called out at the same time.

Abir, who was not as familiar with the head teacher's office as the rest of the girls, became overwhelmed and fainted without warning.

"Abir!!! Don't die!!! I never got to confess my love to you!" Alice launched herself over to Abir, laughing as she tried to shake her back to consciousness.

"Don't be so dramatic, that's my job!" Mahnoor spoke up as she opened the bottle of water she was holding, which she then suddenly tipped over Abir's head, covering her in icy water.

"What? Huh? Agh!" Abir spluttered and sat up, rubbing her eyes as she  looked around. "I just had a terrible dream! You guys were there too!" Abir blurted out.

"You had a terrible dream because we were there?! We made your dream bad?" Mahnoor questioned pretending to be hurt.

"Yes,I mean No! I mean We all got called to the headteacher's office in my dream!" Sudden realisation flashes across her face as she saw the serious look on her friends faces, which was unusual."Ohh..." She stammered, rubbing her head.

"Yep. It was all real" Oliwia confirmed. Abir's eyes widened, she began to fall back, her legs wobbling.

"Abir! I'll catch you!" Alice rushed over and pulled Abir back up. "Ouch, that's a big bump on your head" She murmured sympathetically.

"Yeah, concrete is hard" Oliwia joked. In the midst of all the panic and Abir fainting, the four girls had nearly forgotten about the awkward presence of Snowabeth.

She coughed to raise their attention then gestured towards the door behind her.

"We've arrived. Enjoy your punishment. I'm going back to Drama." She mumbled and wandered away.

"Aw, remember when we had Drama before we had to choose our options in year 8?" Alice whispered whimsically.

"Now our whole life is drama."

Oliwia knocked and they all waited for the doors to open. The doors slowly opened and the girls spotted the familiar smile of Dr. Mclinnon appeared behind the door, letting the girls in.

"Hello girls! Come in, come in! Take a seat."

The girls obliged, looking around anxiously.

The headmistress walked past them and sat calmly behind her desk.

The girls relaxed slightly and Oliwia spoke up.

"Heyo Jo! Did you miss me so much you had to call me up here? You should trust me to make trouble on my own."

"Now, now Livy, not everything revolves around you!" Dr Mclinnon said with her thick Scottish accent. "Actually, it wasn't me that called you four here, it was the Inspector."

Confused, the girls turned to the side of the room. There, appearing from the shadows as if summoned by the headmistresses words, stood the Inspector.

He moved towards them, his feet thudding against the carpeted floor. Slamming his hands onto the desk, he glared at the four girls.

"My names is Inspector Ikbal and I know what you did last night."

The girls glanced at each other with confusion.

"Wh-what did we do last night?" Mahnoor asked skeptically.

Dr Jo raised her eyebrows in an authoritarian manner.

"They signed up to the careers in policing conference, of course Mr Ikbal." She interrupted quickly.

A strange look passed across the inspectors face, but he soon composed himself.

"Yes. Of course. Girls, I'm here to take you to a conference at your local Police Station. Come with me to the van waiting outside."

Dr Jo smiled and waved the girls off, "Have fun! It's a great honour to be selected for this trip."

The girls, who were just as confused as before, shrugged and followed the Inspector out.

One of them knew she had managed to frame the rest. All she had to do now was get the police of her back and completely trap her friends in her web of lies.

Abir fearfully walked along and looked at her friends "Police? We never signed up for any conference." She whispered to her self and fainted again.

"The police van will be here soon. If you could refrain from fainting for just five more minutes then this would make this trip a hell of a lot easier" He growled, his icy voice with contempt.

The girls shivered and quickly became silent. The sullen inspector turned around and stood still, waiting patiently. Alice held Abir upright, not wanting to anger Ikbal any more than they already heave. Whereas Mahnoor and Oliwia looked at each other, communicating silently.

"Trip time!! Are you sure it's a conference or maybe you heard about how amazing we are and  want us to work for you?" Oliwia got excited.

"Quiet." Ikbal growled. "I've seen your private record and let me say I'm definitely not impressed."

They know that, whatever they had done to get attention from the police was not good. It had to be something serious.

But what could it be?
