I groggly opened my eyes and look around. I was in a cage in the back of a pickup truck. "Mi amiga, why are we capturing this- this ghost!" Someone said. His voice was deep, masculine. His muscles bulge as he talks to his comrade. "Mike, no one would believe us! We need data! We need them to know about 'Somos Immortales'!" A female voice said. I thought for a second. "You're not immortals if your a human." I informed. "Look who's talking. You're a fucking ghost. You're immortal!" Mike snapped back.

"Look, what did I do to you?" A pause, "And get me out of this damn cage!" Mike shook his head in disbelief. "What's your name? 'm Mike and this lady here," he points to her, "is Lydia." I thought for a second. "I'm Jacob." "Where are you from?" I opened my mouth to answer. Nothing came out.

"I don't know." I whispered. Mike glanced at Lydia. "We'll get you back home. Somehow." Then a light shone on my eyes. Lydia turned on her flashlight and I could see Mike more. He has dark brown hair, striking light blue eyes, and a smile that could take down a puppy by its cuteness. His muscles were strong, he could lift up a car if he had to. My heart fluttered.

Was this love?

I-I cannot remember.

"I-How?" I regained my voice. Mike shrugged. "We might take you back to heaven." Another pause. "Or Hell." Mike cleared his throat. He reached over the seat and unlocked me. I clambered out and dusted myself. "What do you remember, Kid?" Lydia asked. "Nothing. I woke up under a burning building. I can touch things," I pick up a handful of sand. "I can taste. Maybe smell, but there's nothing but sand here. What to smell?" Lydia and Mike looked at each other.

"What?" I demanded.

"We were there. We saw that building collapse. Our friend was there too."

I looked at the sand.

"What did they look like?"

"Blonde hair. Piercing green eyes. A nose like mine. I mean, he looked like my father!"

I frowned. Someone was there with me and I just left him!

"I'm sorry for your loss, Mike. You too Lydia."

"'S not your fault Jacob. Gabe did this to him." He growled. Gabe... Why does that name sound so familiar? "Why do I feel like it is." I muttered. "Hey," Mike put his hand on my shoulder, the touch radiating through my body, "You don't remember anything. How do you know?" He reassured.

I shrugged, feeling a little better. Lydia grabbed two sleeping bags. "I only have two. Someone might be sleeping in the truck." I volunteered, but Mike refused. "We can stand it. Go sleep in the truck." Mike set his sleeping bag down as I grabbed mine. I laid beside him. The stars covered the night sky. "Look at those stars." I said in wonder.

Mike chucked and moved towards me. His piercing eyes shone to mine. "They're wonderful." I smiled. We moved closer to each other. Mike put his arm on my waist. It was warm against my cold body. "Good night Jacob."

"Good night Mike."
