Chapter 18

The next morning the couple woke up around 10am. Jackson was peacefully laying in Mark's arms, his head on Mark's chest, arm around Mark's torso and his leg across Mark's, his mouth slightly agape and snoring softly.

Mark is holding Jackson closely, his hand resting in Jackson's brown soft hair. He too, was still asleep but not for long. Mark felt a slight ache in his stomach, causing him to wince a little and wake up from his sleep. His eyebrows furrow as he opens his eyes and squishes them close when he notices the brightness of the room they were in.

Mark feels another ache in his stomach, causing him to groan softly. He is cautious because he doesn't want to wake Jackson up. He remembers he hasn't eaten in a while and that's probably also why his stomach is aching like a bitch.

Then he remembers why he hasn't eaten for a while, the memory flashes back in front of him when he remembers Jackson's pretty sweaty face underneath him.

He smiles softly at the memory they made together yesterday evening. He can't love his boyfriend more than he does now, or maybe he can, but he doesn't know that since this is the most attraction he has ever had to someone before. He would do anything to keep this feeling and to protect Jackson, he can't let anything happen to him.

Mark looks down at Jackson and starts brushing his hair with his fingers. The younger doesn't notice and keeps on sleeping soundly. Mark loves moments like his, them just being there, together. As if anything and everything is meant to be like this. Screw that, everything is meant to be like this, Mark truly, deeply believes that.

After a while though, Mark gets a little bored and more hungry. His stomach starts to growl loudly and he can't do anything against it. His stomach has its own will and it will not shut up until it has some food inside.

Mark tries to quiet his stomach down, by putting pressure on it or to even not think about food, but nothing is helping. He needs to get up and he needs to get some food. He knows he needs to but he also doesn't want to wake Jackson up. His boyfriend must be so tired, maybe in general but also maybe because of last night. Mark decides not to dwell on it before the thought causes a boner. And now he has gotten the real deal he isn't sure if his hand will do.

Mark softly shakes Jackson, in hope he will stir awake. He notices it doesn't work because Jackson keeps sleeping, if not sleeping in more, because the way he snuggled against Mark more really makes it seem he is almost falling in a deeper state of sleeping than actually waking up. Mark shakes Jackson again, but this time a little rougher, also calling his name after a couple of times.

Jackson only now stirs awake and opens his eyes slowly, also squishing them together when he notices how bright it is in their bedroom. Mark finds Jackson's facial expression adorable and can't just help but chuckle slightly. Jackson turns his face to Mark and reaches up to pull him in for a morning kiss.

Their lips touch and the kiss is soft and slow. Their lips just moving against each other, they both close their eyes and Mark cups Jackson's face with one hand, pulling him in a little more. The kiss is sweet and when they pull away Jackson just stares into Mark's eyes for a second, Mark staring right back at him. They smile at each other, completely caught up in their own world.

They give each other a quick peck on the lips and giggle a little bit. Just from how domestic and lovingly the situation is. "So how did my beautiful boyfriend sleep?" Mark asks, his hand still cupping Jackson's face and his thumb stroking Jackson's cheek. Jackson leans in to the touch and lets out a breath. "It couldn't be better." He answers and smiles at Mark.

Mark's stomach rumbles once again and Mark's eyes widen, blushing a little out of embarrassment. "Seems like someone is hungry." Jackson teases. Mark laughs and playfully pushes Jackson, Jackson laughs too and gives him a sweet smile.

"Is that why you woke me up?" Jackson continues.

"Yeah, I am pretty hungry actually."

"Well, let's get out of bed and make some food then. I could eat too."

They both get out of bed and put some clothes on, or well, more like sleeping attire. They walk down the stairs and Mark immediately goes into the kitchen, heading for the fridge, seeing if there is anything edible in there. Jackson on the other hand, walks to the kitchen table where he spots his phone and he grabs it to check it.

"Oh right, Mark, don't forget we need to pick my uncle up from the airport later." Jackson yells his way. He replies to his uncle's text about when he is arriving at the airport so Jackson knows what time to pick him up.

"Oh! Yes I remember now. What time do we need to pick him up?"

"Just in a couple of hours, but we have a enough time."

"Okay babe, just tell me when you want to head there." Jackson blushes at that, still not really used to the word babe, especially not when Mark pronounces it in English, his American accent rolling from his tongue as he says the word.

Mark prepares breakfast, being some cooked eggs on toast with fruit on the side and some delicious coffee. During the preparation there are back hugs and loads of kisses shared. Causing the eggs to almost burn, but fortunately Mark smells it just in time.

They get ready to head to the airport, Jackson and Mark both putting in some effort. Mark because he wants to impress Jackson's uncle, because he wants to let him see he is capable of being a good boyfriend. He wants to prove he can take care of Jackson and is a good person to be around with. Mark makes sure everything is styled perfectly. His shoes neatly tied -which he usually doesn't take the effort to- , his hair neatly styled and his outfit on point. Although it still seems casual it is also not too casual.

Jackson puts in a lot of effort because he wants to let his uncle know he is doing well. He wants to let him see Mark and him are a good couple and that he loves Mark a lot.

Besides putting a lot of effort in, Jackson is also very excited. He can't wait to tell his uncle all about his life at the moment, his amazing friends, his amazing boyfriend and how much he loves staying here. He can't wait to show his uncle around Seoul, show him all the little secret places he has discovered over the last couple of years. Aswell as show him all the huge, touristy places.

They are currently waiting at the airport. They have found their way to the gate Jackson's uncle will go through in a little while. Because they were early they managed to get a spot all the way up to the front, which for Jackson is great. He is bouncing on his feet because he is so excited.

There is a nervous but also exciting feeling in his stomach which is weighing him down unconsciously. Mark and Jackson even bought a red "welcome" balloon when they arrived. Jackson also had bought a bouquet of flowers to welcome his uncle. Now, he knew his uncle probably wouldn't take the flowers back to Hong Kong, but it was worth a try.

Mark is standing right next to Jackson, his arm wrapped around the younger's waist, watching Jackson's facial expression. He has never seen Jackson so happy, he did not even look this happy when he won the fencing game months ago.

It makes Mark smile, seeing Jackson so happy and excited. He, himself, is a bit nervous because he doesn't want to make a bad impression.

Now, Mark and Jackson both know Mark has a fear of making bad impressions. He feared it when he first met Jackson, which of course was proven incorrect, because look at where they are now.

Of course, that doesn't mean Mark's feelings towards the subject have lessened, because they didn't but Jackson had made sure he would do just fine when they were on their way to the airport. It had calmed Mark down for that moment, but now, as the moment of meeting Jackson's uncle got closer and closer, he starts to become nervous again. A ball of anxiousness weighing him down, his throat drying and his smile dropping a little bit. Jackson doesn't notice it.

Mark turns his gaze to the gate and people start walking out. Jackson looks and moves frantically to see if he can see his uncle coming through. But after the first couple of people walking out there is no one for a little while. Jackson starts to get impatient but that of course doesn't lessen him being excited and extraverted as always.

They wait for an even longer while, the people around them are slowly going away. They take their families and friends in their arms and then they quickly move away from the scene, heading towards the exit. The other people are just people that came back from vacation and they pass through quickly, you barely even notice them being there.

Jackson's mood starts to drop and he worries if he isn't at the wrong gate. He checks the information on his phone once again, but it says 6B like it always did in the first place. Jackson checks it a couple more times, like he wants the information on his phone to change. But it doesn't. It always says gate 6B.

"Maybe we should ask someone." Jackson tells Mark. Mark nods and they head out to look for an information point. There is one pretty nearby and as soon as they arrive they are met with a pretty old lady, maybe mid-sixties, sitting there in her airport attire, reading an old magazine. They great the lady and she smiles at them both.

"What can I help you with?" She asks politely.

"We are looking for the gate where the direct flight from Hong Kong has arrived." Jackson tells the lady.

"Let me see.." she says and starts ticking away on the computer besides her, searching for the correct information. "It should be gate 6B, but honey, the airplane is already making itself ready to go back again, everyone has already left the plane."

Jackson's smile fades, his face becomes pale and he is in shock. It can't be, right? His uncle must be here somewhere. The lady looks at them both, not sure what to do either.

"Thank you for the information, we'll try to contact the person we're looking for, thank you." Mark says and turns away from the lady, grabbing Jackson and leading them to the nearest bench.

"It can't be right, Mark? He must be here somewhere, right?" Jackson looks at him distressed, he sounds panicked and he has never seen Jackson in shock like this before.

"Try to call him, maybe he picks up and he can tells us where he is."

Jackson tries calling him, several times. He doesn't get an answer. He pressures himself to call over and over again, not wanting to know what happens if he stops trying. He even tries calling his uncle with Mark's phone but the line on the other side seems dead.

They walk around different gates, wait for another gate where there is supposed to be another connecting flight from Hong Kong landing, but without success. They wait around the old gate for a while, new people gathering up with smiles on their faces, waiting for their friends and family. But then again, Jackson is disappointed when all those people have left too. They realize Jackson's uncle is unfindable.

Jackson can't help but burst in to tears. He is so worried, he feels horrible and his anxiousness and worriedness for where his uncle is keeps increasing. He doesn't know what to do. His heart is beating out of his chest, his eyes are droopy, his nose is running and his face has flushed all red from the crying.

Mark tries comforting him, holding him closely as Jackson softly mutters some words he can't understand. He rocks him back and forth, loads of people are staring at them as they pass by but Mark just glares at him.

Mark tries to come up with a plan to find Jackson's uncle, because he hates seeing his boyfriend like this. It hurts him too, because he is helpless and the only thing that'll make Jackson better is to find his uncle.

Jackson calms down a bit after a while, it's been three hours since the first people started coming out of gate 6B and Mark decides it's time to take the matter in his own hands. His heart is aching seeing his boyfriend like this. He can't even remember the last time Jackson was this upset. He stands up and Jackson looks at him weirdly.

"What are you going to do?" He asks, voice shaky and breathing out loudly.

"We're going back to the lady and we're going to ask her if she can look up where your uncle is and in which plane he was supposed to be."

But instead of standing up Jackson pulls Mark back in again. Mark wraps his arms around Jackson out of reflex and Jackson lays his head on Mark's shoulder, hugging him closely.

"I am just so worried, what the hell happened to him Mark?" His voice is desperate and soft, calling Mark's voice in a way he has never done before. He is so emotional that he can't control his voice anymore, it just comes out like that.

"I don't know Jackson, but there is only one way to find out and that is to go to that lady, okay?" Jackson nods. Mark wipes Jackson's tears with his sleeve and kisses his temple. "It'll be alright, we'll figure it out." He says softly. Jackson notices the softness and need in Mark's voice. Jackson seems to notice that Mark really cares about this issue, and he appreciates it but he can't bring it in to words right now. He needs to find his uncle first.

They walk to the information point again and they are greeted by the same lady.

"No luck yet guys?" She asks. She seems the notice the look on Jackson's face and she furrows her brows, looking like a worried grandma.

"In all the years I have worked here I have never seen someone so devastated as you young man, is there anything I could do to help?"

"Yes, actually there is, could you maybe look up if someone with the last name Wang has been on an airplane towards this airport today?" Mark asks the lady before Jackson can even answer.

Jackson looks at the lady hopefully. He hopes she can bring him some good news. He can only hope there has been a misunderstanding and that this was all for nothing and will be long forgotten in the future.

"Officially I can't do that, but because you seem desperate I will try it. What was the name again?"

Mark tells the lady Jackson's uncle's name and she looks it up. She is quiet for a while, she is busy staring at the screen in front of her, her mouse clicking away, her wrist moving a lot to move the mouse and her gaze concentrating on the screen.

About five minutes later, she still hasn't given any information yet, besides a 'wait a minute' and 'I am almost there'. Jackson and Mark exchange worried looks, neither of them talking but Mark holding Jackson as closely and comforting as he can, both of their heads hanging low.

"Okay, I think I have found it," the lady finally says. Jackson and Mark perk up, change a quick look with each other and look at the lady expectantly.

"The weird thing is," she begins, "there is a record of him having a plane ticket reserving a seat on a plane today, the one you asked me about earlier. But he never checked in."

"So?"

"He has never boarded the plane, he isn't here."

"What?"
