Chapter Six

"Finally," I breathed as the bell rang for the last period of the day. The last period until September when I'm a senior in high school. It was officially summer, and the burdens of school work and testing rose off my shoulders like the wings on an angel. It was a beautiful thing.

But it wasn't as beautiful as the sight of leaving the building, shrinking from its original size as my mother drove off down the road. I won't be in there for about two months, and the glory of it all was better than getting rid of Harry Styles.

He hasn't bothered me in a week. The week after my finals were done, he disappeared and if I catched glipse of him on Saturday nights, and he saw me, he'd do his best to avoid me with an obvious, huge scowl on his face. I could tell that bitch that I'm not pleased either. It wasn't my fault he showed up at my house claiming he needed help when really he was trying to push my buttons.

Oops, sorry I shed a tear of anger around you, asshole.

I was off punishment though it still felt like complete Hell. Another month, and in August I'll be eighteen. I could drop out of school, but I knew better than that. Although the thought seems tempting, I'm not willing to end up like Harry, especially because my family isn't rich like his. I'm not a total idiot even though my mom's convinced herself I am and I have no idea what sex is.

Apparently she hasn't heard of health class before. Back in her time, it wasn't a good thing to be taught these things.

When I got home, I threw my bag on my bed and myself afterwards. I was exhausted and not in the mood to babysit Willie because my parents were in the mood to screw each other tonight. The thought made me want to puke a little, and I swear I felt the hot bile rise up my throat before I swallowed it back down.

Everyone was out tonight, and I wasn't going to do anything. I know Clary won't be visiting me tonight with the rest of her precious clique because she texted me there was an insane party. It was funny how every other party thrown was insane. It was Renee's party this time.

Renee Beikin was a super skinny girl with nothing in the front nor any "junk in the trunk". Somehow people thought she was attractive. Sure she was pretty, but she'd throw herself onto any guy. One time she came rushing to me so I could join her and go to the "special clinic" to get a check up. I told her to go to that gynocologist and herself checked because I'm sure too much d*ck was bad for you.

Obviously, she didn't take the hint.

It's not that I didn't like her, because she was one of my friends, yet she came off as a bit too much sometimes. She irritated me at odd times when I'm at my happiest. Renee always seems to disagree with everything I have to say. I never really came to her for anything just because of that.

I sighed deeply, feeling upset that I was left out of all the fun. Elliot can't come and cover for me because he's at a late evening church class he was forced to go to. I'm a little concerned my mom will get ideas from Elliot's and take me along those Friday night classes to get my brain washed with things I didn't really care about; to be completely honest.

My bedroom door suddenly swung open. "Serenity," my mother called from the door.

I didn't want to sit up and turn to her, but I knew she'd comment if I didn't. Rolling my eyes, I turned my body over to face her stolid face. She always had a serious expression plastered on her face around me. I don't know what her problem was with me, but she refused to think anything I said was funny nor did she tolerate my explanation -- always saying I was "back mouthing" her. Well guess what mom, I was back mouthing something else the other night.

"Yes, mother?" I breathed, almost sounding sarcastic. But I held that in, trying to suppress my annoyance with something more appropriate to her. I brought it upon myself to do everyone in town a favor by cutting back on my "talking back" so they didn't have to watch my mom shower me in holy water at the church. You'd think I was joking. Ha. Not really.

"We're going to the mall. Doing some shopping for new clothes. You know you need a new dress for Sandra's little gathering she has every year around this time," she rambled, leaning her hand against my door. "She's always been envious of our family. That woman needs quite help, God forgive me."

I wanted to roll my eyes so much that they'd fall off. This was worse than being glued to a Roman statue naked for all the foreign people to see. They'd broadcast it all over the world, too. My boobs on full view for everyone. Too cool, really.

She is so oblivious. Sandra is envious of her and my dad, of course. That old, saggy woman has had a crush on my dad for about six years now, the total amount we've lived across from her. Ever since she moved in, she's had it in for my mother and casually flirts with my dad on the spot. Seriously, my mom can't get any more stupid than this.

"Okay. I'll get ready." There was no way I was going to the mall in a long ass skirt. Hell no.

My mom frowned. "What? You look fine. Let's go."

"Mom," I began, already groaning.

"Stop, Serenity. You look fine. Now let's go before I change my mind." She snapped hastily, sighing heavily and muttering about how disobedient I am. I want to reach to my wonderful complexion and be able to rip my face off because I don't want anyone ever seeing me again after this trip to the mall.

I wouldn't say my mother is totally abusive but she is a crazy bitch. She's psychotic. I know many "adolescent" brats think the same thing of theirs. But I'm saying, if you've ever spent more than ten minutes my mom you'd come to the conclusion to even bother to question God why she's on this planet. And that may be really horrible, but sometimes I'm certain that my questioning will one day be answered.

Wasting no time, I got off my bed and joined my parents down by the front door. They were all dressed casually. My mother in her usual long skirt and old lady flats, old lady hairstyle -- which isn't much help for your imagery, but you get the point -- and her old lady shirt. We looked like servants from the 19th century.

My dad, though, was the only one that looked reasonable. My entire family is so ridiculous I can't put together how their minds work. I'm the only functioning being in this family and I'm the one on drugs and having sex all around. Please, I'm a precious logical segment of your genes. The rare savior of the generations to come. I'm definitely not raising my kids like my mom does with me and Willie.

I didn't have a purse. No makeup on. Not a trace of fashionable sense of style. By the long, pink skirt I had on and the irritating yellow blouse that felt like it was choking my neck, you could tell I was probably the loser virgin at school.

"Okay, so we're going to be heading into different shops. Serenity, you may be able to shop at a few stores on your own. Get yourself appropriate things. I will give you money as your budget. I don't have time to go around to every store with you and then Willie." My mother explained as he began the painfully slow drive to the mall.

I sat in the back seat lazily, not motivated to shop whatsoever.

"And your father and I will accompany Willie, of course. Then we'll meet at the food court at eight and maybe eat at one of those restuarant you like, Serenity. I feel as you've been punished enough." Through the rear mirror, she sent me a genuine smile.

My whole life with you is a punishment.

I tossed her a faint smile, feeling my stomach quench in frustration and the reality that I couldn't say anything to her. My feelings were nothing to her, but she was still my mother.

On the other hand, I'm glad we're not going to be sharing an eventful shopping spree together. They're letting me shop on my own, which is so rare that the deserts in California will be showered with snow.

When we got there, I was the first to exit the car and step out into the parking lot.

"Alright, Serenity," my father spoke, digging into his pocket. He leant down to whisper in my ear as my mother took Willie out of his car seat. "I'm giving you one fifty. Another fifty wouldn't kill your mother." He sent me a wink and a smile.

I grinned at him, taking the money from his hands and holding it tightly against my hand. "Thanks, dad."

We went our seperate ways into the mall. I wanted to start at JCPenny's and then head to somewhere like Forever 21. But I knew for a fact that my wishes were destroyed because I bought anything my mother thought was "inappropriate" I'd be punished once again.

Shopping for things that aren't to any use for me wasn't my forte. Obviously anyone with a brain would find a trick to this. With the fifty I wasn't supposed to get I'm going to buy something that's actually tasteful. Anything that is too low cut from the neckline and anything that reveals my legs is absolutely inappropriate to my mother.

I felt relieved when I reached JCPenny's with the cash still in my fist. I started searching through racks of clothes through the juniors area for girls. My frown became deeper the longer the seconds took the longer the minutes became. I groaned by fifteen minutes. Nothing.

I didn't even like JCPenny's. If I could, I'd shop at Kalvin Klein or something of good quality. Fancy brands? Please. I wish I could, but as a daughter in a middle class family, things had to have a line that couldn't be crossed.

My thoughts suddenly were flowing like rivers as I caught the sight of the lingerie area for women, little girls, or even teens. I think I'm certain I'll buy good underwear with the fifty. Underwear that wasn't embarrassing at all. If you're seventeen with underwear that still had carebears on them, I'm praying for you.

"Finally, something I'd enjoy to buy." I muttered to myself, walking towards the section to realize that I had to use the escalators to get to the nice, sexy stuff. I'm being bold by going in this section looking like a fucking nun.

My face paled as I was walking towards the escalator just to see my mother on it with Willie and my father. If they saw me at the lingerie section, they'd kill me. I'd be tied to a branch and hung over flames like a fat pig.

I bit my lip in irritation before making a run to the elevator to my left. I knew I was going to get my ass caught if I didn't take the elevator. The running across to a different section will bring too much attention to myself.

Once I was in the elevator, I sighed with my back to the rest of the shop. No one else was going to the elevator, so I sighed in relief again after inhaling a large amount of air. The doors closed, and that's when I felt the bloody tug at my skirt. My eyes widened as I turned, seeing my skirt was caught between the clothes doors of the elevator.

I began to tug with panic clear in my face, trying to get my nasty skirt to slip away from the two elevator doors.

And then I heard a rip.

A rip.

Like the longet, most frightening sound a girl could ever hear from fabric in both situations. I gulped, eyes wide as I saw the fabric literally rip off the rest that was still around my waist. I shrieked in horror.

"No, no, no," I whispered to myself, pressing my lips together and wincing as I witnessed the huge front part of my skirt that was completely torn off. My underwear with pink hearts on it on full view to anyone who would stop the elevator next.

I looked up at the elevator signalling which level I am at. How am I supposed to go into the store again? With my skirt torn off at the front? My embarrassing underwear in sight for everyone to laugh at?

"Well f*ck my life!" I screamed, growling and not even paying attention that the numbers on the little thingy over there were not increasing...they were decreasing.

The doors opened as I continued to throw a tantrum. And then there he stood, the ding of the elevator bringing his eyes from his phone that he was scrolling on to my face. His curls were pushed back, a band of a bag around his wrist. It read "Gucci" and I knew he'd shop somewhere so..."rich."

My mouth went dry, eyes wide as Harry let his green eyes travel down to my fabric covered va*gina. I wanted to scream because I was wearing the worst underwear in my freaking life, and the guy I hate is witnessing it all.

Harry threw his head back laughing, literally crouching down as he spit and chocked in utter amusement. "Oh my god," he breathed, a hand on the tiled floor of the mall in need for a breath.

"Yes, choke." I shrieked, literally about to cry once more because this is Satan and God working together for the first time to make my life Hell.

He got back up clumsily, gasping for air. His pink cheeks made me want to crush his face with hammers and throw him in a pit of fire.

"Nice underwear, baby." He couldn't hold the outburst of laughter. It was actually cute but I was too busy getting angry and crying about it on the inside. He looked up at my face, pretty obvious by my glassy eyes that I was going to cry. "Not this shit again," he muttered.

I shook my head. "Stop! Don't tell me not to cry 'cause I'll just cry more." I whined, not even caring I sounded like a kindergartener. Or like Willie. The elevator doors were about to close, and I thank God I'd lose sight of him. But unforunately he made it through as the doors closed.

"Serenity," he said, laughing lightly. "What the fu*k happened to your skirt?"

"It got caught on the doors!" I wailed, crying loudly like a little toddler. My throat had that annoying lump in it and it hurt to try and close my jaw. So my lips was parted as I cried. I sniffled as Harry sighed, shaking his head. I could still see the slight curve in his lips. He was enjoying this.

I harshly slapped his bare arm. His warm skin was so freaking tempting to throw myself against but I didn't want to look like more of a fool than I already am. He wore a black t-shirt, black skinny jeans with holes in them at the knees, and a pair of run-down brown boots.

"Stop laughing!" I wailed again.

Harry placed his hand on my shoulder, but I slapped it off because really I hate him. And any skin contact -- even though his is heavenly -- is necessary to avoid. A frown laced his lips, though his eyes still read pure hysterics. He was still tyring not to laugh at me.

"You've lost your damn skirt, nun!" He shouted, laughing louded and leaning against the elevator. He thinks he's so funny, but really I'm about to murder him with his freaking Gucci store bag. He breathed out, shaking his head and hearing the ding of the elevator. My heart dropped. "I know we hate each other, but I can't let you go out there like that."

I turned to look at him, dried tears on my redenned cheeks. "You would do that for me?" I asked gently, stunned by his words.

Harry rolled his eyes. "Watch." He went over to the buttons of the elevator, and the idiot slid his large hands down, pressing every single one.

My eyes widened. "That's just gonna stop anywhere!"

"Gives us time to change you into some jeans I just bought," he said nonchalantly.

"Honestly, do you think I'm going to fit into your jeans?" I spat, crossing my arms over my chest. I should be glad he's at least trying to help. He really is an idiot.

Harry turned looking at me with his pretty eyes. "You're not that fat."

I gasped, my heart shattering. My voice broke into a tiny whimper. Eyes wide and big. "Did...did you just call me fat?" New tears begin to sting at my eyes.

His eyes widened this time. "NO! No! Of course not!" He shouted, hands now in his hair like he does when he's frustrated. "Why are you so emotional? I didn't...I-I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Shit!"

"Okay, okay," I breathed, hands away from my body as I tried to stop our rambling. The elevator could stop anywhere right now and my underwear was still in clear shot. Thank God Harry hasn't decided to bring up the fact that we hate each other or that I wear these underwears. "I have to change into something."

Harry looked into his bag, reaching in to grab out a pair of boxers. "My jeans will fall off you...off your skinny body. Okay? You're not fat and I didn't mean to even...like I didn't meant to fucking hurt your feelings about being over-weight...which you're not! Obviously. But li---"

"Shut up, please," I laughed nervously, reaching for the boxers...no matter how ridiculous I'd look in them. "I'll wear these like they were shorts. They're black. No one's gonna know..." I muttered shakily.

"I wasn't minding your underwear, either, so." He had to comment. He just had to. I sent him a cold glare, rolling my eyes when he chuckled. "You're cute, little girl underwear."

"Be quiet," I shot at him, sighing heavily as I took off my ripped skirt, and replaced it with his boxers. The tank top I wore came in handy, white beneath as I unbuttoned my shirt and it felt like I was wearing casual clothes...with boxers as booty shorts.

"They look nice. Love your peachy butt," Harry nodded his head as he stared at the precious part of my body he seemed to have an attraction to rather than what's watermelon-like on my chest.

"How am I gonna explain this to my mom?" I gasped at the realization. My hands went to cover up my face.

Harry grasped them in his own, grinning down at me with his sexy face and his cute lips making me want to die. Here I was with the one guy I really, absolutely hate and he hates me. But now he managed to see my bottom half naked and he's been Satan's child since the day we met.

But he helped me.

For some reason I am not sure of.

"Just tell her...we had sex in the elevator and I ripped your long skirt off," he spoke with that teasing look on his face.

"If anything having sex in an elevator is so not classy," I laughed, rolling my eyes.

"Right...I agree. Maybe like the dressing room at JCPenny's. Which is where I should take you so you can get a pair of jeans so you're mom won't kill you." He said nonchalantly, still grinning down at me.

I huffed, eyeing him suspiciously. "Why are you being nice to me?"

"What? I'm not an asshole all the time." He scoffed playfully.

I found myself looking into his pretty eyes. "This is odd," I whispered. "Is there a catch?"

"No catch. Unless...you're willing to flash me for my generosity," he smirked.

I groaned, pushing him away from me as the elevator dinged. I smiled afterwards as we left towards JCPenny's junior section where I first started. "Thanks, Harry."

As we walked, he wrapped an arm around my shoulder, lazy grin on his face like he knew I was currently glaring at his gesture. "No problem, baby."

I scowled. "Not your baby." I sang.

"Wait till you flash me them t*its, God," he groaned in my ear, making me gasp and push his face away from me.

"Harry, quit it," I rolled my eyes in disgust.

And all he did was pinch my butt, and laugh before I chased him into JCPenny's girl juniors section.

sorry for not updating in the longest time! came up with the skirt caught in elevator skit out of nowhere!
