Dr. Light immediately spit out the coffee he was trying to drink. "What did you say, Rock!?" "I said I'll stop them!" Said Rock, "The police have given up, the city is about to give Wily what he wants, and the robot Masters are still under forceful control. We can't just give up! Someone has to do something about it, so I'm going to deal with Wily! I'll do whatever it takes!"

"Are you insane!" Exclaimed Roll, "they're industrial Robots! You're a human boy! They might not kill you on purpose, but they could still easily hurt you! What makes you think you should go!?" "Because I am human!" Said Rock, "since my brain isn't artificial, then Wily can't just take control of me, should I get captured."

While Rock and Roll continued to argue, Light stroked his beard. He was obviously thinking about something. "You're both right," said Dr. Light, causing the two to quickly stop their bickering. "Say what!?" The two said in unison. "Rock, I hate to say this, but sometimes things like this must be done..." Dr. Light began, "I'm going to have to give you some upgrades if you even hope to stand a chance against the Robot Masters." "Upgrades?" Asked Rock, "what do you mean?" "Follow me," said Dr. Light, pointing towards the lab.

Once inside, Light motioned for Rock to lay his robotic arm on the work table. After that, he pulled out the old blueprints to Proto man and laid them next to Rock's arm. "First off, you're going to need a weapon to hold your own against Wily's army, so I'm modifying your arm so you can use a buster," explained Dr. Light, "don't worry, you'll be able to switch between buster mode and hand mode." After an hour or so, Light finally finished the buster upgrade, however right before he did, Rock noticed him adding a micro chip that wasn't in the original blueprints. "What's that for?" Asked Rock. "It's a special upgrade that allows you to do something useful after you fight a robot Master, I'll explain it better when you do," said Dr. Light.

However it was still going to take more than a buster to take on Wily, so while Rock practiced in a makeshift shooting range, Dr. Light was hard at work in his lab.

After a week had passed, Dr. Light finally showed Rock what he had been working on. "I call it, the mega suit," said Dr. Light, "this suit is made from a light-weight, durable material so you can protect yourself while moving quickly. The helmet comes equipped with a long range communicator should you need any help, and a visor that can help you breath underwater. And the boots allow you to jump higher than an average human." "So it could make him a Mega Man?" Asked Roll jokingly. Rock rolled his eyes and carefully put the mega suit on, it was a perfect fit. "The suit will also let you travel through the robot teleportation network, or the RTN," said Doctor Light, "each Robot Master is at a different corner of the city, be careful which one you choose to fight first." "I-I have to fight them?" Asked Rock. "I'm afraid so," said Doctor Light, "but don't worry, I'll be able to repair them, and restore them to their former selves. Rock nodded, and carefully used the computer to program the coordinates to one of the robot Master locations, before warping away.

"Be careful, Rock," said Dr. Light, as he watched the blue beam disappear into the sky.
