More bots

Note: This is occurring around the same time as "Hide and Seek". Dr. Light and the doctors have some important discussions about the impact Wily had on them all...

"Thank you Roll for showing us the lab. Why don't you clean the kitchen for us while I talk with the others?" I asked my 'daughter'. I couldn't help but notice she looked to the side every few seconds, but I thought of it as her agreeing. "Go on."

"Thank you Dr. Light!" And she ran into the kitchen, picking up each of the objects. Each of us were talking about our life, what we do, and each of their robot masters. It made me smile when they talked about how they behaved with humans.

"So Blastman has a tendency to blow stuff up?" The explosion robot's creator sighed.

"Yeah, but I've managed to teach him to calm his temper. He now writes whatever's on his mind."

"Oh! He writes? What kind of things?"

"Well...I've only looked at it once, and he writes whatever he pleases. Sometimes it's about nonsense, other times it's actually really sweet and thought provoking. And then there are the missing pages."

"Missing?" I asked. She smiled in amusement.

"Remember what I said that he has a temper? He sometimes puts that on the pages. Over half his journals have singe marks."

"I see! He sounds like a playful bunch." I chuckled.

"He means well, I know it. He's just a stubborn robot, but we all love him. He's like your children Light, but with more excitement thrown at us." One of the other creators, Fuseman's creator, glanced at our direction.

"I always wondered, why did you build him around a teen age? Wouldn't adult be more appropriate for the type of function he does?" They asked.

"Technically yes. But, he works for us in a amusement park. We thought building him to be around teen age would let him get along with little kids better. I admit it's still a work in progress, they just won't stop pulling on his spikes."

The other creator sighed, watching the ice melt in their hand. I stepped closer to them. "Is something wrong?"

"I just feel like I could've done more for Fuse's construction. All of you, you're robot masters are just so wonderful. They all get along and have fun and tease each other. And you're there for them, seeing them smile and get along with others. I...just wish I could do that for Fuse."

I sat next to them, comforting them. They seemed to be the most stressed out of all of us here, with noticeable bags under their eyes. Even their suit seemed to be slightly dirty. "It's okay-"

"Apologies, but it's not. The moment Fuseman was made, he was automatically put to work by the company. He wasn't given a chance to interact, laugh, or even ask questions. Just 'control this current' and 'don't do that' or even 'this place will blow'! I didn't get to bond with him like you do with your children or anyone else here. I feel like when he wanted to ask me and chat to me like a normal person, but I was so busy with my own work, I didn't even notice him. Eventually, he started ignoring everyone entirely, focusing endlessly on his work. Sometimes, I come home and notice he's dangerously low on power, but he still works! I fear he will hurt himself one day, and I can't do anything!"

Cossack helped me with the other's comfort, reassuring the safety of the new robot. "It's going to be okay," Cossack whispered, "If you feel that way about him, then you need to tell him that. Right, Light?"

"Yes, it's like when I had to confront Elecman about the same thing. Some robots tend to not acknowledge the damage they do to themselves. It's only when they notice the pain they're inflicting on others that snap them out of it. Tell how you feel to Fuse about his working, get him to talk and listen to you. If you can work things out, Fuse will change to make you happy. Eventually, he will grow close to you, I assure you." They took a sip of their water, satisfied with the talk. Letting her think on her own, me and Cossack talked to each other.

"So Tundra seems like a nice fellow. He has a nice look to him I see. Wanted to give him a special look from the others?"

"Actually, that design was his request. Trust me, he looked more bulky for his work, but after watching something on tv, he begged me to change his design. I couldn't resist, it was the most motivated I've ever seen him. Now, he mostly practices ice skating in cold regions."

"Ice skating?" I gasped. "That's interesting. Does he practice with you often?"

"Heavens no, Thomas! He mostly keeps the talent to himself!" Cossack laughed, before pondering for a moment. "Actually, I believe there is one other person he practices with."

"Who?"

"All he's said is he's a great skater and he's been affiliated with..." He spoke a little louder.

"Wily."

Immediately, some of the other creators turned to us, interested in the conversation.

"Is he human?" I asked a little bit seriously. If there was a person affiliated with Wily, I needed to know. But Cossack smiled and continued on. The others dropped their conversations entirely.

"Nope, it's a robot. I think I already figured out who it is." He leaned closer to me. "You know Topman, right?"

I almost dropped my drink. It has been a long time since I've heard of the dance robot's name. I remembered how Wily tricked me into finally being good again, and we built the third gens together. But after Wily was defeated along with gamma, it seemed all of the third generation disappeared. I thought they were completely destroyed in the fortress collapsing. But now...

"Y-Yes?" I lost breath for a moment from shock.

"I have a feeling this companion of Tundra's is Topman. Kalinka told me when she spied on him once, she heard the voice on speaker phone. She said it sounded a lot like him, even spoke in the same sassy tone."

"But how? How could he be in hiding for so long and survive?" My curiosity was getting the best of me. I was no longer nervous of the topic of Wily's robots, but excited of knowing some of them are alive after so long.

"I actually wouldn't be surprised if a Wily bot survived." Torchman's creator, who wore a campsite uniform, spoke out. "It seems like a lot of old bots from the past are coming back."

"Really?"

"Oh yeah, have you heard of NASA's newest recruit?"

"I know Galaxy man works with them up there. I haven't chatted with him in a while." I told them. The last time I talked with the ufo robot was probably a few months ago.

"Well, apparently they've had a extra crew member up there. He seems to not like to be seen on camera, but the crew send daily reports about him. Say he's 'the star of the crew' literally and figuratively."

It can't be...

"Or about that mysterious individual that's camping out near the logging stations in the Brazilian forests. Thieves and loggers have been found injured the next morning with slash and bite marks. And not regular bites, they are animal bites. The robot's been dubbed 'blood eyes'."

"Oh jeez, that one sounds bad! Are you sure it's safe for a robot to be in that state?" Bounceman's creator spoke nervously.

"Or about that weird robot with the flat face working with Jewelman's company? Or the green robot assisting your Tornadoman near where he works?" Impactman's creator added.

I couldn't take in all this information, I couldn't believe all these robots who both Rock and I thought were gone suddenly appearing and helping humanity. I pulled Dr. Cossack away from the group, who were chatting about all too familiar robot master.

"Dr. Cossack, what does this all mean?" I asked.

"I think, Thomas, is everyone is picking up Wily's previous robots, rebuilding and putting them to use. Good uses. Your speeches to the world are helping everyone recover from the Wily Wars. Several companies have recovered them and even some of my friends have rebuild a Wily bot and given them a purpose." My old friend smiled.

"And you're okay with it Cossack? I know you have tense relations with Dr. Wily."

He sighed deeply, sipping his coffee. "I know. I will never forgive him for what he did, forcing my family to fight your son and kidnapping my daughter. But Tundra's happy with talking to another robot, even if he's a Wily bot. I don't want to take that happiness away from him just from a bad experience. And if every Wily bot like Topman is out there, redeeming themselves in any way possible, I think...I'll be willing to give them a chance."

I smiled widely and patted him hard on the back. "I'm very happy for you Mikhail. I'm glad you think that way."

"You're the one who influenced me." That made us laugh softly.

"If it sounds okay, I would appreciate it if you'll give me the information about any old robots you come across."

"Of course."

Suddenly, we heard a thump along with the groan from someone. We all shook our heads in confusion before Rock came down the stairs, exhausted and plopped on the couch. I put a little blanket over him as he went into sleep.

"Are you going to tell Rock about the news? He will probably be shocked about Wily bots being alive."

I suspected Cossack and many others had no idea Rock already recovered some of the second generation, and that question confirmed it. I nod slightly as the rest of the 11th generation came down the stairs. "When the time is right, I'll tell him. I'm sure it will be a shock." Maybe he'll faint in relief. I thought.

"I'm telling you, I heard something." Fuseman insisted towards the smaller blocky robot.

"Sure. Look, just drop it for now. Maybe Rock was right, there was nothing to worry about."

"But-"

"Dude, just calm down." Blastman rested on his shoulder, not fazed by the electric robot's irritation. "The doctor hear has good security here. Plus, he's got Megaman, the best fighting robot master, by his side! I think they'll be fine!"

"Hmph!" Fuse puffed his cheeks out.

"Dr. Cossack, I finally got Tundra to come out. He locked himself in a room on purpose!" Impactman glared at Tundraman, who wasn't staring at anyone.

"Because no one would leave me alone to talk with Kalinka."

"Kalinka's still awake?!" Cossack gasped. I was confused by his shock until I saw the clock. It was almost 10 p.m.

"Yes?" Tundra looked concerned. My friend rubbed his head in defeat and frustration.

"I told her to head to sleep for school. I'll have to talk to her later."

"I guess we should all be going, huh?" The doctors said their goodbyes to each other as they gathered their robot masters. Fuse's creator looked at me and nodded in thanks as she walked out with her frustrated robot. Blast was very enthusiastic to leave, almost running ahead with his creator laughing behind him. Something always told me that they had a strong bond. One by one, each of the robot masters and creator left to go home. The last ones to leave were Tundraman and Cossack themselves.

"Thank you for coming old friend! Be sure to tell Kalinka I said hi. I'll be looking forward to your help."

"So do I!" The doctor replied happily, lightly tapping the ice robot's shoulder. Without saying another word, the robot did a little bow before the two went to their car.

Rock was passed out on the couch, Cutman and Roll leaning against each other on the floor, and Elecman shaking his head.

"So much company today. And was it me, or did they remind you of us a little?" He suggested.

"I guess so. Come on Elec, let's get them to bed."

"Gotcha. By the way, you're looking euphoric right now, did something happen?"

"I'll tell you in the morning Elec. I'm just really tired, let's go to bed."

Elec gave a smile carrying the three kids up the stairs. "Okay doc."

Note: So there are more Wily bots active? This is growing bigger than I expected. Such a big cast, so many ideas for future interactions! When I'm ready, there will be occasionally a story involving one or several robots. I will leave it up to you which robot master you want to focus on. Right now, this will mostly focus on the generation two robots. Enjoy!

P.s: Let's see if you can find out which robot masters I'm referring to during the doctor talk!
