...gone horribly wrong
"Hello Albert. What business do you have calling me?" Dr. Light restrained himself from looking over at Flash, who was hiding behind the door. To say he was frightened would be an understatement. Why was his creator on the screen? Was that a tracker in his armor? Why would he put a tracker in him, unless he thought about this situation.
"Oh...I think you know very well why I contacted you." Dr. Wily sneered.
"No, I don't. Have you contacted to tell me your evil plant again?"
However, to his dismay, the doctor gave a unsettling smirk and leaned in closer to the screen, almost pressing his wrinkly face against the glass. "Thomas, have you been recovering my robots?" Flash could almost feel his core stop. They got caught!!
"What are you talking about Wily? I have not been recovering your bots, nor do I seem to have a reason to recover your own machines-?" The screen shook on the receiving end, almost as Wily shook his communicator.
"Then tell me why I have found my trackers active on my robots across the globe?! South America, Japan, even where you are RIGHT NOW. Every single one of my robots have been active again, and the thought of you taking my work, it makes me so angry!" He shouted into the communicator. Flash could only stare as Dr. Light tried to keep his composure.
"All of them are activated?" He asked quietly.
"Don't lie to me Thomas, we both know not everyone in the entire world can build or fix a robot master like us. If only one person could rebuild my robots, it's you." The evil doctor sneered.
"Albert, I know you don't trust me, but I will keep telling you that I didn't recover your bots." Dr. Light insisted. Wily huffed before moving more and pressing more buttons.
"Then why don't we ask the others about it?"
"What do you me-" Dr. Light couldn't finish as more mini screens all around. If he could've seen the whole thing, the robot would've counted maybe 20 or more screens showing up. Flash was confused by the multiple screens showing up around the computer. None of them showed faces, but seconds later different voices came through. And none of them sounded happy. More like frightened, confused, or tired. It was hard for Flash to keep up with the different type of conversations, but he could make out just a few.
So these are the other wily numbers that came after us... He thought to himself.
"What's going on?! Tundra, are you there? If this is a prank..."
"Slash, are you seeing this as well?"
"Yeah, no duh."
"Oh, this does not seem to be good..."
"Is this-?!"
"AAaaaaahhh-"
"EVERYONE, SHUT IT!!" Wily shouted over the intercom, scaring the bolts out of Dr. Light and Flash. The voices died down immediately before one voice, Wood's voice, answered.
"D-Doctor Wily?" Just from the voice alone, Flash could make out he was surprised to hear his voice.
"It's a surprise to hear all of you active after so long. Tell me, how long have you been like this, and does Thomas have something to do..." However, to everyone's surprise, the multiple voices overlapped each other, almost calling to each other in hope of hearing each other. They sounded so happy to hear each other, Flash couldn't help but crack a smirk.
"Wait, everyone's active? Magnet, SNAKE! Can you hear me?!
"Wait a minute...Do I hear my brothers?"
"Huh, so older models before me are active?"
"Perhaps maybe I, the Splendid Noble Youth, should introduce myself to the others..."
"Hey Gyro, how are you doing?"
"I'm fine. How is everyone else?"
"So many new people I hear."
"ANYWAYS!!" Wily interrupted again, silencing the robots once again. He was trying to not be frustrated by everyone ignoring him. It reminded Flash on how we tended to be sarcastic towards him back when they worked for him. "I want to know if Doctor Light reactivated all of you. Don't you dare lie to me!" There was silence before one voice, a voice the temporal robot didn't recognize, spoke up.
"Uh no. Actually, I was picked up by some humans and repaired." They said. That stopped Wily dead in his tracks.
"What?" He asked. One by one, the voices spoke up as well.
"Another robot and I were repaired by another robot here. Why do you ask this doctor Wily?"
"Are you lying to me?! Who would pick you up after all the damage you did all those years ago?!" Wily was angry, angry that others aside from Light have been picking up his robots and they didn't seem to be fazed by the slightest about not being on his side. Meanwhile, Dr. Light was trying his hardest not to crack a smile.
"I told you Albert, I'm not responsible for this. Your robots have just simply found other ways of being useful for society. And from what I hear, they sound quite happy with their new jobs." The smooth voice spoke up.
"Hey Doctor Light."
Suddenly, Dr. Wily pounded his fist and spoke up. Flash shuddered by how angry he looked, he almost didn't look human at all. "Listen up you pieces of junk. You were built by me, the great Dr. Wily, with the purpose of killing Megaman and helping me conquer the world. DO NOT have these delusions of being useful to any of the humans. Besides, would Megaman even treat you all the same way as these people who seemed to have 'forgave' you?"
Silence fell between the intercoms, no one daring to speak up. Maybe they all were feeling the same way about how he spoke to them. It honestly made Flash sick to his stomach. However, another voice same up on Wood's intercom, but it wasn't his.
It was Megaman-or Rock- himself.
"Wood? Can I have this? Thanks." The voices were surprised in hearing him, even more that he was sharing an intercom with Woodman. Wily's mouth almost dropped to the floor, and Light smiled at his son.
"Listen, if any of you Wily Bots and even humans are hearing me, then I just need to say this. When I fought you all, it affected me a lot. I never wanted to fight any of you, and it hurt me even after our battles ended. I couldn't stop being guilty about killing all of you, I couldn't take it anymore. That's why...I went out and started looking for some of you. I even reactivated some of the 2nd generation such as Woodman and Metal. I understand why you all are scared of being out in public because of me, and I wouldn't blame you. But I just want to tell you, if you are out there, helping humanity and being happy, I'm happy for you. And I hope you can forgive me. I'm sorry."
No one spoke up from the intercoms, a peaceful silence ringing through the air. However, Wily made a dangerous grin and pulled up another file. Suddenly, a request popped in Flash's optics.
[REQUEST_HEADING_WILY_CASTLE_LOCATION]
[ACCEPT_REQUEST]
Wh-What is this?
"This is foolish. All Wily bots, I'm sending you the coordinates to my castle. You all are to report back to me and wait for your next objectives. Got it?" He ordered.
"Wait Wily, you're actually going to take your robots back, even after you abandoned your own creations?" Dr. Light asked, shocked that Wily would change his attitude about his robots after everything that happened.
"I'll admit, I thought their purpose was lost after they lost to your precious golden boy. But since you and other idiot scientists went through so much trouble to recover my robots, I will take my opportunity."
However, none of the robots responded to his order on the intercom. Wily got frustrated by the lack of response.
"Hello? Have you all got a couple of screws loose? You are to come to my castle for your new objectives! Understand?! HELLO?!"
A couple of minutes passed before a voice spoke up. "And what were to happen if we saw 'no'?"
Dr. Wily sneered. "Then you will be deemed worthless to me and I'll see it that you'll be hunted down and scrapped." By that declaration, the intercoms did a collective gasp, even Dr. Light was horrified.
"Albert! You would hunt down and destroy your own creations for rejecting an offer?!"
"None of your business anymore Light! You should've known this was going to happen, including your little blue brat who foolishly gathered my robots. They have one choice now, either leave their idiotic jobs and do their true purpose, or reject and be hunted and dismantled on the spot!"
When the intercoms died down, Flash's core wouldn't stop pumping. He has wondering how this was going to turn out. What would his brothers do? What should he do? He didn't want to die, but after their own creator, their father, left them behind to be rust and suddenly wanted them back? He wasn't in for that. These thoughts died when a beep came and a message appeared on Light's screen. What it said shocked both the doctors and Rock's little gasp was heard.
DWN. 009 has rejected the offer.
Brother?
"METAL?! What is the meaning of this?" Dr. Wily screamed into the intercom. Slowly, more messages appeared, different wily numbers being named.
DWN. 013 has rejected the offer.
DWN. 011 has rejected the offer.
DWN. 015 has rejected the offer.
DWN. 016 has rejected the offer.
DLWN. 018 has rejected the offer.
DLWN. 019 has rejected the offer.
DLWN. 020 has rejected the offer.
DLWN. 021 has rejected the offer.
DLWN. 022 has rejected the offer.
DLWN. 023 has rejected the offer.
*Note: You get the point.
More and more names popped up, and Flash was shocked by how many of his brethren were rejecting doctor Wily. It was then he looked at his own request. With what strength he had, he answered the request.
DWN. 014 has rejected the offer.
Wily was furious. The veins on his head almost looked like they were going to burst any moment. Then, he did a angry huff and smashed the screen. Dr. Light was frightened by the sudden action, and voice behind Wily laughed behind him.
"WOW! Never thought you would break your own stuff old man!"
"FINE THEN! GET TURNED TO SCRAP FOR ALL I CARE! YOU'RE NOTHING TO ME NOW! ENJOY YOUR LAST MOMENTS!" He then glared to Light before the intercom died down. "This is all your fault, Light!" And the intercom died down.
The good doctor didn't say anymore as the smaller screens disappeared. Some even said stuff like "sorry" or "gotta go" before leaving. As for Flash, he collapsed on the floor out of shock, euphoria, and pure fear. Light sighed as he exited the lab, gasping at Flash shaking on the floor. He pats him on the head before helping him on the couch.
"Are you okay?" The doctor asked gently.
"Frankly, no."
"Do you want to see your brothers?" Flash shook his head hesitantly. Light grabbed his phone, only to be bombarded by calls by Rock, Roll, even some of the 1st generation.
"Doctor, Wood is shaking like crazy! I even got calls from Metal and Heat, and they sound like a complete mess. What should we do?" Rock stammered. Roll spoke up as well.
"I managed to find Crashman with Blastman at the junkyard. He doesn't look too hot, he almost looks like he's going to break down." She whispered into the phone.
"Rock, Roll, how about you bring them back to the lab? I think they need some comfort." And he ended the call, trying to calm the shaking Flashman down.
