106. Those Three Months
Dark, misty and cold. Full of resentment.
"Now what?" asked Jiang Cheng.
"We just got our revenge yet you're still grumpy." said Wei Wuxian.
"I'm just asking." said Jiang Cheng.
"Is no one gonna take this tie off of me?" asked Wen Chao.
"No one." said Nie Huaisang.
Madam Yu stood up as she dragged Wang LingJiao forcefully towards Wen Chao and tied them together.
"Punishments will be receive when we're all done watching." she said.
"And I mean punishments, even mine is included. No mercy once the punishments is given." she added.
"There's no kind punishments after all." she whispered as she took her seat back.
In such place, even a ray of sun cannot surpass, no light can be seen. It was all covered in darkness.
A body enveloped in resentment falls down on the ground with a loud sound... sound of bone breaking along with a loud scream.
A swirl of black resentful energy surrounded it with a loud screech and thin laughter.
"What are we watching?" asked a random disciple.
"And what does it mean resentful energy?" asked another random disciple.
"Are we gonna watch someone's suffering?" asked MianMian.
"Isn't Wei-gongzi and Jiang-gongzi's sufferings enough that they making us watch another?" she added.
"This screen has no mercy on us." said Wei Wuxian.
"Hi Hi Hi"
"A new body to be feasted on."
"A new soul to eat."
"A new life to be perished."
"Hi Hi Hi"
"Damn!" Nie Huaisang exclaimed.
"What are those voices?" asked Jin Zixuan.
"It seems scary and creepy at the same time." said Nie Huaisang.
"I have no good feelings about what's going to happen." said Jiang Cheng.
"That means, it's related to anyone closer to you." said Nie Mingjue.
Jiang Cheng instantly turned to Wei Wuxian who only looked at him curiously.
"It can't be." said Jiang Cheng.
The body moves slowly and limply, trying to find something to hold and it did. It found something to hold onto.
The man slowly look up only to see an ashen bone of a human held in his hands.
Seeing the sight of it along with the stink odor surrounding the place, he vomited.
"The f*ck!" cursed Jiang Cheng, face full of horror as he realized who the person is.
"Da-ge!" Nie Huaisang exclaimed seeing the scene.
"What am I doing there?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"Is this the time where you are thrown down the Burial Mounds?" asked Jin Zixuan.
"That's the only possible reason." said Lan Xichen.
"We will finally know what he have gone through that he have to hide it from his brother." he added.
Lan Wangji gripped Wei Wuxian's waist tightly, hands shivering slightly.
"It's alive! It's alive!"
He refused to acknowledge those voices, fear was written all over his face as he continue to move, trying to escape.
"Well, how can he escape?" asked Su She mockingly.
"Don't forget that we had watch Wei-xiong taking his revenge." said Nie Huaisang.
"This is just what we call a flashback. For us to understand everything." he added.
"Even if you will show everything to him, he still won't understand and believe even an ounce of it." said Zizhen.
"That's how corrupted his brain is." said Jingyi.
"Are you trying to escape?"
"You can't."
"There's no way out."
"You can't leave."
"You'll stay with us here."
"Hi Hi Hi"
"I won't stay there!" Wei Wuxian exclaimed.
"Of course you won't. We won't let you." said Jiang Cheng as he glared at the screen.
"None of it will happen to you, second son-in-law." said Qingheng-jun.
Surrounded by those voice that's taunting him, Wei Wuxian refused to gave up. He continue to crawl hoping that something can help him get up and fight those voices.
After how many hours of crawling, he finally got a hold of something hard and after searching for a while he found out that it's a tree, a dead one.
He supported his body, trying to crawl up. Every move, he can feel every pain. He tried to suppress it for how many times until he can't take it any longer as he let out a pained scream along with tears flowing down his face.
"Wei Ying!" Lan Wangji called worriedly.
"Try to say you're fine Wei Wuxian because I will break your bones. Don't lie." said Jiang Cheng.
"I can't really lie. You guys saw how I'm suffering there. Is it even possible for you guys to believe I am fine?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"But, don't worry Lan Zhan. Your Wei Ying here will find a way to survive." he said.
"Mn. Make sure to come back to me." said Lan Wangji.
"Joke on you. Wei Wuxian will come back to me." said Jiang Cheng.
"Do you need help?"
"We can help you."
The voices keep on asking him so many questions joined with laughter but, he still refused to acknowledge them.
"Don't ever acknowledge them." said Lan Qiren.
"They will taint you and is will be nothing good." he added.
"Is my Lan-shufu worried about me?" asked Wei Wuxian teasingly.
"Never." said Lan Qiren.
"No wonder you love Jiang Cheng more. You both are grumpy." said Wei Wuxian with a pout.
Wei Wuxian finally made himself to sit as he leaned on the trunk of the dead tree, he finally loses his consciousness.
"Wei Ying!"
"Wei Wuxian!"
"A-xian!"
"Isn't it the three mlst important person to him." said Nie Huaisang.
"Even I can here the worry in their voices." said Jin Zixuan.
"Shijie." Wei Wuxian whispered.
"I'm here, a-xian." said Jiang Yanli with a smile.
"I know. Shijie will always be there for me just like Lan Zhan." said Wei Wuxian.
"Also, my cute grumpy little brother." he laughed.
"We are in serious situation, Wei Wuxian. Teasing doesn't fit." said Jiang Cheng.
"Shijie!"
Wei Wuxian woke up hearing those voices as he looked around.
"Shijie, where are you?"
His voice is raspy and broken as he is trying to find his sister.
Filled with panic and fear for his sister, Wei Wuxian started to crawl around just to see her. Face full of tears and pain, he refused to gave up on looking for his sister.
"I'm there, a-xian." said Jiang Yanli.
"You shouldn't fear." she added.
"But it worries me. What if you're really there?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"I am. I am with you, not physically but emotionally. In your heart, I'm always there." said Jiang Yanli.
"Shijie, you're so lovely." said Wei Wuxian.
"Don't panic, you're hurting yourself." said Jiang Yanli as tears started to form in her eyes.
"It's nothing, it's nothing." said Wei Wuxian as he forcefully wipe his tears.
"Ha Ha Ha"
"Looking for someone?"
"You're the only one here."
"You're the only living soul here."
Realizing that what those voices are saying is true, Wei Wuxian let his limp body fall down to the ground with a loud thud as he let out a scream of misery.
He cried. He cried and cried until there is no more tears to cry on.
"Shijie." he whispered.
"Oh a-xian." Jiang Yanli cried as he hugged Wei Wuxian who is still embraced by Lan Wangji.
"How I wish I was there for you to cry on." she whispered.
"It will be more dangerous for you, shijie. Your safety is far more important." said Wei Wuxian.
"Wei Wuxian, never ever hide things like this." said Jiang Cheng.
"How can we help you relieve your pain when your not saying anything?" he asked.
"We're here, Wei Ying. I am here." said Lan Wangji.
Suddenly, a surge of anger flashed across his eyes as he stared at the black smoke around him.
"Are you trying to trick me?" he asked with full anger.
"They are." said Jin Zixuan.
"That's where they are good at." he added.
"Did it work?"
"It wasn't us."
"It's your mind thinking of it."
"You're alone. Your mind made you think that you have someone with you."
"You're alone."
"You don't have anyone."
"Ha Ha Ha"
"That's not true." said Sizhui.
"A-niang, you always have us. Don't believe them." he said.
He wants to hug his mother but Jiang Yanli was hugging him. Seeing that, Jiang Yanli slowly stood up as she kissed Wei Wuxian on the forehead and go back to her seat. Lan Sizhui immediately hugged his mother.
"I will never believe them, a-yuan." said Wei Wuxian as he caressed his son's hair.
"You should." said Sizhui.
Hearing it, Wei Wuxian felt his head hurt. He stayed still on the ground like he have given up.
"Don't give up, there's still a bright future ahead of you." said Qingheng-jun.
"I will never. Life is very important for me." said Wei Wuxian.
"Do you need help?"
"What help?" he asked back.
"What do you think?"
"We can help you take revenge."
"We will serve you."
"Follow your orders until you're satisfied."
"What do you want in return?" he asked
"You!"
"We want you to let us out of here in exchange of your revenge."
Wei Wuxian laughed silently, "I will never use resentment."
"I still ended up using it." said Wei Wuxian.
"You have reasons, a-niang." said Sizhui.
"I do have reasons but using them will give ne no good. It can brought destruction." said Wei Wuxian.
"And it really did." Jin Ling whispered.
"It's not his fault though." said Jingyi.
"I know, it's just some people are really dumb to blame him for things he will never do." said Jin Ling.
"Right, I can even give you a list of who you are talking about." said Zizhen.
One day after he was thrown down, Wei Wuxian was still in the same position and situation as the resentment energy refused to leave him alone, disturbing the every bit of him, taunting him until he gave up and agree with them.
Pain. Hunger. Fear.
That's what all he felt as the time goes by.
"My poor little brother." Jiang Yanli whispered.
"Shijie, it hurts when you also think I'm poor." said Wei Wuxian.
"Can you be serious for once?" asked Jiang Cheng.
"Wei Ying isn't poor." said Lan Wangji.
"He can have my richness." he added.
"As long as you won't give him your stock of vinegar. It seemed like you have lots of it too." said Jiang Cheng.
Lan Wangji glared at him.
"All of the Lans does, jiujiu." sai Jin Ling.
"Can we all focus?" asked Jin Zixuan.
"Yes, we can. But, let me tell you, those resentful energy will be the one to gave up before me." said Wei Wuxian.
"But, you suffered so much." said Jiang Yanli.
"Suffering is normal on one's life, shijie." said Wei Wuxian.
"But yours is too much." said Jiang Yanli.
"It's enough, I guess." said Wei Wuxian.
"No need to worry, shijie, I survived, I am fine." he added.
"You can't make me stop worrying about you, a-xian. You could've died there." said Jiang Yanli.
"Shijie, I am fine in the future." said Wei Wuxian.
"That doesn't change the fact that you've suffered so much." said Jiang Cheng.
"Can we just continue watching?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"Only if you promise that you won't go through such thing again." said Jiang Cheng.
"Fine." Wei Wuxian grumbled.
After laying for how long, Wei Wuxian forced himself to get up again as the resentful energy once again surrounded him. He ignored all of them trying to find something... something useful... something to eat or even to drink. He won't last long without those knowing that his energy started to drop as time passes by.
Crawling slowly, Wei Wuxian is determined to find something to drink until he found a stream.
It seems clean because of its clear color but who would expect a clean water inside the Burial Mounds?
"Don't drink it." said Jiang Cheng.
"Do I have another choice?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"You do." said Jiang Cheng.
"What is it then?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"I don't have one, ChengCheng. I need to drink in order for me to survive." said Wei Wuxian.
"I can't even imagine what is inside that stream." said Jin Zixuan.
"Maybe it's really clean." said Nie Huaisang.
"That's impossible." said Jiang Cheng.
"Just my second son-in-law wanted to survive. He will do everything." said Qingheng-jun.
"That's because he have reasons to survive. If he have none, he might have just let those resentment to eat him to death." said Wen Rouhan.
Wei Wuxian didn't mind it though. He uses his hands to get some water to drink. After a while of drinking, Wei Wuxian just sat there, contemplating on what he should do to survive without using resentment energy.
This is what happened to him for how many days of staying there, having the resentment energy as his company, talking to him without forcing him to use them. It seems that the resentful energy chooses to be kind to him, the sole survivor of Burial Mounds, a man who is destined to leave the place sooner or later.
"They're not kind, they're just waiting for a right moment." said Wen Rouhan.
"Don't ever trust them." he added.
"But, he's really is the only one survivor of the Burial Mound." said MianMian.
"Maybe that's the reason why he didn't tell Lan Wangji and his brother that Wen Chao thrown him to that place. It seems impossible to believe." she added.
"I might have believed it if he only explain everything." said Jiang Cheng.
"I can even help him hide the secret." he added.
"But it's still impossible." said Wei Wuxian.
"Nothing's impossible for you." said Jiang Cheng.
Wei Wuxian grinned at him.
Having regained some of his energy, Wei Wuxian can finally stood and walk slowly. Some of his injuries started to heal but his broken bones seemed to take time on healing.
Wandering around the place, Wei Wuxian found a cave. He enters without a second thought, thinking that it should be a safe place for him, away from the resentful energy because it didn't followed him from the moment he entered the place.
"Finally, a good place to sleep." said Wei Wuxian.
"It's still dangerous, Wei-xiong." said Nie Huaisang.
"Even if the resentful energy didn't follow you, they will still find a time to disturb you." he added.
"I know that." said Wei Wuxian.
"At least, I can stay there for a while and have good rest to regain myself and my strength." he added.
"That's good, too." said Nie Huaisang.
"Don't expose yourself too much to the resentful energy." said Lan Wangji.
"I won't." said Wei Wuxian.
"I don't think so." said Jiang Cheng.
There he found a book, an instrument to help him know how to survive the days in that place. Learning a lot of things, Wei Wuxian finally succumbed to use resentful energy for his new cultivation and for him to survive.
"It's the only way." said Wei Wuxian as he felt some glares was sent to him.
"I don't have any other choice." he added.
"No one gave all of you the right to glare at him." said Qingheng-jun.
"Didn't we all see that he did nothibg wrong? He's just using it to survive. So please, take you eyes and glares off of my son-in-law." he added.
"No need to be so protective, father-in-law." said Wei Wuxian.
"I'm just doing my responsibility." said Qingheng-jun.
"Thank you, then." siad Wei Wuxian with a smile.
"There's no need for you to say that." said Qingheng-jun.
Practicing his new cultivation, Wei Wuxian needs to make an instrument, a spiritual tool as he chooses the dark tones for controlling the resentful energy. He wanders again outside the cave to find a material, having the resentful energy to guide him. There he found a dark bamboo trees, dark mainly because of the resentful energy around the place made all the living things turned dark and dead.
"This is where you made Chenqing." Jingyi siad happily.
"I really loved that flute of yours." he added.
"Why?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"Because I'm interested in flutes." said Jingyi.
"Want me to make one for you?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"No need, I already have. My a-niang made it for me." said Jingyi with a bright smile.
"I love your flute because it's deadly." he added.
"No wonder you're Jiang Cheng's son. You both love deadly stuff." said Wei Wuxian.
"But, your flute is really lovely, a-niang." said Sizhui.
"I know." laughed Wei Wuxian.
"You don't even know what kind of flute they sre talking about." said Jiang Cheng.
He thought that the resentful energy will stay kind to him, he was mistaken.
Every time he practices his new cultivation, the resentful energy swarms over him, wanting to take control until he loses his consciousness.
This happened for a lot of times, his mind was clouded with the resentment making him unable to think what's right for a lot times having no one to guide him and calm him in every situation.
"Wei Ying." Lan Wangji called worriedly.
"I'm sorry, Lan Zhan." said Wei Wuxian.
"What are you apologizing for?" asked Lan Wangji.
"I made you worried." said Wei Wuxian.
"You don't have to apologize for that." said Lan Wangji.
"I am worried, yes. But it isn't your fault. Just, just don't do such thing in this life. I don't want to lose you." he added.
"You'll never lose me, Lan Zhan." said Wei Wuxian as he hugged the man tightly.
"Let us in."
"Let us in."
"Let us take control."
"No, no."
"NO!"
"Get lost. Get lost."
"GET LOST!"
"Stay away from me." he cried.
"My brother needs me, my sister needs me." he added.
"A-xian." Jiang Yanli cried.
"Don't suffer like that again." she said.
"I won't, shijie." said Wei Wuxian.
"Wei Wuxian." Jiang Cheng called.
"We do need you." he said.
"We need you to be safe, away from dangers. Can you do that?" he asked.
"I can, as long as our bond won't break." said Wei Wuxian.
"Then, don't be reckless." said Jiang Cheng.
"You're more reckless than me." said Wei Wuxian.
"You both are just the same." said Jiang Yanli.
"Stay away from me. I've promise to let you all out when I'm out of here myself. I can't let you take control. You'll ruin the world, you'll bring destruction to the world." he cried.
"He really did brought destruction to the world." said Jin Guangshan.
"Shut the f*ck up." cursed the juniors that include our dearest Sizhui (he finally lose it)
"Jin Guangshan, think before you speak. That's my son-in-law you're talking about." said Qingheng-jun.
"It will give you no good." he added.
He cried and he cried.
"Jiang Cheng, shijie." he whispered.
Wei Wuxian was once again out for many days. He used up all of his energy on fighting those resentment from taking control and add to that, the misery he feels from thinking about his siblings.
"We are fine, Wei Wuxian." said Jiang Cheng.
"Why don't you focus on yourself?" he asked.
"Maybe I just missed my siblings warmth." said Wei Wuxian.
"Then do your best to survive. To be with us again." said Jiang Cheng.
"And I did." said Wei Wuxian with a smile.
"I will be with the both you." he added.
"Of course, we can't leave my husband." he grinned.
"You can spend your time with us but, I don't to spend time with you when you're with your cold-blooded lover." said Jiang Cheng.
"You can't stop me." grinned Wei Wuxian.
"Wei Wuxian!"
"Wei Wuxian!"
"Wei Wuxian!"
"A-xian!"
"A-xian!"
"A-XIAN!"
"Shijie?"
"Shijie, are you there?"
"A-xian!"
"No, no, no, no, no."
"Stop! Please, I'm begging you to stop." he cried once again.
"I can't take it anymore." said Sizhui.
"Can we stop now? I don't want to see my mother suffering." he added.
"No one wanted it." said Jin Ling.
"A-ling, I can't take it anymore." said Sizhui.
"What about us? There's more to it, not just Wei-daijiu's suffering. I never wanted this in the first place." said Jin Ling.
"It's my fault." said Jingyi.
"If I didn't insist going on that forest then maybe, none of this will happen." he added.
"Are we blaming you?" asked Jin Ling.
"You know it's also a good thing. Our parents' past self won't make the same mistake. They will have a good life better than us." said Zizhen.
"We just have to bear with it." he added.
"For how long?" asked Jin Ling.
"Until your they find us, I guess." said Zizhen.
"Only them can get us from here. Only them who can save us." he added.
"What are they talking about?" asked Nie Huaisang.
"Their parents in the future." said Jin Zixuan.
"A-xian's suffering will only stop when he's away from us, I guess." said Jiang Yanli.
"That's not true, shijie. I prefer being with you." said Wei Wuxian.
"Can't you see, a-xian? It all happened to you because you want to keep us safe. In order for to be safe then maybe stay away from us." said Jiang Yanli.
"Are you being real, shijie?" asked Wei Wuxian.
"I prefer to suffer than losing my siblings. Don't push me away just because you're thinking like that." he said.
"I'm not pushing you away. I am telling you what is right to make you decide a good decision in life and for you to live a peaceful life." said Jiang Yanli.
Wei Wuxian frowned.
"No, I can make a good decision when I'm with my siblings. I live a normal life, too." said Wei Wuxian.
"Living with us isn't normal, Wei Wuxian. A constant punishment from my mother isn't normal either." said Jiang Cheng.
"Not you too, ChengCheng. Besides, Madam Yu said that she won't do it again." said Wei Wuxian.
"But-"
"Say no more. I don't want to hear." said Wei Wuxian.
"Wei Ying."
"Lan Zhan?" he called.
"Help. Help me." he added.
"Lan Zhan." said Wei Wuxian.
"It's better if you're with him, a-xian. He will never let you suffer." said Jiang Yanli.
"Mn." Lan Wangji agreed.
"That didn't mean that I'm going to leave my siblings." said Wei Wuxian.
"I can be with Lan Zhan without losing the both of you." he added.
"Mn. Whatever Wei Ying wants." said Lan Wangji.
"No one can help you."
"You're alone now."
"Only us can accompany you."
"You only have us. No one else."
"Lies. You're lying to me!" he exclaimed.
"How is it a lie?"
"You've been here for a long time now."
"Suffering alone. No one by your side."
"How can you survive when you let your feelings down you?"
"Feelings. Feelings."
"They're just a distraction."
"It can make you weak."
"Shut up. Shut up."
"SHUT UP!"
"Shut up! Make those voices shut up." said Wei Wuxian.
"I don't believe them." he added.
"I am not alone. I am not alone." he whispered.
"A-niang!" Sizhui called as he hugged him.
"Yes, you're not alone. You will never be alone." he whispered.
"Please, stop my shijie from thinking of pushing me away." Wei Wuxian cried.
"They won't. They will never. They're just looking out for you." said Sizhui.
"A-xian, come here." said Jiang Yanli.
Wei Wuxian immediately run to her.
"Don't push me away." he whispered.
"I won't, I'm sorry." said Jiang Yanli as he hugged his brother tightly.
He lay there, on the cold surface of the cave. Tears streaming down his face but his, his eyes are void of any emotion.
This is the moment where he had changed. Changed himself. Changed himself for the better or maybe for worse...
"Don't. Don't change yourself." said Lan Wangji as he looked at the man inside Jiang Yanli's embrace.
"He will still come back to you, a-die." said Sizhui.
"He will always end up with you." he added ad he hugged his father.
He develop a seal, where he can fully control the resentment energy. Made from the resentful energy itself and preserve for how many days in the blood pool inside the cave.
He lets the resentful energy inside his mind, teaching him what to do as he strengthen the barrier surrounding the Burial Mounds.
He didn't know that those resentment started to eat his thoughts, changing them to be more cruel, void of mercy and full of revenge.
"This why I told you that resentful energy isn't good for the body." said Lan Qiren.
"It will change the person and it will never be the same anymore." he added.
"Will Wei Ying be alright?" asked Lan Wangji.
"Only if he still have control of his mind." said Lan Qiren.
"And his heart." he added.
Once he succeeded on strengthening the barrier, he made himself presentable, holding his flute, ChenQing in his right hand, and the the seal in his left, he leaves the Burial Mounds, the place where he suffered the most, bearing in mind the revenge he have to get.
The death of three persons.
For his family.
"Now this is when he goes to the Yiling Supervisory Office where Wen Chao is." said Nie Huaisang.
"Damn, Wei-xiong is looking hot." he added.
"You've done enough, Wei Wuxian." said Madam Yu.
"You don't have to serve pur family anymore." she added.
"You can have the life you always wanted." she continued.
"But, I prefer to be with my siblings before I get married." said Wei Wuxian.
"It's not like you won't get married the moment we leave this place." said Madam Yu.
Wei Wuxian just grinned at her.
"You're just like your mother." Madam Yu.

I want to add some XiCheng extra here but it makes me think that it is not suitable knowing that this is about Wei Wuxian's suffering even though the extra I want to add is all of Jiang Cheng worries about Wei Wuxian's disappearance.
So yeah... I'll just add that extra maybe after this part.
Hope you'll like it guys!
I gave my very best in this chapter even though I have a very little knowledge about what Wei Wuxian have really gone through in his three months of stay in the Burial Mound.
I hope you have a happy reading!
P.S. I've made this part when I found out that my examination is cancelled because of the bad weather.
Who would go to school when the wind is too strong that it can even blow you?
