I stir, wondering what has awoken up. I can't hear anything unusual, just the crickets chirping outside. When I open my eyes, I don't see anything out of the ordinary; it's dark, but I can see my boyfriend, Thomas, asleep next to me. It's unusually hot in the room, and I kick the blankets off. It's still too hot, but now my legs are cold.

I don't understand this, and I lay in the quiet darkness for a long time.

"You awake?" Thomas croaks.

"Yes," I say, rubbing my eyes. "I'm trying to figure out why it's so hot in here."

"It's not hot at all," Thomas mumbled. "It's really cold actually, give me the blankets."

I watched as he pulled more of the blankets over his body. I watched for a moment as he shivered, and I frowned, knitting my eyebrows together.

"Are you feeling okay?" I asked, propping myself up on my elbow.

"Yeah 'm good." He mumbled thickly.

I don't buy it for a second, and he flinches as I touch my palm to his forehead.

"You're warm," I frown.

'Nah, 'm cold."

"Tommy, you've got a fever." I said firmly.

"Don't 'Tommy' me." He grouched.

I scowled and ran my fingers through his hair. "When are you going to admit you're sick?"

"When I start puking." He said flatly.

"Which is when?"

I rolled my eyes as I felt all the muscles tighten in his back.

"Perhaps now," he said.

"I thought so." I said to myself as he jumped out of bed.

I heard him outside, retching into the grass. When he came back he was shaky, amd laying back into bed he looked at me.

"Cuddle me," he gave me his puppy dogs eyes.

I couldn't resist.
