Ally's POV
I was downstairs eating my breakfast when I heard a honk outside, what the world? I walked over to the window in the front of our house and saw Colton's car out there. What is he doing here? I grabbed my bookbag figuring why not get a head-start to school after dealing with this stalker then screamed to my mom letting her know I was leaving early.
I walked up to his window tapping hard enough to get his attention away from his phone. He has a severe addiction to that device.
"There you are, I thought you might've already left by now. You are really slow, you know." Colton said while lowering the window and shutting off his phone.
"No, I was eating peacefully. Why are you here anyways? You do know I can get to school on my own, right? I only tripped." I tried to show annoyance with my expression and voice but I don't think he caught on.
"Well, I am here to take you to school, quite obviously. I get lonely and I'm pretty sure you get lonely too. You only talked to teachers the entire day yesterday." I could tell he was getting bored because he turned his phone back on and was playing Flappy Bird. A curse coming out of his mouth every time the bird hit a pipe and fell.
"Uhm, alright, listen here, I do not get lonely, I am perfectly fine and if you are so desperate to not be lonely, go make some friends! I am not the only person in that school you know!" I huffed and walked away, making it clear that even his small brain could recognize that I was annoyed. He can't just be rude, give me Advil and then expect me to be his best friend.
I was actually quite glad when I heard his car starting up. He rolled out of my driveway and sped away towards school. I waited until he made it to the main road and then I started to wan.
I pushed the big doors open and walked into school. I arrived at my locker and put in the combination. I was schockingly met by a note fluttering towards the floor. I caught a glimpse of it before it got too far down and noticed the very neat handwriting on it; the notes size was rather disappointing really, I could read that handwriting all day.
I grabbed my bookbag and three textbooks then bent down to pick up the note. It had to be Colton, who else knew that I was even a student here? And teachers wouldn't leave notes in students lockers so the anonymous factor of the note quickly faded away. I picked up it up and didn't even get to read the first line before someone knocked me into my locker door. I hit my head and spots entered my vision dancing the light away.
"Hello? Are you okay? Are you new here? I am so sorry!" I heard a deep voice saying. I looked in the direction the voice was coming at me from but only saw the blurry outline of Carter Tamine, we had been at the same schools for two years but these were the first four sentences he had ever said to me.
"No you idiot! I have been in the same school as you for two years. Just..excuse me. You kinda made my concussion a lot worse."
I couldn't bear the pain, I pushed him aside and walked out the school doors. I had my hand on my head and kept walking until I reached the woods beside the school building. I had been here before for data collection for a science experiement so I knew exactly where I was going, the creek. It was quiet and had really soft patches of grass and leaves. And I worked alone, obviously, so I was the only one who knew where this spot was.
Colton's POV 7:34
I walked inside and stuffed the note inside Ally's locker. I opened up mine getting the correct books out and putting my other ones in their place then glanced around and spotted the basketball team across the hall. Ally is the one who said I need new friends.
"Hey guys, whats up?" I asked while walking up casually.
"Aye man, nothing much. Aren't you that freshman who was stalking us from the sidelines?" A roar of laughter erupted from the team around us.
"Nah, I'm the junior who got invited to the team and didn't even have to practice cause they knew I was better than all you" I said smirking. Yeah okay, I know your saying 'OMG he smirks and winks too much!!' But honestly, that's just my thing. Its kinda natural at this point.
"Alright, alright, no need for all that bro." He replied back with a slight grin. They all introduced themselves, the one talking was Turner, he was tall, African American, and current captain of the team. Within the group present there was also Jackson, Ian, Joseph, and Matthew.
I turned my head breaking away from the conversation they started about all the freshmen who tried out yesterday to see if Ally had arrived. I didn't see her but her locker was open, book bag on the ground, the note I wrote was on the floor, and a senior from my gym class was standing above all the stuff looking towards the school entrance with a confused expression written across his face.
Where could she be going so early in the morning that she dropped everything and left school, she doesn't come across as a skipper. I shook all the arms off my shoulder and walked over to her locker putting everything back in then closed it. The guy who was previously standing there was now walking into a classroom. Well geez, he didn't even give the thought to pick up her stuff.
"Crackhead.." I muttered under my breath. But, back to business, should I go check on her? I mean she could be anywhere at this point, and she did kinda say not to bother her. I guess I should leave her in peace... I made my way back over to the team ignoring the knife in my heart.
End Of The Day Still in Colton's POV
Ally still hasn't returned to school and its the end of the day. Maybe she just went home early. I don't even know why I was still thinking about her, she made it so obvious that she doesn't want me as a friend.
Today I was going to meet up with the team at this diner that just opened downtown, apparently its the place to be to them because they read it off a blog. Who knew they read blogs?!
After basketball I drove out to this diner and saw everyone hanging out over a couple booths in the back. I made my way over keeping an eye out for Turner. We had become quick friends.
I ordered a shake from a passing waitress and continued the walk to the group of high school guys who were actually acting rather respectful in a public setting. I still haven't heard from Ally, even if she was ignoring me. I shouldn't be thinking about her this much but I can't help myself!
I opened up the city directory, despite the voices in my head, so I could get her house number and call to check up on her, but then I realized I didn't know her full name. Well shoot, that ruins it. Maybe the school website will have something, is she a club kind of girl? Maybe sports? Pft nah, maybe they will have a random photo with captions of her name there. I scrolled through the school site and found absolutely nothing.
Why not just ask the team, it won't hurt anyone. I looked around for someone who looked bored and noticed a fellow junior from my homeroom scrolling through his phone. I tapped on his shoulder to get his attention and asked him if he knew her.
"Ally? Never heard that name before in my life. Is she a new girl? Is she hot?" Seriously? This kid is desperate. Ally isn't new is she? Nah, she was way too comfortable around that school. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see some ten year old girl.
"Uh, hi?"
"Would you happen to be talking about Ally Brown? Light brunette hair, brown eyes, lives in a white home? She used to babysit for me." She said to me, was she a younger sibling of someone here? I am beyond confused.
"Oh, yes, thanks little kid."
"The name is Rebecca. Not little kid, but you're welcome." She replied smiling and skipping away towards the bathroom.
Okay then. I opened up the directory again and looked up Ally Brown. Several people came up but none with that lived on her street. Maybe if I looked up her street address. Wait a second you dimwit, you have her street address in your GPS from the other night! I excused myself from the table and put a ten down to cover my shake and a tip then headed out to my car and to Ally's house. I arrived in the driveway of her house and knocked on the door praying silently she would open.
"Hello? How may I help you?" An older lady, maybe around 40, asked me.
"Is Ally here? I uhm.. uh.. need to drop off some extra homework." I said trying to make up some good excuse.
"I am afraid not, she tends to go that diner downtown after school sometimes if you would like to check there." She replied with a smile. And thats when the knife twisted.
"Okay, thank you ma'am." I walked back to my car and drove to my house hoping she would get home and be safe, so that I could see her in the morning, even if she doesn't want to see me, because if not, that knife will go much farther than a small twist...
