Chapter 3
Sting and Rogue walk into the guild first to join everyone who was waiting in front of the banner with Gajeel and Levy following suit. Levy made her way to the front where the two chairs were located and Gajeel placed their things down on an empty table in the back corner of the guild before joining her up front. Except, instead of placing himself in the other chair, he picks Levy up and places her on his lap, wrapping his arms around her.
“Let's get this party started!” Mira exclaims, as everyone starts cheering. Levy lays her head back on Gajeel and smiles softly. Presents were passed to them one by one, and everyone watched in awe as they opened them. Getting a bunch of cute baby clothes, diapers and wipes, and things like a baby bouncer, a car seat, and more.
“Thank you everyone,” Levy says, after opening the last present.
“We're glad you like it,” Lucy smiles at Levy.
“Time for games!” Mira exclaims happily, and everyone else cheers.
The baby shower lasted for a few more hours until everyone was completely exhausted. Levy was basically falling asleep on Gajeel’s shoulder. “We should probably get you home,” Gajeel says softly, picking her up bridal style.” He looks at everyone and groans, wishing he didn't have to make this small speech. “Thanks for the party everyone, it looks like I'll have to come back for everything, I wanna get Levy home.” He says, making his way out of the guild. At the lowest possible volume, he asks all dragon slayers to meet him outside.
Thankfully, since the dragon slayers have such good hearing, everyone makes an excuse and follows him outside. “Walk with me, we're going to the new house, I need to give everyone the stuff they'll need.”
“While the party was going on, Rogue slipped out for a bit and did some research, magic cancelling cuffs won't affect the pregnancy.” Sting says.
Gajeel nods, “thanks for finding that out for me.”
Laxus, Wendy, and Natsu follow behind everyone with Cobra behind them. “Why didn't we just bring all the girls and Romeo with us?” Natsu sighs, “I hate being apart from Lucy.”
“We have to get everything ready first. I'm only bringing Levy now because she's fallen asleep and I don't want to leave her alone while she's pregnant.” Gajeel replies, rolling his eyes. “Plus, it'll be easier if y'all can get them there when they aren't expecting anything.”
“Sting and Rogue have it easy,” Laxus mutters, “they don't have to trick their mates.”
Sting grabbed Rogue’s hand in his and smiles, “and I'm glad to have him as my mate.”
Rogue has a tiny smile back, trying to hold back his own feelings. He was still upset with Sting but felt like he was being irrational.
The dragon slayers make their way out of the guild, Gajeel carrying Levy in his arms. She was sleeping peacefully with a smile on her face. Gajeel smiled down at her, “don't be mad at me,” he whispered to her even though she was asleep.
“So, you were able to get the stuff we need right?” Laxus asks, looking over at Gajeel.
“Yeah, having previously worked with the magic council proved to be extremely beneficial for this situation.”
Laxus goes around and hands everyone a key to the house, “don't tell anyone about this place,” he says, looking at Natsu and Sting, the two biggest blabbermouths of the group. He unlocks the door and heads inside, flipping on the lights. They had a big enough kitchen to cook for everyone and each dragon slayer and their mate has their own room, obviously.
Rogue locks the door with a keypad lock so only a key or code will unlock the door.
Gajeel makes his way towards his and Levy’s room, placing her down on bed and pulling the covers up over her. “Sleep well,” he whispers, kissing her on the forehead before locking the magic cancelling cuffs on her wrists, he has the kind that is just one person wrist so they don't have to deal with the chain locking their wrists together. They're dragon slayers, not monsters!
After leaving the room, he walks into the kitchen where the other dragon slayers were. “I think we're bringing Lucy next,” Sting says, rolling his eyes. “Natsu won't shut up.”
Gajeel nods, “I'm going to stay here with Levy, I'm sure Natsu can handle getting Lucy here on his own.”
“Of course I can! Now that the baby shower is over, she's all mine!”
“Rogue and I are gonna stay here too so that we don't have to go back home by train.” Sting says.
“Just remember, you have to wait till the full moon to mate with each other or else it won't work, don't get too caught up in the moment,” Cobra says, narrowing his eyes at the two dragon slayers.
Sting blushes and shakes his head, “shut up, we know!”
Rogue shakes his head and heads to the room he and Sting will be staying in. Is he ready to share a bed with Sting even though Sting couldn't even tell they were mates? He isn't angry at the blond dragon slayer, he's hurt. Was their bond not powerful enough for him to notice? Sitting down on the bed, he sighs and looks around. Hopefully, he stops feeling this way soon, he wants to be with Sting badly, like something in him will rip apart if he isn't.
Sting went after Rogue just a few minutes after he'd left. He felt like a huge douchebag right now. He didn't realize that Rogue and him were mates and honestly he didn't know how he didn't realize it sooner. This feeling inside Sting was friendship, it was a mating bond that was waiting to be snapped in place. He would be sleeping in the same bed as Rogue for the foreseeable future which excited him but also scared him. He had never slept with anyone before, especially someone he cared about. Was there a certain way you sleep when you sleep with someone? He walked into the bedroom to see Rogue sitting at the edge of the bed. Smiling at him, he sat down beside him and intertwined their hands.
Rogue looked down at their hands, not able to hide the smile that appeared on his face, “hey Sting.”
“I want to apologize again,” Sting says. “I didn't know what this feeling was that I was feeling and I mistook it for something it wasn't. I really do care about you and I hope you can forgive me, I want to make it up to you.”
“You don't have to make anything up to me,” Rogue responds, looking up to meet Sting’s eyes. “I can understand the fact that you didn't know what those feelings meant, I'm not mad, I'm hurt, I'll get over it soon.”
Sting nods, “that's a relief. So, um do you know how to sleep with someone?”
“What do you mean exactly?” Rogue asks, raising a brow.
“I've never done this kinda thing before…do you sleep differently when you sleep with someone?”
“No…” Rogue says, looking concerned for Sting. “You just go to sleep and if you want, we can cuddle,” Rogue says, blushing softly at that thought.
“Cuddling?” Sting asks, clearing his throat, “that sounds nice.”
Both dragon slayers were hopeless in the romance department, is there any hope for them in the future? It's up to them to figure all this out now.
Levy yawned as she woke up, sitting up. Did Gajeel bring her home? Last thing she remembered, they were still at the guild…maybe she fell asleep. She looked around the room with a frown on her face, it was dark but it still didn't look like her and Gajeel's room back at their house, maybe if she turns on the light, she'll find that she's being ridiculous. Slipping out of the bed, she blindly makes her eat too the wall, feeling for the light switch.
Once she finally finds it, she flips it on and looks around the room, expecting to find their room…not a room that's completely unfamiliar to her. She frowns and goes to grab the she handel but as soon as she does, she spots two black cuffs, one on each wrist. They looked like wrap around wraps or something.
She starts trying to take them off, starting to panic when they won't budge. “Gajeel?” She calls out frantically. She turns them over until she sees a little key hole and realization dawns on her, these are magic cancelling cuffs…whoever brought her hair, doesn't want her leaving. She immediately wraps her arms around her stomach, terrified for herself and her baby.
The door handle jiggles on the other side and she looks at the door, a look or fear and determination on her face. She backs up a few steps so she isn't as close to the door when it opens. Levy couldn't contain her joy when she saw Gajeel on the other side, a neutral expression on his face. “Gajeel! I'm so glad you're ok! Do you know why we're here? Nevermind, we need to get out of here first.”
“We can't do that,” Gajeel says, leading her towards the bed.
“What? Why not?” She asks, not budging from her spot.
“I brought you here baby but you aren't trapped. You can go anywhere in this house, you just can't go outside.”
“Y-you brought me here? Is someone blackmailing you? We can defeat them.”
“No one is blackmailing me, you're here because I want you to myself. The rest of the dragon slayers will have their mates here by the end of the week so you won't be alone, you'll have your friends.”
Levy’s eyes widen, “no…it's not…you aren't in…” she trails off, not finishing any of her sentences, Gajeel, you don't have to do this, we can be together without being mated.”
“You wouldn't understand why being mated is so important,” Gajeel sighs, sitting down on the bed. “That's why I brought you here, so that we can be mates no matter what.”
“Gajeel please,” Levy says, let's just go home, convince the others not to bring their mates and we can talk this out. Mating so so dangerous!”
“For a dragon, mating season is basically the same thing as marriage. It's sacred amoung them and having a mate is to be celebrated. It lets all the other dragons know that their lover is off limits. However, for dragon slayers, we're human with dragon abilities so both marriage and mating season is sacred to us. This is extremely important to me but after all that reading you did, I know you wouldn't say yes, especially because everything in that book is true. We get very possessive over our mates and mating brings us together as one…one heart.”
Levy glares at Gajeel, “so you think kidnapping me is the best idea?” She should, starting to get angry. She understands this is important to him but this is something they should talk about!
“You wouldn't have agreed otherwise,” he shrugs. He stands and walks over to Levy, wrapping her into a hug. “I love you Levy and I'll do anything for you but right now, I need you to be ok with this, for me. You're my everything and it's time to show everyone else they can't have you.”
Levy softens at his touch, he always had a way of doing that to her, “will the baby be ok during the process?” She asks, moving a hand to her belly.
“Yes, don't worry, the others helped me with some research on it,” he says, kissing her forehead. “I wouldn't do anything to put you or the baby in danger.”
“Why don't we just do it tonight so that we can go home?”
“Unfortunately, the mating process has to be done on a full moon, we have one week until then.”
Levy sighs, “alright…will you at least take off the cuffs?”
Gajeel shakes his head, “you might try to leave, this ensures you can't.”
“You can trust me.”
“Babe, I love you and I do trust you, just…not on this specific issue. Please, just don't worry about anything. You have free range of the house and I'll be here with you.”
Levy rolls her eyes and sits down on the opposite end of the bed, “fine.” She wasn't giving up but she needed him to believe that she was while she came up with a plan. “Did you bring me anything to do?”
Of course, we've had this house ready for years, waiting for everyone to find their mates. It's traditional to do it with others.” He walks over to the closet and pulls out a bag. “This has all your favorite things in it. Remember, you don't have to stay cooped up in here. I'm going to check on dinner, I was in the process of cooking earlier.” He kisses her on the lips, “I love you.”
“Love you too,” Levy mumbels, looking through the bag. She was extremely unhappy with the situation.
