Chapter 16: Confrontations + A Nightly Visitor

Delilah's P.O.V.

I smiled as I looked at how I was almost transformed into a wolf. My hair in a wild, yet beautiful style and an outfit that represented their culture and lifestyle. It felt right. As if I was meant to be like this.

All the wolves howled, making me do the same. I looked and saw my mates all looking at me with admiration, love and joy before howling with me.

"Delilah!"

I turned and saw Zed running towards me and I could see my friends all here. "Zed!" I shouted as he came over and stood in front of me in a protective stance.

"Don't make me take this off, you don't want to see me zombie out!" he warned. The wolves began snarling before his Z-band flew off and he went into zombie mode.

I gasped as I ran to search for the Z-band.

"Wolves!" Willa shouted.

They all snarled and growled at him, ready to attack. I finally got the Z-band and looked up, only to see him toss one of the wolves with his zombie strength.

I got up and ran to him. "No, stop!"

When I got to him, I placed the Z-band back on his wrist and he reverted back to normal.

"Zed, I want to be here." I told him.

"What?" he asked in confusion.

"But, you disappeared and we couldn't find you!" Bree exclaimed.

"I left a note on Addison's door, did she not see it?" I asked.

Both of their faces burned with embarrassment as they realized what I was talking about. "Oh."

I turned to look at Zed. "They think I may be a werewolf too."

"What? How?" he asked.

"Maybe a grandparent. Or even my mother! My hair means something. This could be my pack." I explained.

My mates walked up to where we were and I noticed Willa had something in her hands.

"For centuries, this has been set aside for the Great Alpha." she explained, opening the box and revealing a beautiful moonstone necklace.

"A fully-charged moonstone is priceless to us, Delilah." Wyatt added.

"If you're truly one of us, when you put it on, you will be transformed into werewolf. Part of our pack. Forever." his sister informed, looking at me with hope and love.

"What? No! Wait." Zed told me.

I rolled my eyes. What was his problem? Does he not realize that I have a chance to feel like I belonged somewhere for the first time in the past 10 years?

"Can I think about it?" I asked.

My mates looked at each other and had a mental discussion before Willa looked at me. "For a day."

I took the box from her.

"Once you've joined us, you will lead us tot he hidden moonstone." Wyatt explained.

"But, she doesn't know where it is." Wynter added.

Suddenly, the den started to shake. I caught my balance before we went off to see where it was coming from.

I looked and saw lights coming from Seabrook Power. Bonzo said something in zombie.

"Yeah. The explosion came from Seabrook Power." Zed agreed.

"They must be testing charges for the demolition tomorrow." Addison said.

"Seabrook Power is the birthplace of zombies." Eliza said.

"A little lime soda mixed with some mysterious energy and bang!" he shouted, scaring Wynter. "Zombies."

She snarled at him and he backed off. I laughed at my mate's bravery.

Mysterious energy? What if that's the moonstone? It gives off energy to the necklaces, so maybe that's where it could be!

"Nice story, but it doesn't concern us." Willa told him.

"But, it does concern you, Willa. Seabrook Power was fueled by a mysterious energy source. That could be your moonstone, right?" I explained.

"She found the moonstone! She's amazing. If she's right." Wyatt said, excited.

My mates were looking at me in awe and I noticed the smile on the alpha's face.

"We'll see you at school tomorrow, Delilah." Willa told her.

"Right, tomorrow. Big day." I replied before walking off.

It was then I decided to do one thing. I went to my mates and gave each of them a kiss. They all wrapped their arms around me in a hug.

"I can't wait until you become the Great Alpha." Wynter said.

"You are the perfect fit. Elder Wes was right about you. You're the one we've been looking for." Willa added.

"Meet us at the trophy section tomorrow after lunch. We'll be waiting." Wyatt said.

I smiled and nodded before Addy wrapped her arm around me and helped guide me out of the den.

When we got back home, I did my nightly routine and got into my bed. I put the box containing the necklace on my nightstand and shut the lamp off. Before I knew it, I was out like a light.

*Dream*

I opened my eyes and found myself in the Forbidden Forest. Only this time, there was blue lights and it seemed like something out of a fairy tale. I saw some wolves running and animals by the stream.

I walked forward as I saw a blue orb in front of me.

"Follow me, my sweet." a feminine voice sounded through the orb.

"Who are you?" I asked.

The orb began to fly straight and I followed it. Soon, it ended up going into a waterfall and I stopped in my tracks. Soon, a woman with white hair and blue eyes came out, a blue aura surrounding her. Recognition flashed before me like a bullet and I felt the tears forming in my eyes. The first time of me seeing her since I was 5.

"Mom." I sobbed out.

She smiled at me. "Oh, my babygirl. Come here." she said.

I ran into her arms and hugged her tightly, happy tears going down my cheeks. She breathed in relief as she stroke my hair.

I felt warmth and comfort being in her arms again. She still had the vanilla scent I kept as a memory before she passed. I was seeing my mother and I was happy.

"Mommy, I wish you were still here with me. So much has happened." I cried into her shoulder.

She pulled away and looked at me. "Oh, my baby. It pains me that your father did that to you with her. If I was there, I would've showed them how mean this mama wolf would be." She flashed her claws at the last part.

I laughed through my tears before she wiped them away. "You look so much like him, but you could never be like him. You remind me of myself when I was young. Determined to find what I desired and never gave up despite the struggles."

She grabbed my hand and led me to a fallen tree, the both of us sitting down.

"Mom, I need to know the truth. Who am I exactly? Why does the pack think I'm the Great Alpha? Is it because of my hair?" I asked.

"More than you know, sweetheart. You are the one they've been looking for. I was the Great Alpha and the last one they had. I was happy to be a leader to the pack. I remember seeing Willa, Wyatt, and Wynter playing around as pups. When I got pregnant with you, the pack was excited. However, when I married your father, I had to leave and we got a house in the forest. I was still Alpha, even from a distance. Then, when you were 5 years old, rogues were on the loose." she explained.

"Rogues?" I asked.

"They're just like us, but more violent and hell-bent on chaos. One part of a pack, but got kicked out or left on their own. They live in the deepest, darkest part of the Forbidden Forest. The rogues invaded Seabrook. Them and their Alpha, Cameron, my ex-boyfriend were after you because they wanted the Great Alpha's bloodline within their pack. So, I decided to give up my powers in order to protect you. I went to the pack with your father and told Aunt Winona to take the necklace and save it for you when your time came. I told them that if something were to happen to me, my powers would be passed down to my daughter. I began dying slowly and I remember going with your aunt and father to the house. I made him swear to take care of you and not let the rogues find you. I told him to take you and run away to Seabrook once I passed, since the laws were in effect. You were by my side until i took my last breath." she finished.

Everything hit me like fray train. I was destined to become the Great Alpha after all? There was such a big sacrifice to help me. My mom told me the truth about who I really was and my destiny.

"Is she a nurse of the pack? Her husband happens to be the pack doctor." I said. "Yes. Wes and Winona." she told me.

"They're my aunt and uncle?" I asked. She nodded her head with a smile on her face.

So, I did have a good amount of family left? Werewolves who helped me get better and get bakc on my feet.

"They helped save me, Mommy." I told her. She nodded her head. "I know, my dear. And for that, I am truly grateful."

"But, why did she leave?" I asked.

"Cameron had captured her and took her away. I've been watching over all of you. That's where she met Wes, his brother. He was a rogue, but he fell in love with her and betrayed them. He helped her escape and they came back home. Winona told him everything about you and that's why he was so protective and relieved when they find out you were alive."

Great, now I have a psycho Alpha werewolf as an uncle as well.

"I have to talk to them soon." I replied, to which she agreed.

I remembered to tell her the most happy thing that had happened to me.

"I found my mates, Mom. I've never felt so happy to be with them." I explained.

She smiled warmly and hugged me. "I am happy you found your true loves. I wish I could meet them, but maybe one day in their dreams I will."

I smiled against her shoulder as she stroked my hair.

"Listen, Delilah. You're ready. I know it may all seem too soon, but this is your destiny. You're the Great Alpha and the most powerful werewolf in the world. I am so proud of you and I love you to the moon and back. It's your time now." she explained, taking something off her wrist and placing it in my hand.

I nodded before she kissed my head gently. "I love you, Mommy."

I smiled back at her. "Love you more, babygirl."

"Not possible."

"Yes possible."

I chuckled before the both of us stood up. "Now, I'm going to let you go. Remember, I will always be here if you need me."

I nodded before a bright light emerged form her and engulfed my vision.

*End of Dream*

I woke up and looked around the room. I noticed there was some sweat on my forehead. Looking down, I saw what she gave me in the dream. I remembered it was the bracelet she always wore when she was alive. Teal stones wrapped with brown leather. I smiled before putting it on and feeling her with me.

(A/N: Pretend the silver part is bronze anytime it pops up.)

Getting up, I went to the bathroom and decided I needed a late-night bath. To ease my mind and take in all the information of my life.

I was no longer the Delilah everybody knew. I was the Great Alpha's daughter. The most powerful wolf in the werewolf world.

I was a different person now. The old me is in the past now. I will no longer allow people to push me around and treat me like trash, no matter who they are. I'm stronger now and powerful. I can't be hurt anymore.

It was time to accept my destiny.

A destiny to become the leader that the pack had been searching so long for.

It was time to be.........

The Great Alpha.
