Loki Laufeyson, God of tricks and mischief, never ever thought that he would fall for some pathetic mortal. Except she wasn't pathetic - no - she was the most ravishing, incredible, stunning human being he had ever met. Most considered him to be a 'lone wolf' kind of person and even he did too until his bottle green eyes fell upon her one evening when Loki had decided to investigate what life on earth was like. He was a naturally curious being and simply couldn't help himself. Loki had wandered into a party and had met his sweet lover there.
The first time Loki approached her in the evening, he accidentally spilt his drink on her as other dancers in the crowd had barged past him and before he could apologise, his actions had earned him quite a harsh slap before she snapped at him and then proceeded to walk off. Of course her feisty personality only attracted him to her more. A couple drinks later he approached her again and she appeared to be in a calmer state than before so he actually managed to get a conversation out of her. On several occasions she had slurred how good looking he was which caused his mouth to turn up at the sides every time. When it was time to go home, Loki simply teleported her home like the gentleman he was but before he could leave, she grabbed his hand pulling him close again. Not for a kiss but she asked him to stay. How could he refuse an opportunity to get to know her better? Loki hadn't accepted her one advance in her drunken state and instead led her to her room to make sure she was actually in bed and not trying to do anything stupid.
Once again, her hand had reached out to his and he paused as she asked him to stay. Loki lay on his side on the bed facing her. They spoke for a while even though most words were ridiculous babble due to her intoxicated state but he stayed the whole night, just to watch over her. When morning came around, Loki explained what had happened which earned him her more sober interest. Before he left, she had simply asked to see him again which he gladly agreed to.
Months and months of seeing the captivating mortal went by with some of the more recent evenings ending under the covers for long nights of passion. Loki and the young woman kept their relationship private for the most part after he had told her the truth about where he was from. Loki kept the relationship secret from those on Asgard though (apart from Heimdall), in mere fear that Odin would tell him to end it. For once, Loki was head over heels for something that wasn't inanimate (like the throne) and he didn't want to give up on love so easily and thus thought it best that none of his other relations knew. He thought everything was going well until their most recent meet up in which she told Loki quite seriously that they needed to talk.
He had sat down at the table with her as she pulled out a pregnancy test with a positive sign on it. Loki had looked at it in disbelief and had looked up to see her reaction with unsureness in his expression. He didn't even know that that was possible between their two different races. Then she asked the question that anyone would dread:
"Do you want it?"
His bottle green eyes met her empathetic ones in uncertainty before he explained that he never thought he would ever find someone to consider having a family with until he had met her. However, after a long conversation, they came to an agreement to keep the child.
Loki visited her everyday for nine months which passed terribly quickly. On the day of which she went into labour though, there were complications with the birth and Loki had been ushered out of the delivery room urgently as doctors, nurses and surgeons ran in. Worry creased his brow as he waited for the news of his child's birth. Except a doctor with a woeful expression walked out first to talk with Loki. The complications had been fatal for his lover but a healthy baby boy had still been delivered.
Loki never even got to say goodbye.
A short while later though, a quiet baby boy, wrapped up in a soft blue blanket was handed to Loki. The baby had her eyes. Briefly, his glance looked up through he glass into the delivery room to see his lover unmoving. His eyes blurred with tears but he blinked them away as he thought about what he would do. Loki couldn't raise the child on his own. What if he wasn't a good enough father on his own? He couldn't take the child back to Asgard - he knew Odin wouldn't allow it which left him with one other choice; to give him away.
Loki had picked out a nice looking home in the hopes that the couple would take him in. They would be more willing if they didn't see him around so he found a small box to place his son in and he set down the child on the doorstep, mumbling apologies and explanations about how this would be best. He knocked on the door and giving one last look to the baby boy, he vanished from sight, still there to make sure they took the young boy in, but invisible to onlookers. To his relief, the couple of which he learned their names to be May and Ben, had welcomed the young baby with open arms into their home. They would be good for him, Loki knew it.
The God didn't completely abandon his child; he watched him grow through the eyes of Heimdall whom was the only person he trusted to know of what had happened. Loki learned that they had named him Peter, not what he saw him to be called when he was born but the young boy grew into his name. A smile always lighted Loki's lips when Heimdall showed him what he could see. Whilst Loki wasn't with Peter, he would watch from afar.

As usual, Ned was bugging Peter about the hero work he'd been doing lately. Ned couldn't help himself and he was sure that many other people in his situation wouldn't be able to either - after all, how often was it that one found out that their best friend was a superhero also working with other very well known superheroes?
"So, tell me the details." Ned had surprised his friend as though he had magically appeared from thin air.
Peter jumped slightly and yet sighed as he close his locker, "Ned, I told you, I haven't been called to do any more missions recently."
Ned looked down to the floor with a saddened look but then looked back to Peter with a hopeful one again, "Can you tell me about the fight you had with Captain America again?"
Peter shook his head as he began to walk away, feel the irritation rise as though a pot of water was about to boil over, "Ned, please, for just one day, give me a break." He had turned to him with his hands in a praying position as he begged.
Now Peter normally didn't get annoyed at Ned but his friend frowned at him, "Are you okay?" He could tell something was up.
And something was up but Peter just didn't know how to explain it himself. He had been on edge for most of the week at school, always biting his tongue to prevent himself from saying something that could be considered regrettable. It was odd; his personality had changed to that of a colder one like the flick of a switch. Maybe the spider bite was having a late effect on him? Maybe it was old feelings from Uncle Ben's funeral? It was getting to that time of year after all. He didn't really know for sure but Peter could only hope and pray that it was nothing bad. Peter just needed some time alone was all.
"Yeah, Ned, I just need to get home." Peter sighed, offering him an apologetic look.
As he walked away from Ned though, Flash turned the corner with an amused smile on his face, "Well if it isn't 'Penis Parker' - "
"Flash, I really can't deal with this today." Came Peter's exasperated response as he continued walking away.
"That's what your mum said though isn't it?" Flash retorted although most people in the corridor rolled their eyes at his pathetic joke.
Peter, on the other hand, spun around, moving his hand towards the floor and as he did and a bolt of blue shot out of his hand towards Flash's foot, "I told you not to!" He snapped and then his eyes widened when he realised what he had done.
Kids gawked and went silent and Peter's eyes widened as he saw that Flash's foot had almost been bolted down by a firm covering of ice. Even Flash panicked, trying to get his foot out except the ice had engulfed him up until just before his knee. Flash looked down in awe but then panic when he realised he was stuck and he could feel the bitter cold reaching through his leg and almost grasping at his bone. The boy shuddered.
"He - hey, you freak, what the hell have you done!?" Flash looked up to Peter with horror and vexation laced in his tone.
Ned spoke up in awe, "Dude, you never told me you had ice powers!"
"I - I don't!" Peter stuttered in pure shock himself, "Flash, man, I'm so sorry."
Another bystander then added, "If the ice is real, he could lose his leg."
Flash's head whipped up to the crowd around them with even more panic lighting his face, "What - what do you mean 'lose my leg'? I can't lose my leg - oh God - Parker - you - you freak, get me out of this."
"I - I don't know how!" Peter was panicking just as much as some others took photos of the ordeal.
"Don't just stand there - someone do something!" Flash yelled again, trying to claw at the ice himself.
"I'm so so sorry - " Peter's worried expression clung to his face like velcro as he backed away from a scene.
"What going on here? Everyone should be making their way home." Came a teacher's voice from behind Peter.
When they saw what had happened to Flash, they looked at Peter with shock, stepping away from then slightly. Flash practically whimpered as the solid ice continued to chill him to the bone.
"What on earth happened?" The teacher asked again, looking from the crowd to the two boys.
"I - I don't - " Peter shook his head, still trying to back out of the crowd.
"It was that freak - he did this!" Flash yelled as he pointed to Peter again.
The teacher looked ready to shout herself, "Mr Parker, where are you going? Whatever you've done, sort it out now."
"I don't know what I've done!" He suddenly snapped, motioning the frustration with his arms and as he did, an icy sheet spread out from under his feet and his hands turned a faint shade of blue.
As he saw everyone back away from him, including his friend Ned, Peter looked down to the floor and to his hands in shock as well before sprinting off, away from the crowd of people. What was happening to him? He felt so unnatural and different - spiders couldn't give you icy powers could they? What if he had been exposed to something when he was fighting with Tony against Cap and his team? He didn't know - at the end of the day, Peter was still just a terrified child with no clue about his real parents.

Loki had arrived at the Bifrost for his daily chat to Heimdall about Peter. He arrived with a reserved demeanor and before he could even state that he had arrived and why, Heimdall spoke up.
"You are here to find out about Peter, I presume?" He spoke in a light tone.
"You know me too well by now." Loki spoke with the hint of a smile, keen to hear about how his son was doing.
"Well, you have been visiting me almost everyday for sixteen years." Heimdall pointed out, stepping down from the stand and looking out of the window to the stars.
Heimdall looked past the burning orbs in the sky and looked further. Whilst he was normally met with great joy, he saw immense fear instead. Loki waited to hear but realised he was waiting longer than he normally did for Heimdall to tell him. He approached the gatekeeper with concern as he stood by him. Heimdall searched more, unconvinced it was Peter he was seeing until he was certain.
"What's wrong?" Loki pushed for answers.
"Your son, he - he's frightened and feels a lack of control." Heimdall paused before heading to back to the podium in the centre of the room, "He is in danger, you must find him - I will send you as close as possible to his whereabouts." He spoke clearly with worry lacing his tone as he turned the sword, "You must go now."
Loki froze, "I can't though."
Heimdall looked at him with faith, "Your son needs you - now, go."
Loki saw the look of trust in Heimdall's gaze as he nodded for him to go. He was right, Peter needed his real father and if he had to explain why he left him at the same time then so be it. Loki wouldn't let his own son suffer when he was in need of help. That said, he didn't actually know what help he would be giving yet but if Heimdall thought it to be urgent then it would most likely be that his son was in danger.

Peter practically sprinted out of the school, dreading being stopped by someone in case of the outcome of a confrontation like before. He had bolted right into an alleyway, away from people just so he could process what was happening. Was this really effect of the spider bite? Or what if he was exposed to something when he was last with Tony? His chest rose and fell quickly as the anxieties permanently pinned themselves to the walls of his mentality. What if Flash got really badly hurt? I mean sure, he didn't really like the guy, but he was supposed to be a hero - not a monster. Peter's brow knotted in the middle as he gazed at his hands which still had a blue tinge in them. Maybe Tony could help him? He didn't want to hurt anyone else. As he turned to leave though, Peter collided with a man a couple of inches taller than him.
Peter's eyes widened as recognised the pale skinned and dark haired man to be Loki, "Whoa, you're the guy who almost destroyed New York. Look, I haven't done anything wrong - " He spoke quickly as he held his hands up in defence and backed away from Loki.
On the other hand, Loki was rooted to the spot for a moment in slight disbelief at the fact he was standing in front of his sixteen-year-old son, "I'm not here to hurt you, I just came to make sure that you're alright." He finally spoke up.
Now, confusion lit up Peter's eyes, "What?"
Loki noticed the blue shade of his hands, "I can help you control it." He nodded in acknowledgement to his problem.
However Peter still looked at him perplexed, "What do you mean? You know what's going on with me? Did Mr Stark send you then?" He then looked around as if expecting Tony to appear from out of a bin.
A small smile lighted Loki's face, "No, I know what's happening because," He paused in consideration of what effect his next words could have - they could potentially make or break the future relationship he could have with his son, "I'm your real father."
Each word hit Peter like shards of ice and he shook his head with an amused albeit nervous smile, "No, no - this - you're lying to me because you're planning something - you're going to hypnotise me too and you're going to use me to get to Mr Stark or whatever and I won't fall for it."
As Peter spoke now, the blue shade crept up his arms more and Loki knew that if he didn't calm Peter down soon, then worse things could happen. He didn't know what was happening, therefore Peter obviously had no clue how to control it. For a moment, Loki acknowledged that Peter looked so much like his mother:
"I'm not here to trick you, Peter - please, I know it's hard to understand - " Loki pleaded with his son to listen to him.
"Prove it then." Peter snapped at him.
Loki gave him a sympathetic look as he used his sorcery to reveal his Frost Giant form. The blue skin and the red eyes was enough to startle Peter at the sight of him. Although, when Peter looked down at his frost blue arms and then back to Loki in comparison his mouth fell agape slightly as he shook his head with incredulity once again. Loki approached Peter cautiously though, gently grabbing his wrists:
"You need to calm down," Loki's tone was sangfroid, "If you let your frustration take over then the power will react to that too."
As Loki spoke to Peter, the blue tint gradually left Peter's skin. Somehow, Peter found Loki successfully calming him down. Loki had this rarely seen gentle, trusting look in his eyes as he brought Peter in for an embrace. Peter accepted the hug, feeling somewhat at home as he did.
"Why did you leave me?" Peter asked, now sullenly yet not backing out of the hug just yet.
Loki was silent for a moment, "It's complicated."
Peter pulled away now with an inquisitive look, "I have time - "
"Peter - "
"No, you can't just show up now without an explanation," He shook his head at Loki, "You can't just say you're my real dad and then leave - does Mr Stark know?"
"No and I'd like to keep it like that." Loki's tone took more of colder turn.
"But why? I have so many questions - "
"Peter, please - "
"And you have to come back anyways."
"Why?" Now Loki was interested to know.
"You said you would help show me how to control the blue skin ice powers thing." He pointed out.
Loki had put himself in a corner without realising, "I did technically - "
"Stay calm you said. What happens when I can't?"
Loki was lost for words and Peter was right. He would need to come back to show him how to control it properly - what he had done was merely and temporary fix. Perhaps it was time for the truth to come out. With a sigh, Loki gave a small nod:
"Okay, okay, I'll come back - on one condition."
"Anything." Peter looked up at Loki with a raised brow.
"You keep quiet and I tell those who should know about you being my son."
"That's fine by me." Peter nodded quickly with an understanding gaze.
Another soft smile crept across Loki's lips and Peter found himself smiling too as he hugged Loki again.
"Wait - does this mean that Thor's my Uncle?" Came another question.
"Yes." Loki answered with a bit of a wider smile at his realisation.
"That's awesome." Peter chuckled.
"It is isn't it?" Loki smiled as he hugged back.
Maybe reconnecting with Peter wouldn't be as bad as Loki thought it could be. He could just tell that Tony would not be impressed though but to Ragnarok with what he thought. Peter was his son and he wouldn't be leaving him again anytime soon.
