"Hey babe how was your day?"

"Fine"

This was your usual conversation with Stephen ever since you got married. He stopped being affectionate as much and hardly touched you anymore after the honeymoon. Conversations were one sided and he was always either working as a surgeon or saving the world. You understood that he was busy but the romance still shouldn't fade so soon..atleast not for a long Time right?

Dammit I want to touch him and do all the things we were doing before we got married

You leave Stephen alone in the room as you sit on your shared bed and think of what could have caused the distance. All the overthinking was driving you mad with what could have caused the change in his behavior.

You decide to try this one thing just to see if Stephen will notice you and ravish you like you used to when you were in love and couldn't keep your hands off eachother. You then find your favorite robe to hide the surprise and try to set the mood as you lay on the bed waiting for him to come to bed..

Earlier He had noticed you left but went on about his business, he was trying to finish up work so he could surprise you later but you didn't know about it. A couple of hours later he finally finished his work and headed to your shared room, only you were asleep laid out horizontally while wearing your surprise slightly being revealed and Stephen smiled as he saw you drooling a bit.

He removed your robe then carried you bridal style and laid you on your side, kissing your temple and laying the blanket over you. It took him extreme will power to not wake you up and have his way with you but he wanted to get his work done fast so he could surprise you and make up for all the times he's missed with you.

-The next day-

You had woken up before Stephen And you noticed your lingerie was still intact.

You decided to go to the bathroom and relieve yourself while remembering all the wild things you and Stephen would do back then. Touching yourself didn't help much but atleast you got something done to you. You and Stephan had to get ready for a party at Tony's house to celebrate being alive after yet another Battle.

"Yeah?"

"Go on ahead without me, I'll meet you there after I've sorted something"

You were upset on the inside but smiled as you nodded at him then left for the party. Once you arrived you saw all of the avengers, Tony came to greet you then you walked around to say hello to everyone. When Tony saw you in your dress, he gave you the look you wanted Stephen to have as he saw you.

"Hey (y/n) I gotta tell you, you look great. Where Stephen?"

"At home probably got his nose in papers again" You sigh, you really wanted him with you today.

"Well he's missing out cause the way I see you you're something no guy should look at once"

You had an idea to flirt back, it was nice to have some attention even if it's from someone you considered a friend.

"You're not so bad to look at yourself" you touch his upper arm and slide is downwards whilst giving Tony your kind smile.

"Ah Stephen! Glad you could make it"

You didn't hear Stephen's name being called as you were still talking to Tony. As Stephen walked towards the room with a smile on his face and (your fave flowers) in hand, he saw your arm as it lingered on on Tony's arm. His face changed from happy to hurt in a heartbeat and he explained to Pepper that something came up and left quickly.

"Hey (y/n) what's wrong with Stephen?"

"What do you mean?" You stopped talking to Tony a few minutes ago and talked to Steve, you really wanted Stephen to flirt with you not Tony.

"Well he just came in and suddenly left looking like he lost his most treasured possession"  Realization had struck you.

He saw you and Tony flirting and ran off to read his most treasured spell books, you assume he must not love you anymore since he didn't fight for you. You told Tony you had to leave and ran out driving home after Stephen. You finally arrived home and saw bits and pieces of petals leading all the way to your bedroom and an opened bottle of alcohol in the kitchen. You took a hold of the bottle and chugged it down, nervous to face your husband sober. You didn't want to feel hurt again when you see him with his nose in a book instead of on you again.

You entered the room slightly buzzed seeing a disheveled Stephen wearing his white button up shirt with his tie hanging loosely and dress pants along with his shoes off.  Stephen's hand was brushing through his hair in frustration leaving you a bit confused until you saw the flowers in his hand.

"Stephen?" He stopped and slowly looked at you with puffy Red eyes. You were surprised he wasn't reading his books again.

"Why?"

Silence

"Why were you flirting with Stark?"

"C-can we just talk bout this later?" You slur your words a bit as you try to go to your side to sleep.

"No we need to talk about this now. Why did I see you flirting with Stark?!" His tone the most furious he's ever had and it made you flinch.

"I was I-I was just" you were so loopy from the alcohol you just had you couldn't even explain.

"Are you cheating on me now behind my back is that it!?" He walks towards you causing you to walk backwards that your knees hit the bed and you sat on your side. With Stephen towering over you.

"Well y-you were busy and I-"

"That's not an excuse to cheat on me!"

"I didn't fucking cheat on you! If you just bothered to give me some attention I wouldn't feel like I'm stuck in a shithole!"

He waited and let you continue.

"I don't even have eyes f-for anyone else but you..but you care more about your fucking books more than me" you leer up at him in confidence and start to tug Stephen closer to you by his shirt.

I missed you being near me

"I don't care for-"

"Yes you do! Stop lying! Everytime i see you, you have yet another book in your hands. You don't even touch me or look my way anymore" you tug more on his shirt and try to have him touching you but he tries to pry your hands away stopping you.

"You're drunk (y/n)" he tries to pull away but you hold on tighter.

"N-no I'm not! Im angry and hurt and..I-i feel like I'm being used because I cook and clean and fuck you!" He looks at you confused as you continue while tears roll down your face.

"I know y-you're busy saving the world but atleast just a few hours..be the man the fell in love with again..spend time with me, love me" you whisper as your hold of him tightens. Embarrassment at your admission made you hide in his shirt.

He stops and thinks about the newfound information you've spilled your heart about. Shock and a sense of stupidity infiltrated his mind at how he's made you feel.

Does she truly feel that way? Doesn't she know I love her..

You feel a warm embrace while your face is still in Stephen's shirt. His large hand caresses your head calming you down slowly. The smell of pumpkin pie from an air freshener you opened not long ago hit your nose immensely, it was now apart of Stephen's clothes causing you to be hungry for something other than pie..

As a surprise you tug hard on Stephen's shirt catching even him off guard as it made him to land on top of you on your bed. You try to lean up to kiss him But stop as he places his warm hands on your cheeks as he gazed at you with adoration and love in his eyes. The same eyes he had for you as you two dated, and when you got married.

"I love you" your heart raced as you heard him. It's been a while..

"I am..sorry that I haven't been telling you that like you deserved. But never forget my feelings for you are beyond reasoning that even I can't explain it.." he gently places his forehead against your own. You had forgiven him the moment he said he loves you, but you decided to play hard to get.

"I would still like an explanation.." you try to hide your smirk, it went noticed by Stephen as he raised his eyebrow at you.

"Then how about instead of repeating myself..I'll just show you instead hmm?"

"Let's do it" you smile, the alcohol still in your system makes you feel calmer now.

He starts to gently kiss your face, leading his way towards your neck, collarbone. He hears you moan and only spurs him on some more. He sucks your skin leaving love bites everywhere he went. Suddenly the sound of you snoring stops him, he sighs but looks up and yup..you were asleep.

"Darling..do you want me to go?" Inside he hoped you were just messing with him and wasn't falling asleep. He really missed you.

"Yeah you can go away now.." then sleep takes a hold of you and it leaves Stephen shocked, hurt but understanding.

I most certainly wouldn't want to do this while she's intoxicated anyhow.

He lays you down in your shared bed and covers you up with the blanket. Then pushes a piece of your loose strands of hair and kisses your forehead, your cheek then your lips. The little touches made you smile as you slept, in return he smiled back.

"I love you (y/n). Goodnight love" He then leaves to the couch after grabbing aspirin and orange juice to leave by your side.
