CHAPTER TWO: DECIDED INDECISION

I tapped my fingers on the folder I was carrying and looked up to scan the gorgeous building I was in.

The head office of WWG more looked like an amusement park to me I have always wished to visit when I was a kid.

The shining marbles, furnished front office with a huge television screen which flashed the new products and fashion line the company launched.

The entrance had huge glass walls which opened to the beautiful garden and to the other sections residing in each building separately.

I will be honest. I really want to walk around such a company someday or take the current company I am working to this level.

"Ms. Singhal... " the receptionist looked around calling my surname.

"That's me" I raised my hand and she smiled.

I walked to her and she guided me to go to the top floor which was obviously the floor of CEOs office.

Covering the folder across my chest I walked to the lift.

When I reached the other part of the lift when it stopped at my destination I was dumbstruck to find the whole floor being designed into a single cabin.

Woah

This was breathtakingly beautiful. I looked around to find Mr. Wadhwa and also looked at the alluringly beautiful wooden decor.

"Ms. Reeva?" I heard my name from the left side of the cabin where there was a glass partition to One more room.

"Yes" I answered to the familiar voice my heart beat raising suddenly to the marvel of the cabin.

"Can you please sit. I will be back in a moment" Mr. Wadhwa spoke.

"Sure" I answered him and sat on a chair looking around the huge cabin analyzing every detail of it.

The interior walls were painted in Pearl white and the furniture was completely wooden. The table had a glass top and there was a intercom of the wooden colour. A mac book and a mac desktop. There was a carpet of dull grey colour which kept the cold floor warm.

The backside of the cabin had glass walls which showed the wonderful skyline of the city.

On the right there was one more room which was partitioned by the same type of glass wall covered with window shutters.

I was intrigued to know what does the other side of the door opens to.

"Hello" Mr. Wadhwa's voice boomed in that silent room.

I couldn't stop myself from jumping but soon relaxed when I turned to look at him.

He looked more handsome today without the baggy eyes and chappy lips.

Still with the sharp jaw covered with beard and neatly combed hair into a short ponytail.

His eyes flickered on me and I smiled back.

"Sorry I kept you waiting just was on a call" he settled himself across the huge table and rested his elbows on the glass.

His muscles bulged and I couldn't help but notice how insanely fit and handsome he was.

I quickly looked up into his eyes.

"You wanted to discuss the job" I initiated when the tension in the room started to build up a bit due to long silence.

I saw his chest falling when he sighed.

"You are so business all the time aren't you?" he  relaxed and my brows twitched in confusion.

"Then why am I here in first place?" I answered gaining a bit confidence.

"You got me there" he pointed and my lips curved up a little.

He bit his lower lip inside. And again there was silence. He made me uncomfortable under his gaze.

"You would like to have something?" he offered.

As much as I wanted to taste the delicacies of this Royal office I did not wanted this meeting to extend.

"Um.. No thank you. I am full" I smiled nervously.

"A cup of coffee will not harm your stomach" he  said pressing a button on the intercom still looking at me.

Again my breathing started to damage.

"Don't bother" I tried to stop him.

"I insist" he shifted to One side and I gave in without much struggle.

"Rao send two cup of Latte with sugar..." he quizzically looked at me.

"I have no idea" I blurted.

"Normal" he said. "In some time Mr. Wadhwa" the man I assume his chef spoke and the line went blank.

Mr. Wadhwa completely shifted to sit facing me.

"Right the job" he started and I nodded my head.

He looked at his wrist watch and I wondered why? May be he needed coffee. Or may be he was planning to wind up the meeting.

"I actually thought of mailing it to you but I wanted to make sure you get the things right. Because as soon as you understand the responsibilty and the client it's better" he spoke and I nodded in response.

"Your main job will be to look after all the PR works related to our company. You can have assistants for it so that you can complete the job on time..."

"Hold on. You said I have to do it alone" I looked at him confused for a moment.

"Yeah that was for one more prospect of your job" he pursed his lips looking at me unsure.

"You never said there will be more to it" I was flabbergasted.

"I clearly said managing the whole process didn't I?" he asked and I weakly nodded my head.

"In that managing you have to manage someone's personal PR processes" he said studying the expression on my face.

"Excuse me" I gave him an unpleased look.

He wiped his face and leaned back.

"Hey Senior S. My manager is here already?" I heard a voice from the door on the right.

The man walked and stood beside Mr.Wadhwa.

Emergency life support stopped working.

Why am I in a huge cabin under the gaze of two men who are watching me like they are wolves and I am the prey they had to fight for.

Suffocating.

Given the first chance I want to run out of here. Again I stopped breathing.

There stood a man who was in his late twenties. Muscular toned and

Oh my god.

I closed my eyes behind my right palm. Is he insane or something. He wasn't wearing a shirt.

My mind played the image of his abs which were perfectly packed and biceps full of nerves.

"Shikhar. I told you to wear your shirt when you come out didn't I? Can't I expect you to behave yourself for a day" I heard Shresht speak.

"Whatever senior" he grabbed a shirt from inside the door and walked out again.

"I am hurt that you don't want to see my abs" he spoke making me to grit my teeth.

My breath is still caught in my throat.

"Reeva" Shresht called I moved my head in the direction.

"You can take your hand off" he said and I slowly brought my palm down.

I stood up immediately.

Shresht looked at me confused.

I wanted to tell I can't do this job. Managing the PR process was okay but being the PR manager of One person I just witnessed shirtless was impossible.

"I need to..." I struggled to speak with my dry  throat.

"You got me a nun for an assistant? She is going to be my manager? " Shikhar spoke judging  as his eyes surveyed me from top to bottom.

That was... Straight and Cruel. Yes very cruel.

"She has zero fashion sense Bro and what about my image while she will stay around me in events" he looked at Shresht.

I was offended like never before in my life. Sure I wore formal dresses which were over sized and combed my hair in neat bun and wore minimal jewellery he was nobody to judge me.

"It's sorted thank you" I smiled at him mocking and grabbed my folder.

I wanted to be out of here soon.

My heels clicked against the wooden floor as I reached the lift door.

"Reeva..." I heard Shresht's voice call me.

I had to stop. I had to.

"Shikhar stay in your cabin till I call you. And yes she will be your manager no matter you like it or not. I am intending to get you a manager not a fuck machine" he snapped sharply at his brother.

No....  No.. This is not happening.

Shikhar stormed to his cabin shutting the door loudly unamused.

"I'm sorry" I heard Shresht's voice very near to me and I knew he was just behind me.

"That's fine Mr. Wadhwa. Moreover I don't think I can do the job" I said turning to him.

I guessed the proximity between us wrong. He was more close to me than I calculated which startled me.

"I think that's the first you ever said you cannot do a job" he looked at me intently.

He wasn't wrong.

"Everything has a first time Mr. Wadhwa. I guess this is mine" I stretched my lips forming a thin line.

The defeat sure hurt but the way that half dressed man spoke hurt more.

"Anything I can do to change your mind?" he asked bending a bit.

"Im afraid nothing" I was about to turn.

But the lift door chimed and a bearer brought a tray with two cups of Latte.

Oh god this isn't the right time.

"At least a coffee?" Shresht asked as the bearer left after placing the coffee on the table.

"I'm really in no mood Mr. Wadhwa. So can I just leave?"

It was getting harder to be in the cabin just a glass away from the man who spoke about my fashion.

Shresht guessed it by the way I looked at the door.

"Not here" he played with the back of his neck.

I did not understood. "Come" he said walking towards the table and I don't know what happened to me I did.

He lifted the tray and walked to the room on the left where he was earlier.

I walked inside it behind him. It was kind of a study room with a table smaller than the one outside and the cabinets full of books and files. The table had a small laptop and designer table lamp.

"This is my personal cabin" he placed the tray on the table and signed me to sit on the couch.

I sat and placed the folder on my lap.

He brought the Latte handing me one, he sat beside me.

No wonder my heart beat went skyrocketing suddey.

"I know Shikhar shouldn't have done it. You know he is the top model of our firm and notoriously famous for his hookups."

I felt it uncomfortable to talk all this in that small cabin.

"I wanted someone with whom he can avoid hooking up. That's actually what came in my mind when I saw you" he looked at me.

"Yeah I understand most of the people feel I am unfuckable" I mocked.

"No... That's not what I mean" he protested.

Did he even realize he was just making the situation worse. Damn these two brothers what do they think of themselves.

"Please Mr. Wadhwa. Can we just stop? I will surely look after the company PR processes but about being an ugly unfuckable manager to your brother, you better convince him than me" I placed the cup back on the table and stood up grabbing my folder.

"I'm sorry I wasted it" I pointed at the coffee on the table.

"And thank you. I have signed the contract so I don't think I have a choice not to be the manager of a fashion freak soul less prick I mean model" I smiled at him softly and walked out of the cabin.

He stood up when I was near the door. I am thankful he didn't follow.

When I closed the door behind I saw the younger Wadhwa walking out of his potential cabin.

Without stopping to even react I walked towards the elevator. Surprisingly he stood behind me and when the door opened he jumped in before me.

Rolling my eyes behind my head I walked in.

The silence looked like it will never end. Other than the cling at each floor I could only hear the breathing sounds.

Suddenly I was against the wall. When I turned to look I saw the man who insulted me towering over me.

What the hell?

My swollen tongue failed to form words while his eyes moved all over my face.

After a moment of mindlessness I finally thought of moving but he guessed my move and placed his hand to block.

"What the hell?" I snarled at him.  He still was gazing at my face.

"Get off me" I spoke sternly even though shivering within.

"Look I need to speak" he said now locking my eyes.

His eyes were exactly like his brother's. Dark. Jaws sharp but just bushy unlike his sibling's whose beard completely covered his jaw. Lips neat.

Reeva snap out

I immediately looked up hearing my inner voice.

He smirked. And I just crossed my arms rolling my eyes.

"So this is how you initiate conversation?" my eyes narrowed into slits.

He leaned a bit closer this time so much that his toxic cologne was blocking my nostrils. Lemongrass..... Cedar wood.... Grape fruit...

What the hell is happening to me?  Why isn't he speaking anything or did he already spoke and I didn't realize as I was too caught up in inhaling his fragrance.

"In most cases I don't even need to speak" he gave me his million dollar smoldering look and my head started to spin.

"We... We are in a lift" I looked at the buttons on the lift. I wondered why was there no interruption yet. Is the elevator jammed?

"It's the cliquish lift which opens  only in CEO's cabin. Unless my brother is intimated about the visitor no one can operate it. Only the person in his office can come down without his permission"

Suddenly I noticed his voice was different from his brother. More deep, hoarse and exquisite. Every word he spoke I felt a tingling sensation inside me.

Before I loose my mind completely I have to get out of his dark shadow which was now clogging my vision.

"More like handful for you to shove your throat into  fuckable instant hook ups" I was pleased the way I responded.

But damn he isn't the right person to be at the recieving end. Not when my eyes are just inches away from him.

He chuckled moving his eyes away momentarily and I got time to relax my fast beating heart.

"You are something interesting" his eyes were back in position. And caught my breath when they darkened further.

"How about we discuss your job over lunch?" he asked his eyebrows curving.

"I suppose your brother has mailed me the details and I am good with it" I relaxed more.

"How will he know about my requirements" he looked at my jaws and then in my eyes.

This is going to be strenuous.

"He is probably an expert now to know about your needs because he runs this whole world of fashion and deals with numerous lounge lizards" I smiled mocking.

"Touchè" his  right hand moved to his chest on the left and the fake hurt did not amuse me.

Realizing it was the time I get away from him my back slid to the left.

My good luck that the ground-floor was on the other side of the door and it opened.

Tightening the hold on the folder I was carrying I walked out of the lift and my heels clicked against the marble floor.

I don't know why I was feeling his gaze on my retreating figure and it made my spine shiver when I saw in the glass door in front of me and found his image sizing my curves.

I know he thinks I am ugly and I don't give a damn. I am going to manage his schedule and PR processes not his desires. So fine with me if he thinks I can't be anywhere near to his instant hook ups.

Why do I feel hurt suddenly?

When I felt the hot sun piercing my skin I realized I forgot to book the cab.

I took the cellphone out to book the cab. It was too hot to stand and wait there. So I looked around searching for a place which was a bit shady.

The left hand rested on my forehead so that I can get some relief from the burning sun.

"Tanning?" a voice I recognized came from my left.

"Sort of" I replied without looking at him.

"So you are saying getting Sun stroke is better than having lunch with me?" he asked leaning to me.

"I didn't expect you to be this smart" I cocked my head back a bit looking at him.

His smile morphed into a frown. If my ears were sharp I would have even heard his grunt.

He wore his glasses and walked back to the building he was earlier in.

In some time I saw a Buggati stopping.

"I owe you a ride" Shresht stood out on the driver side.

This man makes my tongue useless sometimes.

"I booked a cab already" I showed him my phone. .

"You can always cancel it" he grinned. I had no idea what will I do around these two stud muffins.

Sitting inside the car he opened the door for me to slide in.

I gave up. Rolling my eyes I adjusted myself inside the luxurious car.

There was silence. Deafening I must add. He was uncomfortably shifting in his place.

"I'm sorry Ree" he began and I was blown away the way he called me the nick name.

He sighed when I didn't respond too much caught up in my own thoughts.

"I think I cleared you that I am not fazed with your opinions" I looked at him.

His muscles bulged and I couldn't help but notice how his hand moved to change the gear.

And the other hand on steering wheel.

"Really. But you did not react the way you spoke" his eyes glancing me once and then back to the road and I saw his lips curving up on the side.

He caught me off guard.

"I did not mean to insult you" he started to speak again when I did not speak.

"It's not my concern what you think Mr. Wadhwa" I interrupted.

"It should be your concern Reeva. And it's Shresht" he corrected me.

"I prefer Mr. Wadhwa" I countered.

"Why?" he glanced at me again taking a turn.

"I like it if it's professional. It's easy to define the boundaries" I looked at the folder in my lap.

"You don't need a facade of professional not to cross the lines"

The air inside suddenly became heavy and he could feel me struggle to breath.

"I hope you have mentioned the points of the extra job also" I changed the topic.

"I will be sending you that as a separate attachment. I wasn't sure if you will agree for this" his voice softened more.

I looked at him confused while he stretched his lips glancing at me.

"You were ready to let go off the condition?" I asked in disbelief.

He nodded slowly.

Why?

"I am sorry for putting you in jeopardy" he apologized.

"That's fine. It doesn't matter now" I looked on the other side.

We were just a street away from my office.

The silence was annoying me for a strange reason. I relaxed when I saw the office building.

As soon as he pulled over the car,  I grabbed the folder and held the knob.

"Thanks" I turned to give him a formal smile and rolled out of the car.

"Reeva"

I turned and found him walking up to me.

"This is your new sim for the job" he handed me a pouch. I nodded my head recieving it.

Without elongating the awkward silence I turned on my heels and he walked to the driver side.

"You are beautiful"
