Three Years Later
"Who looks prettier? Me or Mommy?" Seven-year old Dawn spun gracefully, allowing her lavender silk dress to swirl around her legs. Her long black curls felt like cornsilk, and her face was as pale as the moon. Newt glanced between Dawn and his wife, who was holding their two year old son, Phoenix. He laughed. "I can't decide. You both look splendid!" "When is the wedding gonna start?" Phoenix whined. "Any moment now. Just be patient," Tina said gently, setting him down next to her on the bench. "Mommy's prettier!" Phoenix exclaimed, saying it just for the joy of seeing anger spread across Dawn's face. Newt grabbed her before she had a chance to scratch Phoenix again. (She had once. The scars across his face are still there if you look hard enough.)
Phoenix had soft, caramel curls like Newt with chocolate brown eyes. He loved to annoy Dawn for no other reason than to see Dawn lose her temper, which happened often. "Phoenix, be nice," Tina reminded him, and Dawn stuck her tongue out at Phoenix.
Tina looked up at the alter. The wedding was outside, so the alter was by a cherry blossom tree. Credence stood by Graves, fidgeting nervously. I remember how nervous I was at my wedding, Tina thought with amusement. Everyone stood as the bride emerged with her father.
Caoimhe was beautiful. Not that she hadn't always been, but now, her beauty was crystal clear. She wore a plain white dress, but it sparkled in the sunlight. Her dirty blonde hair was sleek and shiny, flowing down her back like a waterfall. Her eyelashes spread from her blue eyes like the wings of a butterfly, her lips a soft pink. She took Credence's hand, whose nerves seemed to have gone after he saw Caoimhe in her splendor. Tina sat down with the rest, and Graves cleared his throat. "We are gathered here..."

Th dancing was fun. The band played such lively music that no one could resist the temptation to tap their foot to the beat. Credence refused to stop except when someone came to steal Caoimhe away for a dance. Newt just so happened to be one of them.
"So... you're Mrs. Barebone now?" Newt asked. "No. I'm still a Scamander. Credence didn't want to keep his last name, so he changed it to Scamander," Caoimhe replied. Newt spun her, chuckling a little. "What's so funny?" Caoimhe asked with an amused smirk. "I remember when you were born, and now look at you! You've grown into a beautiful young lady, a newlywed." Caoimhe's cheeks turned pink at Newt's praise. "You've grown too. But deep down, you'll still be my older brother."
Newt suddenly stopped dancing. He embraced Caoimhe, remembering how she always hugged him whenever she saw him. "You were the very best little sister an older brother could possibly want," Newt said softly. Caoimhe smiled at him, and he saw Caoimhe's future; Snuggled up by Credence's side on the front porch steps of their house, watching their children play. He kissed her forehead one last time before handing her back over to Credence.
Tina took his hand, and Newt grinned at her. "None of this would have happened if that niffler hadn't gotten loose," Newt said softly. Tina laughed softly, kissing him gently.
All was well.
