He likes trains
MJ hells on fire dear life, not daring to look down. What was wrong with him? Hadn't she told him to stay out of it? But she knew he wouldn't listen. She felt both angry at him, but scared at the same time. She didn't want him to let go, both metaphorically and literally.
"Peter where are you taking me?" My finally asked. She still kept her eyes hidden in his neck, knowing just how high up they really were.
"To a quiet place." Was all prayer said as he continued to swing from one place to another moving swiftly across New York.
"Where's this, 'quiet place'?" She asked again.
"I guess you'll have to wait and see." Peter replied, still holding onto her tightly though she felt she was going to fall at any moment. Peter dropped suddenly and landed on a lamp post. My screamed the whole way down which was about five seconds. She hugged Peter with a death grip in fear. "Wait are you scared?" He pulled her head away from his neck so that he could see her face. She only now realized he some how he's gotten his mask back on.
Her lips trembled in fear and her eyes looked at him with terror. "Can we just... be done for now? I don't like this flying thing." She went back to the way she was before, clamping herself to Peter's chest.
"We'll only be a little longer." He held her protectively to himself. "Are you alright with that?"
"Make it quick." Half screamed half mumbled (a very odd mix) as Peter propelled them back into the air among sky scrapers. Peter continued to carefully take her to the place he had in mind. It was this old run down train station that no longer operated near the north side of town. No one really ever went there, too many pigeons and not enough snacks.
Peter carefully alighted himself onto the roof and set MJ down. The tiles slipped and she began to fall, but he was holding on to her. He tugged off his mask revealing his messy brown hair and tied face.
"Why'd you take me to this dump?" MJ frowned as she looked around at the roof infested with pigeon poop and broken tile.
"Follow me." Was all Peter said. He held her hand to make sure she wouldn't fall off the roof, and walked with her to a large broken part. It was a gaping hole big enough to fit a person in it. Peter let go of her hands and jumped inside onto the rafter below.
"What are you doing?" She has her arms wide to keep balance.
"Come on," he smiled and raised a hand.
"What?! Oh no no no no no! I-I am NOT going on THERE!" She backed up a bit.
"Don't worry I'll catch you, I promise." He still has his hand stretched out for her to take. She bit her bottom lip nervously.
"No we can stay up on the roof, I'm fine. This train station looks super creepy and I don't trust those old boards to hold me up. What if it breaks?!" MJ crossed her arms and closed her eyes.
"Who's to say the roof wouldn't either?" Peter smirked.
"Ok I'll come in... please... um... don't let me fall." MJ opened her eyes again and looked into his chocolate brown ones.
"Why would I let you fall?" He asked/started. "Just, trust me."
She placed her hand in his and hesitantly lowered a foot through the gaping hole. "I trust you." She said and and finally let her self drop inside. Sure enough, Peter caught her.
"See, That wasn't so bad." Peter cooed.
"Whatever, I still hated it." MJ looked down. Which she shouldn't have done! She realized that they were on a rickety old wooden rafter beam about 20 feet above the ground. "Holy bananas!" She jumped into his arms. He didn't lose his balance though, I mean, he's spider man come on!
"Hey hey hey, it's ok. I've got you, don't worry." He places his cheek on the top of her head and hugged her reassuringly.
"Peter, why are we here?" She finally asked, breaking from the hug. Peter held her hands to balance her on the rafter, as he began to lead her to who knows where.
"I think getting away from the city fire a bit will do some good." Peter said. MJ looked behind him and saw a broken window which held a perfect view of New York and Queens.
"Wow, it actually looks pretty from this far away. But then it's actually a dump." MJ started. Peter found a large loft by the window for them to sit.
"MJ, Why do you always do that?" Peter Asked.
"Do what?"
"Do that, you know... you always say something negative about, Well anything!" Peter looked out the window, sitting beside her.
"I just find certain things in history interesting, and those often have murder, torture, death, and so on. I guess that's why I know so much about every place. I bet this train station closed down because some one died." MJ replied.
"Your right, a kid got hit by a train here a couple decades ago and his parents sued the place." Peter glanced down.
"Cool."
"Cool? It's kinda sad." Peter said.
"That's why it's fantastic." MJ smiled.
"Your kinda scary." Peter chuckled.
"You are to but no one is scared of you." MJ looked his shoulder.
"What? How am I scary?" Peter gasped.
"Well think about it. You can stick k to walls, are like super flexible, you have super strength, all these different webs, your name is Spider man, you have radioactive blood, and apparently you can run 200 miles per hour." MJ explained.
"How is that scary?"
"Peter, If you wanted to, you could probably take down New York by yourself. I've seen you smash through buildings like their nothing, and then you get back up again. Imagine in an alternate fine line where your the bad guy..."
"And would vulture be the hero?" Peter began to laugh. "Yeah only in an alternate dimension would that happen."
They continued to make conversation, for what seemed like forever. But neither of them minded. They enjoyed being in the presence of one another. Before they New it, the sun was setting, casting beautiful colorful rays through the broken window.
"Wow, we've been here for a while." MJ looked around herself as if maybe there was a clock.
"Told you, it's a nice quiet place." Peter sighed. "Do you wanna go home?"
"No, not really. Can I sleep over at your house tonight?" She has no idea what she was asking. It sorta just came out. Peter has a strange expression on his face. It was surprise, confusion and love. Wait love? Could he possibly love her back?
The more MJ tried to convince herself Peter must likely did not like her, the more reasons she came up with reasons he did. She realized that she too, was helplessly in love.
"Sure. Just don't tell aunt may. I don't know how she would react to a girl sleeping at our apartment." Peter said and grabbed MJs hands.
My looked at his eyes with question. Now she wanted to know so desperately. Did he actually love her? Maybe he was forcing himself to because of the marks. Did he think of them as friends? Did he want to be... more than friends? Wait, now she was questioning herself. Did she love him? Really really love him? Could she even love? Because up until a week ago she believed herself to be an asexual Aromantic. (Basically doesn't feel romantic or sexual attraction)
She had to ask. But how? Peter has pulled her closer, in order to take her out of the station. He raised an arm to shoot a web and-
"Peter!" MJ pulled away abruptly.
"What?" Peter was slightly surprised but his spider sense had kinda told him she was gonna pull away.
"I'm sorry." She sighed.
"Sorry for what?" Peter wondered. Now he realized what every one meant when they said girls spoke their own language.
"I..." She trailed off.
"Uh huh?" Peter raised an eyebrow.
"Peterdoyouloveme?" She smirked it all together really fast.
"What?" Peter would raise his eyebrow even further had it been possible. Mj took a deep breath.
"Peter, do you love me?" She finally spit out. Peter raised both his eyebrows this time. He was silent as he asked himself the same thing. All their was between them was the sound of their cold breaths in the night air.
"Yes." He broke the silence. "I love you MJ."
