Prompt #2: World Book Day (Shakespearean Sonnet)
Title: Fatherhood Books of Which There Are Many (Does Love Matter: An acrostic)
Dark night, no angry crowd.
Opaque and sallow-eyed, a heart is broken.
Etched in black is the day, love hides behind a shroud.
Sheltered in the shadow, wicked words are spoken.
Loveless phrases, not of God, but malevolence born of the inner devil.
Once a source of love becomes insanity and hope flees.
Vixen's knife is razor sharp and in your pain will revel.
Each breath is a pain, the agony forces you to your knees.
Madness strikes and in your head confused voices chatter.
All you ever wanted was to make your soul mate happy.
The love you shared and your dreams, none of which seem to matter.
This all began because you couldn't wake up and change the baby's nappy.
Even when she cried deep into the night, with sallow opaque eyes.
Really my friend if you felt that way about fatherhood, you should have zipped up your flies.
How very beautiful! Thank you NehpetsEnal for another great submission!
