Iruma's POV

It had been quite a long day at school today. First, grandpa and Opera had me arrive to school in a carriage, then Professor Kalego surprised us with a pop quiz-which I'm 90% sure I failed- and finally we had familiar exercises with Professor Robin.

"I swear I thought he was gonna give me a weeks worth of homework."

Today's familiar training did not go smoothly, as usual, whenever I have to summon Professor Kalego.

The school day had ended, leaving a lot of students to leave school grounds. I normally would be headed home by now but I had battler activities with Azz and Clara. Oh and Schnell.

They were all currently waiting for me in our battler room. I feel kind a bad for making them wait, but even worse for insisting that they stay there.

...

I wanted to go alone some place.

The students leaving the school or hanging around were quite loud and busy. Their was so many things going on, would I even catch her in the crowd?

Oh! There she is!

(L/n) (Y/n).

A first year like me.

"I know, right?" She laughed with their friends.

"She's with her friends again." I smiled through my disappointment.

Oh don't get me wrong! I'm glad she has friends she's happy with! But... it's hard to talk to a girl one on one when they travel in packs.

It's so hard to try and talk to her!

I'm staring, I should g-

She tilted her head in my direction.

'SH-SHE'S LOOKING AT ME!!'

I gasped and ducked my head out of embarrassment.

My crush just caught me staring at them!
"She probably thinks I'm a stalker or something!" I hid my face in my hands. I could practically feel the steam coming from my head.

After a quick second, I braved it out and drifted my head back up. If she's looking at me, I should at least smile at her.

Ba-dump

She's smiling at me.

I smiled back after gathering up my nerves. My hand wavered when I waved at her. My face reddened at my own nervous self. Based on her body language, she giggled.

'I made her laugh!'

I mentally cheered for myself.

I should really get back to Azz and Clara now. Waving a farewell to (Y/n), I made my way back towards the Battler Tower.

The battler room was as loud as ever. Schnell running around, Clara jumping everywhere, Azz trying to get everyone to calm down. 'Don't ever change.'

Its weird how this is all so peaceful to me now.

"Master Iruma, you're back!" Azz ran up to me with a smile.

"Iruma-chi! Want some tea?" Clara jumped.

"Sure." I nodded with a smile.

We all sat around a nearby table, drinking some tea and eating some snacks.

"Yum!" I chewed on the delicious pastries.

"Master Iruma, we recently got a letter." Azz brought up.

"Huh?"

"Yes! A new letter! Look!" Clara held up the already opened letter.

I took the paper from Clara and read the letter over. It's an applicant to join the battler!

"Oh! I wonder who's gonna join-"

(L/n) (Y/n)

"(Y/n)?!" I gasped out louder than I intended.

"Yes? What is it?" A new voice questioned.

Spinning around to the battler door I was met with a pleasant surprise. 'It's her!' I blushed in embarrassment.

"Iruma-chi, why is your ahoge a bouncing heart?"

"Clara!" I cried.
