Ballet 🩰
I just love to dance, to feel the release by dancing. My heart beating in pride and my toes pointed in concentration.
I enjoy the music and feel my body.
But in class... I feel controlled, judged and looked at...by you.
You only point out the times I mess up and when I do good, for some reason you don't catch that.
You adjust my posture, saying to fix it in a kind voice, but I feel it's more of a critique.
When my posture was fine as I stared ahead, paying attention to my body.
I know, I'm sorry for saying rude things about your teaching. But it's true.
I don't feel seen, and when you do point out my beauty in the dance, it's only once, it's when it's the easy stuff and you say that to everybody.
I just love to dance!
Yes, you teach it in a style and the 'right' way.
But sometimes I wish you could disappear, all the people around me, so I could be in the light.
The dark all around except an orb around me, that protects me and keeps me within my truth. It's all I can see.
Safe as I dance!
I don't care if I do it the 'wrong' way.
I'm learning and I'm in my body.
Dancing in general does that for me.
And in Ballet, I could really feel my growth, awareness towards every lengthen of my body, each step.
Truly beautiful the way it works.
And this is how I feel about Dancing in your class (for now).
How I feel in this point where I play the Ballet world.
I have decided to stop worrying about what you think of me or your critiques.
I will just dance.
I will | Not |
I will not let myself go into the world of self doubt.
I will no longer decide to stop enjoying myself just because of one mistake.
I will dance!
I will dance!
For me!
For me!
For me!
