RINGO NEVER thought that he would ever let a criminal into his house. Nevertheless sit with them in a distance closer than what they were doing right now. But here they were, basically touching hip to hip (the couch was a tad bit small), debating on who did the heinous crime to the girl sprawled on the cold floor just a few minutes ago.
"Okay so, maybe he wasn't the killer..."
Paul raised an eyebrow. "Just maybe? Love, he definitely isn't the killer. His sister even said he was at home when Audrey was kidnapped."
"She was just defending him because they were related." Ringo pointed out, a stubborn glint in those droppy eyes of his.
He chuckled. "Skeptical little thing are you, sweetheart?"
The supposedly defiant look on his face melted away, replaced with embarrasment. Paul's eyes widened a bit at the color that rose up the teen's neck.
"Stop that." Ringo muttered, burying his face halfway into the pillow.
"Stop what, doll?"
"That. The nicknames."
He rolled his eyes at him. "Fine, Ritchie. Is that better?"
He didn't answer. Instead, he shifted in his seat, causing their knees to bump against one another.
"Sorry." Ringo blurted.
"It's fine," He replied, doe eyes focusing on the scene that unfolded in front of him.
"You're under arrest!" One of the cops yelled as his protégé pushed the killer's chest against the hood of the car. "You're going to rot in jailcells, you sick fuck!"
Ringo felt Paul stiffen up beside him. And for a second, he sort of felt sorry for the guy.
"Hey," He spoke up, breaking Paul's focus on the television. "How about I'll make you lunch in exchange for information?"
"Sure thing, detective." Paul smirked, making him feel sickenly warm again. "What sort of information?"
"I..." Ringo tried to find the right words without offending the other. "I want to know the real reason why you're doing this."
Expecting him to lash out, Ringo flinched when he felt his hand on his shoulder.
"You wouldn't like it."
"Doesn't mean I'll let go of it," Ringo said, and Paul sighed instead.
"Fine." He gave the younger a look. "But don't tell me I didn't warn you, doll."
