Diana's POV

A warm pair of lips touched my forehead as Luca held me tightly in his arms. My mind still couldn't wrap around the fact that he was gone. Death is a scary thing, and I'm terrified of it happening, but he looked so at peace now.

"Diana, darling, everyone is waiting for you." I gave Luca a small smile and grasped his hand in mine, resting my head on his shoulder.

I stared at the gravestone a little while longer before nodding and sniffling once more. Luca rubbed my back and kissed my tear-stained cheek before wrapping an arm around my tiny figure.

"I can't believe it, I-I owe him my life!" My voice was stuffy as another sob left my lips. Luca pulled me into a tight hug and rested his chin on my head. I felt him suck in a deep breath and speak shakily.

"Shhh, I know. Xavier and I may have not been on good terms but I owe him my life too." My body pulled back from his and I wiped my cheeks, looking at Luca with confusion.

"He did not die for you, it is NOT your fault Luca." He shook his head and water began pouring out of his eyes also. He grabbed my cheeks with both hands and pressed his nose to mine slightly.

"I owe him my life because he gave up his for yours. If I could, I would trade spots with him in a heartbeat-" I pushed myself away from Luca and hit his chest harshly.

"Don't say that! I wouldn't be able to live without you, Luca! Don't ever say that!" Luca gripped his hands around my wrists and watched me drop to the ground, screaming and sobbing in the cemetery in front of everyone.

He fell to the ground with me and just held me as I let it all out again, I heard him start to cry also as he cradled me in his chest. Xavier dying took a toll on me, but if anything happened to Luca, I would have gone insane, my head hurt even thinking about it.

Many arms soon wrapped around us, and I hid my face in Luca's chest as he whispered apologies and 'I love you' in my ear. I wrapped my arms around Luca and climbed on top of him, sitting on his lap.

"Please, for the love of God, don't ever say that again." My voice shivered through the small hiccups.

-2 weeks later-

I knocked on Luca's office door and opened it with caution, not wanting to disturb the meeting that was occurring. Many eyes fell on me as I smiled brightly at everyone, waving politely. Luca unfolded his arms and stood up, making his way to me.

"Hello, my love, did you need something?" His deep voice made my legs all wobbly and breathless. I sucked in a deep breath and exhaled quickly before replying.

"Just wanted to let you know that lunch is ready," I glanced at all the other Alphas and clung onto Luca's torso, resting my cheek onto his chest. "Would you all like something to eat?" Alpha Zander stood up and bowed in respect.

"If only it isn't a problem Luna Queen." I blew a raspberry and nudged my head downstairs. The power was strong as all five other Alphas in the room stood up and made their way to get some food.

Once they left, Luca pushed me against the wall and gave me a quick peck on the lips before smirking as if he was planning something. I scoffed and put a finger under his chin, feeling the rough stubble on his cheek, before finally pulling him into another kiss.

"We need to go downstairs, they are waiting for us," I whispered breathlessly. Luca closed his eyes and opened them showing Jay. I dropped my head a little and sighed.

"They can wait, plus I'm not really hungry..." I squeezed his cheek before patting it and getting out of his grasp. Luca was in control again, and he whined a little as I denied his request. He interlocked our fingers together and we finally made our way to everyone.

"Darling, we need to talk about something." Oh no, that didn't sound good. I nodded politely and sat next to Jade, who held baby Mia. She cooed and gave a toothless smile to anyone she saw. I grabbed her tiny hand and kissed her cheek while Luca sat next to me and rubbed my thigh.

I put my attention back to Luca and hoisted my legs on top of his.

"It's about Theo." He rested his arms on my legs and covered his face in his hands. Worry washed over me and I rubbed his back in comfort.

"What is it, Luca? You know you can tell me." He let out a heavy sigh and put his head in the crook of my neck. I played with his hair, massaging his head.

"Diana, when Theo killed Xavier, he became Alpha King..." My hand stopped, but it was still twisted in his locks. I sat up straight and snuck myself under Luca's arm.

"What? How? I-I thought that Matt would have become Alpha King, this doesn't make any sense!" I screeched.

"When another...male or female Alpha challenges the Alpha of the pack or kills the Alpha, they become dominant and take charge of everything they had owned, including the pack." I turned my head to Alpha Derek watching as he grew out his canines and ate the grilled steak on his plate. Alpha Leo and Alpha Zander sat beside Luca and me, eating quietly.

"Alpha Derek-" I began speaking but Luca cut me off.

"Darling don't be upset, we only just found out this morning as well."

"Wait a minute, so if Theo was to...you know...kill Luca-" I shot Jade a glare and she continued to speak. "Hear me out! If Luca was killed, that would mean...he is going to take charge of this pack also. Including you." Luca roared and clung onto me with his dear life. Wow, thanks, Jade. I wrapped my arms around Luca, hugging him tightly.

"Hey, it's okay. Luca sweetie, that's not going to happen I know it. It was just a thought." He kissed my mark harshly, sneering out his next words.

"You're freaking right it's not." Alpha Zander cleared his throat in an awkward situation.

"Alpha King, we need to talk about this situation! If anything does happen to you, Theo can easily claim Luna Queen." In the corner of my eye, Jade and Alpha Derek nodded in agreement. I felt her tap my shoulder and I turned my head towards her. She held out the baby for me.

"Can you hold her for just a sec? I'm just going to go use the restroom and then grab something to eat." Of course, I agreed and tried getting out of Luca's grasp.

"Luca, I need to hold Mia." His grip tightened and he shook his head. He raised his head and rested his chin on my shoulder, this allowed me to free my arms, enough to hold Mia. My arms soon felt a sudden weight on them as Mia's tiny figure moved and shifted in them.

We soon went back to the argument we were having, things get heated quickly.

"We need to go to war." I shook my head quickly and bobbed Mia a little, to prevent her from crying.

"We have just recovered from the last one! It was not only a month ago. Our pack cannot go through that again." I spoke sternly. Mia began to whimper and kick in my arms. I stood up with force, getting out of Luca's warm arms.

I started to walk around the living room, humming a lullaby.

"She's right. We need to find another way." Alpha Zander came up with another idea, one that I did not like at all. Mia started to quiet down once again.

"We could just go and talk to him. Maybe, make peace with him. Alpha King, he is your brother, you guys could probably make some sort of treaty or something." I scoffed and took a seat on Luca's lap, giving Alpha Zander a glare.

"Absolutely not!" Luca scooted me closer to himself so my back was touching his hard chest, arms undermine. He pecked my neck before speaking.

"It doesn't sound like a bad idea. Blake and I will go down there and we can speak to him. I'll bring pack warriors and have them surround the pack about a mile off. If anything bad happens we can always attack." Luca rubbed Mia's little cheek, whispering things to her as I slung one arm around his shoulder.

"That was literally the dumbest thing you've said. I'm not just going to wait around here while you go and get yourself killed. If anything, war sounded like a much better idea." He sighed at my worried emotions, thinking of a way to convince me.

Alpha Derek left without a word, taking his empty plate with him.

"I can go with him Luna Queen. If we don't take any action, things can go wrong very quickly." Alpha Zander gazed at Mia, shaking his head a little.

"I watched the Mason brothers grow up for as long as I can remember. When their father was Alpha King, he did everything in his will to keep his wife safe, his family safe. When Theo left and Alpha King Mason had passed away, that pain and sadness were not only on the Woods pack but the packs that surrounded them. It took years for everyone to finally be joyous again, all because of your mate. He brought that happiness again." I was confused with his story but stayed quiet for a moment, letting it sink in.

"What do you mean?" I questioned. Luca's finger grazed my chin, making me look down at him, he had become blurry as my eyes started to water. I sniffed loudly and watched as his thumb wiped away the tear that dared to fall.

I moved as close as I could to him, cuddling Mia to my chest.

"Baby, what he means is, you have to trust me. I will do everything I can to keep you safe, to keep your group safe, to keep this pack safe. Theo wasn't always like this, maybe there is still a part of him that is still good. We just have to find it." Mia started to gargle and make noises as she sucked onto her hand like a leech. Luca chuckled and tickled her petite body.

"See? She agrees with me. Plus, what kind of Uncle would I be if I couldn't keep her safe?" I giggled through my worry and fear, finally agreeing. Jade came shuffling back into the living room with Hayden and Daniel.

She hovered over me, grabbing her baby and taking a seat back in her previous spot. My arms immediately held onto Luca for his dear life and I pecked his lips multiple times.

"Ew guys, no PDA when I'm around." I rolled my eyes at Daniel's statement flipping him off.

"Diana!" Hayden scolded. Luca's grip tightened on me trying not to rip both of their heads. I saw Hayden shake his head at Luca's jealousy and Daniel's attitude.

I shrugged my shoulders and ignored both of them. I decided to make both of them mad. My eyes were on Luca and soon my lips were on his neck, making their way up to his jaw. His eyes closed in pleasure and he bit his lip to stop a moan from slipping out. I stopped at his lips and bit his bottom one, before letting it go.

"Okay! I'm out! Hayden, you're on your own, tell her by yourself cause I can't watch them. It's just too weird." I howled in fits of laughter and Luca purred at my touch, wanting more. Alpha Leo finally spoke after thirty minutes,

"Okay, Alpha King, Luna Queen. Kate seems to need me back home, please keep us in contact about the plan. I will join you if you need me." We all said our goodbye's to Alpha Leo as he left. Alpha Zander was next.

"Hey, Diana?" I turned my head to Hayden, giving him my full attention.

"The group and I are leaving. Thank you so much for everything and all that you have done, but it's time for us to head back." My mouth gaped open in shock and I stared at him blankly.

"What?"

A loud crunch made me shift my eyes to the right, seeing Alpha Derek eating chips. He stopped chewing and swallowed hard.

"Was I not supposed to hear that?"
