Celena was running, she had to get out of here. She couldn't bear the thought of being in this place any longer, in a kingdom where she was entrapped, ensnared.
All she had ever wanted was to be free but her father did not view her as a person. He only viewed her as an almighty princess, a descendent perhaps, everything she could never be.
From a very young age, people have always expected great things from Celena. She is what you could call, a prodigy.
She is amazing at swordsman ship, riding a horse and many others but her heart lies with one, archery. Just like Artemis, she is one of the best hunters there is. Hitting marks with every shot, never missing even once.
Not only that, she is beautiful like Aphrodite, and Loyal like the Hunters of Artemis. Many women envy her, they want to be her.
"It has to be here somewhere"
Celena dug through the dirt as she tried to find something that once belonged to her mother.
Something precious, that her mother bestowed to her before her passing. Celena's mother was no ordinary woman. She was very smart, nimble and resourceful.
She was the person who helped Daedalus in making the Labyrinth. She was his most prized pupil, able to make any contraption work.
"Where is it?!"
Celena dug and dug her way through the dirt, not caring that her gown was covered in grime. As she was starting to get frustrated, she finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel,
"Finally!" She wiped the sweat off her forehead. She held the pair of white angelic wings in her arms dearly, the last contraption her mother made before her eternal rest.
She looked to the sky full of stars as she smiled a tear fell down her face, "Thanks Mom"
She wiped the tear off her face and started sprinting to the towers, determination and adrenaline running through her veins as she thought of her freedom.
When she reached the towers, she wasted no time in bounding up the stairs. She ran with all the power her feet could muster, she wanted freedom. And that is was she's going to get one way or the other.
"Oof"
Celena tripped over her long gown that she had been wearing, she glared daggers at the accursed gown. Nothing was going to stop her, especially a measly gown.
She then proceeded to tear the gown until it only reached her knees, and when she felt it was enough. She started her mad dash again.
As she saw the familiar door, she gained more speed and bounded out the door, her supplies were already there as she had put them there from before.
She could feel the wind blowing through her hair as she quickly strapped the wings on to her small back.
You see, her mother knew of Celena's suffering, it was the reason she made the wings, to one day, give her daughter the freedom she deserved.
The wings, once strapped on, will attach themselves on to the person wearing them making them permanent and a part of the host.
And that was what they did. They attached themselves into Celena's back, becoming part of her body. She felt the difference, she tried shifting her body and weight from one foot to the other then she tried to flutter her wings and felt her whole body react in ways she has never experienced.
Celena walked to the edge of the tower with her supplies, she looked down and felt her skin tingle. The sun was starting to make its presence known. The ray of lights started peaking from beyond the Horizon.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. It was Now or Never. She has worked too hard for this to go to waste.
And with that, she jumped
