It had been two weeks since Esmeralda left me at the shelter. I was starting to get lonely after a while. I missed her so much! I couldn't help but wonder how she was doing, was she warm enough at nights? IS she being feed more? My mind swam with questions that would never be answered. The workers here were kind to me, it was the customers that worried me though. 

             They all would look at me with disgust and say things that hurt me. Mutt. Ugly beast. Stupid dog. Brainless animal. Horrible Pit bull getting ready to attack. Each name, each sentence, they all sent knives through my heart. I heard footsteps make their way towards me and I stood up in my cage. 

              The same woman who took me away from my Esmeralda unlocked my cage with a sad expression. "Okay girl, I'm sorry that we have to do this. Space is getting really tight here and we won't have enough room pretty soon. I'm sorry girl, I hope you lived a good life." She whispered as she brought me out of my cage and lead me towards the metal door.

                Panic coursed through me as I saw a table with needles on it. A trash bag was laid against the table as well, a larger table was next to the smaller one and I jumped onto it. The woman gave me a tearful smile as she laid me down and waited for two men who came in a few minutes later. I gave a small whine as I tried to lick the woman's hand and nuzzle her, but the men hurried her out of the room. 

                 I looked at the door confused and waited for her to come back in. when she never did I began to whimper. I felt one of the men hold me down and I began to squirm. The other man picked up a needle and poked it through a bottle. My eyes widened as I struggled some more and wiggled out of the man's hold. A string of curses came out of his mouth as he scrambled after me. 

                  I jumped off of the table and ran around the room in a panic. The men scrambled after me, knocking over many trays in the process. The door opened and I ran out of the room as fast as I could. I ran towards the door and watched as it opened as a customer came in. I scurried out of the shop.
