Cross

Killer's POV

The morning... morning was awful... everything hurt... my head... my nether regions... my body... but I still got up.

"Hey..." Nightmare greeted me with a soft voice, I knew he was worried about what happened last night, I still wouldn't say. He walked over.

"I have that tour to give today. I don't look like garbage do I?" I asked avoiding the conversation I knew Nightmare wanted to have.

"You look worse. How about you stay here with me today, they can get someone else to tour that newbie." Nightmare said as he sat beside me.

"Thanks but no... I volunteered." If events went down differently last night... I might have taken his offer...

"Fine... I'm making you breakfast." Nightmare sighed. He grabbed my hand hesitantly gave it a squeeze.

"Okay sounds like a plan." I hummed giving a light squeeze back.

"I'll reapply those bandages after you get out of the shower." Nightmare released my hand hand helped me to my feet.

I looked at him and Nightmare seemed to concerned now...

I should be happy someone loves me... but... I'm not... is something wrong with me? Well despite what I know to be true already.

I felt something leak from my eyes. And Nightmare jolted and wiped it away.

"Killer... what's bothering you?" Nightmare's voice pleaded to know the answer.

"Nothing Nighty..." I shook my head.

"Killer... that's not true... tell me." Nightmare picked up both of my hands and held them.

"I know you're upset, I want to fix it." Nightmare squeezed them.

"Nighty... you okay? You never showed this much concern for me." I tried to sidetrack him.

"Killer I am fine! I'm just worried for you!" Nightmare pulled me in and hugged me. "Tell me what's wrong I'll take care of it."

"I can't... I have work Nighty." I squirmed, he sighed and released.

"Fine..." Nightmare stood and walked to the kitchen.

I moved to the shower.

Nightmare wasn't pleased... and I'm pretty sure he would just be more upset if I told him. Right? I don't know...

I don't know what's wrong with me. I should be happy! But I'm not... Gahh!!this is just frustrating!!

Nightmare didn't say goodbye to me... so I must have upset him... damn I'm such a screw up!

I held my sweet coffee and walked up to my place of work. And there he waited.

He was tall... taller than me for sure, but not taller than Nightmare, Nightmare is a beanstalk! I stretched a smile on my face.

"Good morning! I'm Killer! I'll be showing you around!" I said as enthusiastically as possible.

I didn't notice until I was close enough, but he had two different colored eyes on two different eye types. I smiled slightly at that.

I noticed he didn't say much until I got closer.

"Cross, I'm Cross, nice to meet you Killer." He smiled at me.

"Alright shall we begin?" I asked and he gave a nod.

This was actually... a lot more... boring than I expected. Especially when everyone being gone for the day and tomorrow... it was the weekend anyway.

"What's your department?" Cross questioned me when we finished.

"Oh, I work the testing stations." I answered, my happy facade dying off slowly.

"So you're the critic~" I paused at his tone.

"Yes?" I turned around.

"So that means you'll be testing some of my games out." Cross jumped to my side. I flinched at first, it didn't go unnoticed, but he played it off as if nothing happened.

"I-I suppose so." I shriveled, his hand had landed on a wound. Cross frowned and pulled his hand back.

"Did I do something wrong?" He seemed... guilty, but for what?

"No! No! Your hand just touched one of my scrapes!" I shook my head, Cross relaxed immensely relieved.

"So if I could ask, what happened to you? You're all cut up and stuff. Are you a illegal fighter?" Cross moved in front of me with a smile.

"Oh stars no! Far from it!" I chuckled. "I got these tripping over the curb to my apartment last night."

"Aha! That's only what an illegal fighter would say!" Cross continued to joke.

"I assure you there are no fighting skills in this skeleton. I promise." I snickered.

"Sure there isn't." Cross smiled at me. "Since I'm new in town, mind showing me a place to eat. If you're free."

"Sure. I'd be happy to." I put another smile on my face. Cross put a hand on my head.

"Lead the way"

Maybe he could see my confusion, or my sadness. But Cross decided that today, he would give me a tour of my town.

I, of course let him try his best, he got next to nothing correct, but I let him go on. It was a fun distraction and he managed to keep a real smile on my face.

"You see that big tall ice burg?"

"Skyscraper, and yes." I held onto his arm as he waving it around.

"That is the Paper's Burg news crew, the Crew that rival's Mettaton's Emporium Of News." Cross made some pretty interesting and far fetched tales that made me snort.

The skyscraper was far from what Cross made it be, but I played along, I felt like I was in one of these stories and at the end I practically was.

"Now we are back to the beginning, where the mysterious, handsome, genius—"

"You mean weirdo."

"—drops the fighter at his works, this is where I must depart my friend! Farewell~" He said in a wavy voice.

"See you Tuesday, Cross. Thank you." I nodded at him.

"You are welcome fair Man-ady!" Cross made up a a word... he seemed to do that a lot.

"Bye." I waved as I headed back home, with images of knights, horses, flying pigs, and dragons dancing in my head.

Back home where Nightmare was shoving macaroni n' cheese in his mouth as he watched... some action movie.

He turned to me when the door opened and I patiently smiled at him as he set his things down.

"You need anything?" Nightmare asked watching him play with his thumb.

"Some sleep, but I'll spare some time if you want to flip that to tv. Maybe we can watch that TV show with the... duck?" I offered, he obliged to my demands.

"Monkey, but close enough." Nightmare smiled.

I giggled, "I wasn't even remotely right!"

"Eh, Duck monkey they're close enough." He cracked another smile as I sat beside him.

"No... so what was it called? Rainbow Academy?" I tried.

"Now that's mean, Umbrella Academy." Nightmare corrected.

I laughed "What I was close! Closer than monkey and duck!"

"I guess." Nightmare put his arm around me and pulled me closer. Is sighed happy to be off my feet.

"My feet are so sore... we did so much walking." I complained softly.

"I'm not touching your feet." Nightmare made a face.

"Wasn't expecting you to." I hummed. "I hoped, but I didn't expecting you to."

"Good" Nightmare flipped through the channels searching for that show as I leaned against him. Starting to doze off.

Today was an okay day.

A/N: Killer doesn't sound like a whore does he? I hope not.
