Loved By The Devil

He forced his lips onto mine, roughly causing me to lose my breath. I screamed and cried, so much that my tears seemed to dry out and I was left with swollen eyes. He continued to trace kisses down my neck, his lips lingering on my lips, cheeks and forehead.

"Please stop!" I cried out. "Why are you doing this to me?"

I tried to struggle, but he was much too solid. He had me pinned to the ground, and I couldn't move at all. My heart was pulsating inside my chest. A painful and numb feeling coursed through my body as his lips met with mine once more.

I couldn't speak. I was scared. I panted heavily as he sat up on top of me, grasping my neck with his large hands. "Do you love me yet?" He smirked, his eyes piercingly dark.

I was struggling to breathe. His form sitting on top of me, crushed my figure as I lay helpless in utter fear. His fingers were still gripped around my neck, making it difficult for me to intake oxygen.

"Answer me," he growled. His grip around me tightened.

I struggled to get the words out, choking at my attempt. My vision was blurred, either from my lack of oxygen or my teary eyes. Even so, one thing was clear, he was enjoying this. His eyes were cloudy with arrogance and control. His smile, a smirk.

I gasped for air, coughing and wheezing but the edges of my sight were already showing spots of black and grey. They got darker, bigger, until I passed out.

"Hey, wake up!" His harsh voice echoed, followed by a cold and sharp pang of tingles against my cheek. Pain.

My eyes opened, alerted and the sight of his face glowering down on mine sent me into a frenzy of panic. I was still on the cold, hard floor of the dark storage room.

"No, no, no, no, no!" I screamed, as he towered over me with a glint in his dark eyes.

"Stop panicking!" He yelled moving back about a meter and covering his ears. It was then I clearly saw his figure--his features--clearly for the first time. Well-built, strong and dark. Dark hair. Dark eyes. He was handsome in a way I couldn't deny. And when he returned to fiercely staring at me, I shivered.

"Do you love me yet?" He asked again, his eyes softening for only a brief moment.

I calmed down and replied with silence. The annoyance showed visibly on his face. He stepped closer to me, slowly and painfully. I was on the floor, finding no energy to be able to get up and run. I could only brace myself as my fear grew more painful and intense with his every step.

When he was only inches away from me, he asked again, "Do you love me yet?"

I tried to open my mouth to speak but everything happened too fast.

One moment, he was piercing through me with his furious eyes. The next, his body was covering mine. His arms formed a solid barrier around my body and his figure shadowed over me. I flinched in fear, bracing myself with my eyes closed. It felt like forever. I waited but there was no impact. Suddenly, the coldness disappeared and it felt warm. Too warm. I opened my eyes expecting to see the scary eyes of an arrogant expression but instead I saw agony.

"Shit..." He groaned, as his hands, which were against the wall, slid downwards with his arms still enclosed around me.

I couldn't see what was happening for it was much too dark. He was intimidatingly, surrounding my body like a lioness protective of her cubs. I looked downwards, not wanting to face what I thought was coming.

I jumped when I felt his cold hands on my face. It stung a little from earlier. I winced, thinking he was going to hurt me again. I heard him groan softly. His tone, shivering. He was shaking. And I was petrified. I dared not to look up at him. My hands were unsteady as I covered my eyes.

My heart almost stopped when I felt his heavy weight on me once again. I held my breath, fearing what was going to come next. Tears rolled down my cheeks for what felt like an eternity.

Nothing happened, but the weight remained. It felt cold again. I forced my eyes to open.

He was lying on top of me. His face was warm. His strong figure was limp, its full weight rested on my own body which felt small compared to his.

I whined, hoping he would get up and yell at me again. No luck. I tried to move, but he reacted faster as his hands rose to grip my neck, harshly.

"Don't you dare move," he hissed. I froze. He was panting heavily and that made me afraid. Was he angry? Was he going to hit me?

Again, there was nothing. I wriggled in attempt to get out of his clasp.

"I-I told y-you not to move," He stuttered. My eyes grew wide. He winced when I struggled. He was shaking, immensly obvious now.

There were cardboard boxes around me, it gave me courage when I thought more clearly, observing my surroundings. I slid my free hand under his arm surrounding me and swiped the boxes.

They tumble down on top of his as I scrambled free. I ran without turning back, when I heard him cry out. "Dammit!"

I thought he would easily catch up to me, as I ran out of the humid storage room into an equally shady corridor. I didn't know where to go as I panicked to decide which direction would get me out of here.

I ran as fast as I could, my eyes began adjusting to the dark. My body and legs felt bruised, possibly from his weight crushing me. I heard noises behind me, adrenaline seeped through my body.

He was coming. I ran for what felt like a never ending chase but all the doors look similar. Behind me I could hear fast-paced movements. He was getting close.

I turned to look back but regretted it when I did. I crashed into a solid surface.

"No!" I screamed when I saw it was him. He immediately covered my mouth and held my wrists to prevent me from struggling. I sobbed, tears running down my face along with sweat. He dragged me into another room. It looked identical to the one I had escaped from.

When the door shut, his weight fell onto me. I dropped to my knees, still with fear. His breathing was heavy, ragged even. I squirmed, flinching when I thought he would shout at me. He didn't. When I managed to slither out from beneath him, I didn't feel him hold me back.

His body collapse lifeless onto the floor and that was when I saw. His torso was covered in scarlet. Blood. He laid faced down, an army knife peering from his right side. He had been stabbed.

It struck me. When he woke me up and covered me, he was protecting me from whoever stabbed him. When I ran out into the corridor, the footsteps I heard behind me weren't his.

His shirt was torn from the back, and for once, he looked harmless. I cried, afraid.

This time, I was not afraid of him, who was inhaling and exhaling heavily. I was afraid of the one that had hurt him.

"S-stop crying!" He croaked. His hand lifted and I thought he was coming to me. I scurried away from him. He glared at me as his hand moved to pull the knife out. He flung the knife, hitting the wall with a loud thud.

I hauled himself closer to me, his glare as intense as ever. I was backed up against the wall, but this time he wasn't hurting me. I wasn't trying to hide from it this time. I watched him.

He lifted his hand, looking like it took extraordinary effort and pressed it against my cheek. It was cold.

"D-do you love m-me?" He stuttered, his eyes were now only half open. He withdrew his hands from me, slipping as he held himself up. He breathed out sharply. "T-t-tell me."

He clenched his fists, but it was no use. He dropped to the floor, turning so he was on his back. I felt a sharp strike around my chest. It was pulsating; painful to see him like this. Was I worried about him? I was scared but I wasn't afraid of him. I was more afraid of something else.

I flattened the cardboard boxes that were scattered around the room, dragging him on top of them. It made a large trail of deep red. His face had gone pale. His hands were weak, different from the strong ones that held me. The color drained from his lips. I traced them with my fingers, remembering the sensation of themw on my own. It made my heart hurt but and my heart sped. This time, not from fear.

I pressed my lips to his, they were different from before. They were no longer rough and warm, he was cold and gentle.

I ripped off his blood strained dress shirt. What was originally white was now a scary color.

He had more scars than that wound. His shoulders were bleeding with cuts and his upper torso was bruised. I traced my fingers over the contours of his body. There was a suffocating feeling deep within my stomach. I used my handkerchief to wipe the blood of his body, my t-shirt stained with his blood. I wrapped the cloth around his torso. My tears fell onto his body. His breathing was getting softer and softer. I realized then, that I was really afraid. Without him, I was alone.

I grabbed his cold hands and held it to my face. I felt myself wanting him to hurt me again, to hold me again. At least, that way I knew he was okay. It was cold.

I curled up beside him and found my eyes wanting to close.

I woke up with something cold on my face. I felt his hands moving, his fingers brushing my cheeks. When I opened my eyes, he drew back.

"What did you do to me?" He asked, weakly.

"Nothing." I answered, confidently sitting up.

He scrunched his face when he tried to move. I watched his movements, wondering how I was afraid of him. Curious, I climbed on top of him, careful to avoid his wound. I laid on top of him, my ears against his chest. I could hear his heartbeat a strong and steady pace. I tried to lift his head to see what I was doing, but when he did, he flinched in pain. I held him down, feeling content.

"W-what are you doing to me?" He stuttered. I continued to listen to his heartbeat.

Thump......

Thump......

Thump...

Thump...thump

Thump...thump...thump...

Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.

"What are you doing to me!!" He screeched. His heartbeat raced. "Stop!!"

I leaned over and kissed his chest, trailing downwards.

Thumpthumpthumpthump.

"S-stop it!!" He cried. "I get it! I get it! You hate me, so please," He winced. "Stop it!"

He shut his eyes. I watched him, my lips curling upwards.

"It hurts." He sniffled. He clenched his eyes shut and moved his hands to cover his face.

"What did you do to me?" He whispered. "It hurts."

I lifted his hands from his face, holding them up as I sat up. His eyes were still tightly shut but his cheeks were wet. He was crying.

"Please. I get it." He croaked, opening his eyes.

His eyes looked empty, like he was staring right through me. His hands that I held were trembling. This was the guy I was so scared of?

"You don't," He gulped. "Love me."

I watched his eyes close once again as more tears streamed down his cheeks. I bent down and pushed my lips onto his. His eyes shot open. He went stiff for a while before he pushed me, flipping me over so he was on top of me now. He clutched my neck, holding himself up with his other arm. He was shaking.

"W-what are you doing to me!?" He clenched his fists tighter around my neck. I choked, gasping for air. His eyes were alert, and he was panting heavily as he gritted his teeth.

He got on his knees, still holding me down. "What are you doing?" He asked looking pained as he clenched his chest. "It hurts here."

I smiled at him, causing his hands to drop and his grip to release. "Are you doing this because you hate me that much?" He stared blankly at my face, his lips parted. "You're making it hurt aren't you." He swallowed and twitched as if he felt a sharp pang of pain.

"I'm loving you," I spoke softly, smiling at him.

He looked at me, all expression on his face gone. He looked gentle when he wasn't scowling. Staggering as stood up, he limped away from me. I watched him as he rammed himself against the wall and cried in pain. I got up and rushed over to him.

"What are you doing?" I yelled as he repeated it over and over.

"I-I deserve to die." He spoke harshly as tears slid down his face so that even he was surprised by them. He charged against the wall again, but this time I got between him and the wall just in time.

He crashed into me and I was bulldozed against the wall, the impact shocked me as I fell to the ground. "No, no, no!" He yelled as he crouched down beside me. I could see he was trembling abnormally.

I knew I was bleeding. "You're not supposed to die." He lifted me up. "You can't die!" He put me on top of the cardboard boxes, panicking. He wrapped his arms around me close enough to protect me yet not touching me.

"What do I do?" He panicked. "What do I do?"

"Take care of yourself." I said, weakly forcing the words out.

"You can't love me! Stop now! Stop!" He shouted.

"Why not?" I asked.

"I'm evil," He whimpered. "If you love me you'll become evil too."

"You're not evil." I lifted my hand to pat his head.

"I am," He looked away. "I was sent to Earth to hurt you. If I made you love me, I could hurt you easily."

"No, you can't." I stroked his cheek. He winced.

"I don't want to but I will." He placed his head in his hands. "Those people thay stabbed me were the good guys, they were trying to save you from me."

"What if I don't want to be saved?" I cried too.

"Then you'll get hurt like I did." He was trembling so much. I grabbed his hand tightly. "I can't let you get hurt anymore." He whispered.

"I'm not going anywhere." I said confidently.

"Then I will have to die or leave you myself." He let go of my hand.

"But that will hurt me more." I spoke up.

"Then what do you want me to do?" He cried. "Staying with you is like me killing you." Tears filled his eyes as he clenched his teeth.

"Then let me die." I said.

"No, no, no!" He shouted as he grabbed the knife he had taken out of his body earlier and held it to his own neck.

I cried, looking straight at him. When his eyes locked with mine, he dropped the knife and ran over, embracing me. "This is my punishment." He spoke softly.

He was about to release me but I grabbed onto his arm. He sighed. "You should get some sleep." He smiled at me, genuinely. It made me want to listen to him. I gripped onto his body and leaned against him, falling asleep. I chuckled as he got all stiff.

He watched her as she slept. So pure. So beautiful. He loved her. They both knew it.

He was scared. Afraid of hurting her. It hurt to think about her because he was scared. He was scared of her leaving him. But he was more scared about her dying because she was with him.

He fell asleep hoping he would forget everything when he returned to his world.

☆★☆★☆

A sweet smell infiltrated her senses. It felt secure and made her desire to find the source. She got up. She was surrounded by a clear whiteness that resemble fog. She continued walking.

★☆★☆★

He woke up at the sound of silence. He could feel something was off. He looked towards her figure which laid still, too stiff. What he feared had begun. She was dying. He knew it too well. He was a devil, and she was human. If he stayed next to her, her life would be drained. Especially since she loved him.

He clenched the army knife that was in his hand and brought it to his heart. He kisses her for the last time, on her forehead. With one swift movement the blade buried into his chest and his vision darkened.

"Back already?" A majestic voice boomed.

"Yes, sir." He replied.

"As expected of my son."

"I failed, sir." He spoke.

"Failed?"

"Yes, sir." He swallowed.

"How?"

"She was too good, she didn't love me." He lied.

"Didn't love you?"

"She was too good to be punished by the devils, sir." He continued.

"Is that so?"

"Yes, sir." He clenched his fists.

"Do you by chance love her?"

"No, sir." He lied. "I only acted like I did for the mission."

"You're lying. As a punishment, I will erase her memories of you."

"I understand, sir." He knew it would hurt him but if she forgot him, she wouldn't be hurt.

"Is that all?"

"Sir, please give her protection from the other devils." He begged.

"Why?"

"She is too good to be punished by us. In return, I will give up my ability and rank as a devil." He continued.

"Fine."

"Thank you, sir." He smiled.

"You are relieved of your duties

As punishment, her memories of you will be erased and you shall be the one to watchover her. However, she will not be able to see you or hear you."

"I understand, sir." He smiled sadly.

★☆★☆★

He watched as a cheerful looking guy walked up to her and embraced her. He scowled, wanting so badly to punch him; to kill him.

It hurt to see her with another being, but it made him so happy to see she wasn't in pain. Tears brimed his eyes. He wanted so badly to hold her - but she was human, and he was not. She couldn't see him. He couldn't feel her. Everyday, he followed her. He watched her. He loved her.

He knew he was being punished - for ever hurting her in the first place. He thought about when he first met her, how he had treated her. Her crying face when she was scared of him. It brought an intesifying pain to him each time he thought about it.

☆★☆★☆

I felt incomplete. I felt something was missing. The past few weeks seemed to have been a blur, as if it was missing.

Often in my dreams, I saw a tall, dark and handsom guy. He had loved me and I had loved him. It had always felt so real that there were some days where I didn't want to wake up. I wanted to sleep forever. To be with him forever.
