Chapter Ten

Somehow, both Connor and I forgot that me staying over meant me having breakfast while I was there.

And we both did not dress for breakfast.

So I was in his oversized shirt and baggy sweatpants, and he was still rocking his pajamas.

Mark, Todd and Richard really didn't know what to say when we sat for breakfast.

"Oh yeah, Elly is in town again and she texted me this morning saying we need to meet up, you included," I informed Connor.

"She won't cuss me out?"

"She might," I admitted. "But she probably won't be nearly as threatening as last time."

Connor nodded, agreeing.

"I see you feel better Connor," Mark said suddenly.

He glanced over at Mark, shrugging, "Guess it wasn't long lasting."

And then both Connor and I ignored the others as we ate, talking about video games.

"We should take a shower before we head out," I suggested.

"Probably. Hope you don't mind that my shampoo is cherry."

I snorted as the two of us got up to leave, "I thought peaches were better?"

Connor ruffled my hair and we left the room.

I think the others were getting more and more curious about the hell we were doing.

After we showered, we got dressed, me borrowing some old clothes of his that fit me, we started heading out.

"Since when are you two so close?" Mark asked, appearing from nowhere.

Connor, seemingly done, rolled his eyes, "since we started dating asshole."

"Before that too, but yeah," I confirmed.

Mark's annoyed expression turned to shock. "Since when are you two dating?"

"Since three months ago? Get with the program," I said, annoyance in my tone. Todd and Richard came to see the problem and I decided to be a dick to them.

"Like I said, Connor is my boyfriend , deal with it." I pulled Connor into a kiss, and he happily kissed back. It was a brief one, but still startled the three men.

Connor snicker as I pulled away, "you're a dork."

"So are you!"

Again, the three didn't know what to even say to that. What could they say.

Well, Richard tried, "what inspired you to forgive Connor but not us?"

I glanced at Connor, silently asking him permission to talk about it, but he spoke first.

"I apologized."

"Dramatically. You apologized dramatically and everyone knows you're gay. Well, everyone who was in that room."

Connor flushed a little, "yeah, it wasn't my smartest idea.

"What do you mean, everyone?"

"Well, my family, obviously. A few CEO's and a couple coworkers. And an interviewer who swore not to say anything. So I'd say about fifty people."

"What did you do?" Richard pressed.

I giggled, smiling, "he burst in with flowers and declared his love for me while apologizing. He didn't expect us to date, just wanted to be honest."

Connor smiled happily, lacing our hands together, "he called me an idiot to my face and forgave me."

"Then how did you start dating?" Mark prodded, confused.

"We just hung out and felt like we should try. So, we tried and we're pretty happy," I explained.

Connor decided to brag a bit, "I love him and he loves me, so there should be no problem."

"Obviously I love you. Anyway, we have to go before my sister throws a fit."

We head out, leaving the three men confused.

And we forgot about them, and met up with my sister.

Elly was at the usual Starbucks, drinking tea. Connor went to grab us drinks as I walked over.

"Hey sis, what's up?"

She looked at me and then glanced at the counter, seeing Connor, "you popped his cherry?"

"Elly!" I whisper yelled.

She smirked, "good for you. Did he pop yours?"

"Oh my god, why are you like this?"

"So the answer is yes." She chuckled as she got up, Connor returning with our drinks. A tea for me, and a very complicated coffee for him.

Dumbass.

"Well, so far, Connor seems like a good boyfriend for you. Better than any of the others would be I'm sure."

"God, could you imagine?" I snorted, rolling my eyes.

"Well, Todd and Mark are together, so they obviously tolerate each other," Connor mentions offhandedly as he starts to walk out.

My sister and I quickly follow him out, and she decided to prod, "um, what? They're dating? And they were hitting on Tim?"

"They were the ones who wanted an open relationship. Theirs is already pretty open. It's just that they are the main pairing? You know. When everyone was fight for Tim, they tried to convince me that it would basically just be me and Tim, and they'd sometimes join in."

"They're gross," I muttered.

"Thinking back on it? Yeah," he agreed. "I was just really into you and I was happy to get anything."

Elly sighed, "well, glad you care about Tim."

"I do! I really love him."

She smiled at that and we spent hours together before she headed off and Connor and I went to my place.

My family was more suspicious of Connor now that they knew we were dating, and was definitely going to grill him about it, but something stopped them.

I didn't know what it was. We had walked in, talking about video games, hands laced together.

And for some reason they calmed.

"Tim, you nose is turning red."

"It's because it's getting cold. Annoying," I complained.

My father sighed, small smile on his face. "Connor, why don't you join us for dinner tonight?"

"Oh! Uh, sure."

At that, my father nodded, "it will be ready in about ten minutes, so be in the dining room by then."

The both of us nodded and went to drop our things off at my room. And we returned to the dinning y'all to join my family, my younger siblings were out of town, so it was my parents and my eldest brother John.

Connor sat next to me, our chairs slightly sat closer than the others, not that anyone bothered to point it out, which I was thankful for.

And my family didn't just immediately bombard us with questions. I'm fact, my mom only asked one.

"Are you happy?"

It took me a bit off guard, but I had smiled and nodded, "I am. Connor makes me happy."

"Then I Hope you stay happy."

And we enjoyed the rest of our dinner peacefully, exchanging small talk about work.

"Technically I'm the one to inherit the company, but dad never trained me, he trained Mark. So I honestly don't even think I'll be a part of it."

"Then what was with all that homework?"

"Self study. Just in case."

The table chuckled at how serious his face was, finishing up our food.

Connor's phone suddenly rang in that moment.

He glanced at it and sighed, "speaking of the devil, I apologize, I should take this. I'll only be a moment." Connor got up and left the room to take the call.

"Honestly, the more about Richard I hear, the more I realize he's well liked for looks alone."

"He is attractive. But Connor is better," I agreed.

My mother laughed at that, "I suppose you're right."

We all talked to ourselves when Connor came back, his face upset.

"I'm sorry to impose, but would you mind if I stayed here for awhile?" His voice was quiet, unsure.

"Of course, what happened?"

He took in a deep breath, "I just got kicked out. And it's obviously not because I'm gay! Mark and Todd are gay as hell! He didn't give me a reason either. He just told me to grab my things and never come back."

"Let's go get your shit then, I'm cussing that fucker out."

"Need any backup?" My brother asked, annoyance towards the Grace household in his tone.

"No, no, I got this."

I got up and dragged Connor out.

Tome to fuck them up.
