❤• Chapter 4: Hug Me •❤

From what seems like an eternity, the dismissal bell rang. V stood up from his seat, holding the straps of his bag with his hand like what a five year old would do and looked back before proceeding.

"Sinon, want me to walk you there?" He asked.

I grimaced. "No. I don't want to be seen anywhere near you, people might jump to conclusions." I said, still seated in my desk as I gestured for him to go away.

"Okay," he gave a pretty chuckle. "See you there then, jagiya."

My head quickly raised when I heard that nickname he gave me, to see that he had fled off. I rolled my eyes, not letting his pet name get to me, and slung my backpack over my shoulders.

I texted my dad about the last minute arrangements and slid it back in my pocket. I took out my earphones and my phone and began to play heavy metal, as I jostled through the crowd, feeling like a complete bad ass.

A ten minute walk and here I am in front of his house which was across mine. I opened the gate and walked up to the front porch.
I began banging the door like a madman, and shouted his name.

"Hey, V! It's Sinon, open up! Hello!?" I yelled, not thinking about the consequences, whether his parents might hear the ruckus I'm making and set a wrong first impression on them. But, still didn't care.

He still didn't answer as I huffed in annoyance. I placed my hands on my hips and paced in his front porch. Then, my impatience got the best of me, so I decided to let myself in.

I slowly turned the knob, and opened it as a long creaking sound was heard when I entered his house. It was no different from mine. It was simple yet charming. And did I mention, dark. Everything was dim, only the sunlight that made it's way in a small opening through the curtains lit up the room, from the looks of it, his parents or anyone else is here, only hearing mellifluent sounds of a piano that led upstairs. Assuming that it was V, I let my unappeasable curiosity get to me and followed the music as I softly stepped on the wooden staircase, not letting a little bit of sound be heard, but failed miserably, the squeaks of my rubber shoes rubbed against the waxed wooden steps.

I peered to the second floor, the light from the window behind the figure lighting it making it a dark silhouette, playing the piano beautifully with his eyes closed, letting the music soothe him as he plays. My eyes shot open as I crouched down at the stairs. I didn't know he could play, and he does it professionally like a walk in the park.

My shock expression faltered to a frown. Like Min.

Suddenly, the music stopped as I heard footsteps get closer. I choked on my spit, debating the possible excuses I could use to probably deceive him, tiptoeing away from the source of the footsteps in attempt to flee. As everything usually goes, I got caught red handed.

"Sinon?" He called out, his hands on the handles of the staircase.

I swallowed the lump caused by anxiousness and mustered enough courage to look back. As outgoing and carefree his personality may be, he might sue me for breaking and entering.

"Yah, why didn't you answer the door? You were taking so long that I just let myself in!" I scoffed and feigned anger, even though I'm not. The lie seemed to work though.

His straight smile molded to the box-shaped smile.

"Come upstairs." He gestured for me to come. I kept my frown and just followed him, pretending that I was forced.

He sat down in the stool next to the piano and began caressing the keys, admiring the shiny ebony piano.

"Did you hear me play, Sinon?" He asked still facing me with that stupid charisma of his, probably trying to impress me.

"A little bit, who composed it anyway?" I accidentally blurted out, but shrugged it off.

"My family. It's called 'Hug me'" He muttered under his breath, staring at me with a smile that never gets off his face. "I'll record myself singing and give it to you, so whenever you feel sad, you can play it and feel better. I'm still working on the instrumental though."

I groaned and covered my face using my palm. "How sad." I mumbled.

"You're relentless, and it's going to lead you to heartbreak. Just give up." I blatantly discouraged him, and then my eyes widened when I realized the similarity of statements, set back years ago.

"You're relentless." I spat at the short haired girl in front of me. "It's only going to lead you to rejection, get lost before you hurt yourself."

I felt an incredible amount of remorse as I looked at him for his reaction.

He was still smiling. But, this time the curtains through his blank expression was ignited to flames, determination burned through.

"Why am I going to give up?" He said, and then gave a playful grin. "I didn't even start yet."

My jaw slackened, leaving my mouth open as I bewilderedly tried to make a sassy remark, but my mouth betrayed me as is stood there speechless.

'Well, guess what, your playing sounds terrible." I lied without thinking, a painful sensation lingered in my heart, regretting everything I said. But outside, was me with a permanent scowl embedded on my face as I glared at him.

He smiled toothily. "Don't worry. I'll work hard so that you'll like it. I'll perfect the piece, for you." He stood up from his seat and arranged the musical piece and tucked it under the piano as he rummaged through his bag for his biology notes, or so it seemed.

"Let's get started, shall we." He grinned broadly.

I still stood there confused as he chuckled and held my arm, leading me away from the stairs. I felt jolts of electricity travel through my arm as warmth covered my cheeks. I tightened my jaw, and scoffed, looking away from him.

We seated on the open space which I assume is like a circular corridor, and scanned through the notes, some scattered all over(that was my notes) and some piled up neatly. We compiled important details in a separate piece of paper and after an hour of writing, I stretched my arms upward and circled neck since it hurt from all the writing.

"All right, I'll just use the typewriter for this." V said, standing up from floor and walked to the figure with a large cloth covering it. I raised an eyebrow. He removed the cloth as dust flew everywhere. I covered my nose as he blew the remaining dust of the typewriter hiding inside the cloth. It looks like it was a well preserved antique from a hundred years ago, and a paper stuck out on top of it. Forgive me, I have no idea how that works, or nor will I care.

"Why are we using a typewriter? There's a printing service beside the convenience store." I asked, my voice muffling against my palm as my free hand swatted dust away from me.

"I'm more comfortable using this." He said, taking out a checkered handkerchief from his pocket, lending it to me.

"You know that it needs to be perfect for a report, and once you misspelled, that's a point deducted from our grades. If this does no convenience to our work-!" I threatened and grabbed the handkerchief from his hands and brought it to my nose, his cologne stuck to his handkerchief.

"I won't disappoint you, Sinon!" He said confidentially, and stared at me for permission to start. I sighed and gestured for him to start. He pressed the lettered keys as inked letters imprinted on the sheet of paper, and when it got to the full sentence he moved the upper part sideways and continued. I groaned and moved backwards to lean against the wall as he continued really fast. I clenched my fists.

If I see any typos, I'll end him!

I raised my hood to my head, and scanned through my music list, pressing my earphones to my ear, and listened to classical music. Curiosity was itching for me to search it.

I typed in the words as a single result came.

'Hug me - by Kim Sana.'

I listened to a girl's voice voice sung beautifully while playing a piano piece, similar to what V was playing earlier. Come to think of it, the piano she's using is alike to V's piano. She must be related to V then.

I listened to her singing and went back to classical music and thirty minutes later, I heard paper ripping. I took a glimpse at him aligning the thick sheets of paper as he walked over to me with a satisfied smile.

"I'm finished." He grinned and crouched down in front of me as I scanned through the sheets of paper. No typos, no grammatical errors, it was even arranged in order with numbers at the bottom. Hate to say it, but he's outdone himself.

"Wow, you typed a fifteen paper full of information correctly, props to you then." I tepidly praised him. He scratched the back of his neck, a blush evident in his cheeks.

"I'm happy that I helped you out." He beamed in excitement then his smile disappeared as he looked at me in shock.

"What?" I frowned.

"You......Your smiling!" He exclaimed while he shouted and jumped around the room happily as I frowned when I took notice of my curving lips. I covered my mouth with the Hood of my jacket and stood up. I handed the pile of paper to him and wore my backpack, leaving all my biology notes scattered in the floor mixing with his, distinctly obvious that his was the notes with disarrayed order of words and scrawly writing. But, for now I didn't care.

"I'll be going now." I hastened my pace and proceeded to the stairs.

He stopped prancing and stared back at me. I felt his smile burn through me as I exited myself out. I closed the door behind me and leaned on it, still confused at what happened. I slapped my cheeks angrily. This was not me. This is the old me.

The sky turned purple, with a little shade of orange as the the sun set, our house covering the rest of the sunset. I gave an exaggerated burst of air and walked straight forward.
