Chapter Nine: Quest Part Three
I started climb up the mountain. Which wasn't easy, I had no security rope or easy footing.
So I tried to press myself flat against the mountain and move one baby-step at a time.
What also didn't help was that I learned I was afraid of climbing mountains. One misstep and there would be an Erik-colored blotch on the ground below. That only scared me more.
I normally love my overactive imagination....Now? Not so much.
One step at a time, don't look down.
I repeated this to myself over and over again.
I was almost halfway to the top!!!!
Then, it started to rain.
And rain.
And rain.
Things were getting very hard to see... How could I climb in this weather????
I squinted and kept going, just at a much slower pace.
Finally, the stupid rain let up and I was able to go back to my baby-step pace instead of my previous snail-pace.
About an hour later, I was nearly at the top. Which was nice....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I was inches away from reaching the top!!!!!
Aaaaaannnnd, YES!!!! I reached it!!!
I pulled myself up and sat down.
That was the most annoying thing I have been forced to do.
And now I have to climb back down.
Yay me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Climbing down is just as hard as climbing up!
It is much more terrible, you are afraid you'll slip or miss your footing and you cannot really see where you're going!!!!
I still did it...I was afraid the whole time, though.
When I got to the ground, I kissed it.
I was that thankful to be on the ground
I walked on the path.
In front, a few paces ahead, was a house.
