"come in jack" a'ja yelled. i walked in and closed the door behind me.

"ouu its cold asf outside" i said going to the fireplace.

"mhm that's why that's on right now" she said making me laugh.

"so you and jazz ?" she asked handing me hot tea.

"thank you bestie" i smiled and she nodded.

"we're good. she's so sweet and so caring. like she's so careless she always make sure im good first" i said.

"aww not you in love again.. i am really happy for you cus now that i've gotten to know her i think she'll be good for you" a'ja said making me smile.

hearing her say that makes me so happy especially since she was so against me dating another stud after kb. & ik my best friend just wants what's best for me.

"thank you bestie. that means so much and im happy for you too, cus we all know damian a lover boy so i think he'll treat your right" i said making her blush.

"aww you're blushing" i teased.

"thank you bookie" she smiled.

"so are you gonna come back to basketball ?? now that you're like healing i think you can handle it you've been doing so good" a'ja asked making me sigh.

"no, im still not where i wanna be yet" i said.

"well are you gonna be back before season starts ??" she asked.

"most likely cus it start in may i think i'll be fine by then" i said.

"but that's to long i need you to come back right now jack. you're my partner and my best friend.. 6 years and even tho i did it my rookie year i done got attached to you"

"i miss you and it feels so different without you"  she said making me lightly smile and shake my head.

"a'ja.. i miss you more but i think this little break is gonna help. it's helping already and i wanna make sure im healed enough to face kb especially before season starts" i explained.

"yeah i guess" she said looking down at her fingers.

"hey, you're gonna be fine. it's just practice yk i will be back before season starts. you don't have to do this alone. just take this time to focus on you" i said making her look at me.

"and yk im still cheering you own even if im not there right now" i told her.

"im proud of you tho. this is a lot to deal with even as your best friend but you're so brave and so strong" she said making me smile.

"i appreciate you bookie. having yall in my corner especially when i need someone to cry on really keeps me going" i said.

"and yk its vv. besides who else gone tell you look good asf and flirt with you like we f*** ?" i joked making her giggle.

"you're ignorant" she said making me laugh and shake my head.

i got up and walked to the kitchen cus for some odd reason a'ja always have the good snacks.. i looked through the pantry and grabbed some hot fries and a fudge round.

"jack yo phone went off" a'ja said making me continue looking to see what else i want cus a h** hungry.

"who is it & what did they say ?" i asked.

"umm it's jazz and she says ik you hungry ma what you want ?? ouu lala" she said making me laugh a little.

"tell her chipotle my regular order and tell her thank you with 2 hearts" i said. a few minutes later i walked out and plopped down on the couch.

a'ja looked at me and threw my phone down making me laugh.

"you so big cus why you got chips, a cake, and 2 packs of gushers ??" she asked.

"girl cus im hungry yk i love food" i said.

"those are not even for me, their for the guests anyway but you're not a guest" she said making me laugh.

"so you and damian ??" i asked making her exhale.

"we're good, taking it slow ofc but he is such a gentleman and so selfless" she said.

"period. yeah cus bam was selfish asf and he made everything about him" i said shaking my head.

"exactly so when he asked me about my day and how i was doing i was stuck cus like wym ??" she said making me laugh and nod.

"not us in happy situationships" i said making her smile & nod.

"jack is that a hickey ??" a'ja asked pointing to my chest.

"girl no goodbye if it was i'd tell you" i said smirking.

"ouu you nasty jacquelyn" she said making laugh and then mug her.

"don't dtm a'ja" i said shaking my head.

"you wanna go watch a movie ??" she asked standing up.

"hyy im cold i need a big warm blanket and some pillows" i said stretching and then we walked to her room.

i love movie days with my bestie. ik this breakup with bam has taken a toll on her so seeing her happy makes me so happy.

"so i wanna talk to you about some" i said to jackie.

"ohh-kay ?? wassup ?" she asked as i sat down on her couch.

today im telling her that i have a daughter because i don't wanna wait so far into the relationship to tell her and she not want it because of that.

"you can tell me anything boo" she said plopping down beside me.

"umm so there's something i didn't tell you and i have been avoiding telling you cus idk how you're gonna react" i said staring at my watch.

"so i have a daughter" i said quickly. i stared at her nervously waiting for reaction.

"how old is she ??" she asked.

"she's 3.. and im telling you now because i didn't wanna get too attached and tell you late and then you not want a relationship because of ts -

"girl no.. what's her name ??" she asked.

"aww omg she's so beautiful." she cooed making me smile.

"so can i meet her ??" she asked making me look up at her in shock. i did not expect her to wanna meet her or at least not so soon.

"ofc.. i think you guys would actually love each other but leyah got you written all over her lol. she nonchalant asf and she don't really like people" i said.

"period. nonchalant queens" she said making me laugh and shake my head.

"i can't wait to meet her" she said.

"i think she would love to meet you too mama" i said.

"i do appreciate you tho. i lost a lot people when i got pregnant. and the way she got here kind of made me see who was really real and who wasn't" i said shrugging.

"what happened ?? if you don't mind me asking" jack said.

" a few years ago, i went to a party with my best friend to celebrate her engagement.. i was given shot after shot after shot even tho i told them i wasn't drinking"

"my best friend real life thought i was hating cus i didn't wanna drink so yk i did just to make her happy. a few minutes later i remember i blacked out i couldn't remember anything".

"long story short, my best friends boy best friend got me drunk asf and took me upstairs and yk did what he did and i ended up pregnant."

"my folks wanted me to yk go to the police for rape but i just didn't" i explained.

"omg mama.. im so sorry" jack said.

"its fine, i got my little blessing from it and she really bettered my life. helped me to become a better women." i said shrugging.

"and the ex- best friend ??" she asked.

"she was blowing my phone up, tryna apologize and get me back but i was done. and it's not even the fact that it was her boy best friend it was the fact that she saw him take me upstairs, she knew what he was gonna do, and she ain't stop ts" i said.

"okay but she probably was in on it cus why was she so desperate for you to drink ???" jackie said shaking her head.

"anyways, one of my homegirls caught her in the store and beat her down lol. i mean she knocked a tooth out." i said laughing.

"period as she should" jack said being messy.

"im really proud of you boo. you been through h*ll and back since such a young age. you really doing this life ish tho.. yo own boss got a amazing little girl you name it. you winning" she said as i pulled her onto my lap.

"and now you got me that's gone forever stick beside you" she added.

"mhm definitely a 10. i got the baddest wife out ain't nb topping you" i said lightly rubbing her waists.

"period. yk imma be here when you need me. even if you don't need me imma be here" she said making me giggle.

"you so beautiful yk that" i said lightly grabbing her neck pulling her closer to me.

"mhm let's go" she said against my lips. she got up and grabbed my hand leading me to her room.

"so like you good at decorating cus it's super nice in here" i asked looking around.

"lol no ma'am, a'ja did all this" shes said as we laughed.

"but ik you good a decorating considering how yo office look" she said as we got into bed.

"yeah i like to decorate for fun and sometimes i am a interior designer" i said laying my head on her chest.

"what can't you do" she said.

"keep healthy knees" i said making her burst out into laugher.

"what im so dead serious.. both of my knees just out, done, and ragedy.. mind you im only 26" i said shaking my head.

she wrapped her arms around me pulling me closer to her. her perfume hitting my nose. she smell good, look, i wonder if she taste good too.
