Chapter - 4

Aayat's POV

"No, no, no, this can't be happen!" I said to myself hopped down from the camel.

"Where is everyone, huh?" I asked to the camel who is now blankly looking at me without an expression standing in front of it.

"Bhaaaaaa! Bhaaaaaa!" The camel sounded.

"What?" I asked to it as become totally frustrated.

"Oh! What I am talking to me? I think I am going to faint," I said.

I was searching for my group when I remember I had my phone with me in my backpack which is now hanging in my shoulder. What a stupid I am.

I instantly took out my phone from my backpack and dialed my teacher's number who was the head of our group. But it of no use because my phone didn't catching signal that's mean I can't contact with them. But without losing hope my tried to call my friends in the group even I tried to call my father, but nothing helped.

Now I am really feeling scared in this desert. Oh My God!

"What I am gonna do? Huh? Think Aayat think Aayat! Why all this is happening to me?" I snapped.

I looked at the camel which is now sitting in the group without any depression or frustration that means this situation doesn't affect it a little. Then I realized that actually the camel is blind, it cannot see anything. That means its all his fault. Now its all clear to me that last night when I fall asleep, in the dark he couldn't recognize the way and lost the group somehow and now we are standing in this place.

I want to cry. Seriously, I want to cry. I sat on the ground and tried to calm down myself as my adrenaline started rushing so fast in my body.

After few minutes later I decided to start walk  following the footsteps of the camel in the way from where it comes.

I started walking with the camel, I can't leave him in this place after all he is now my only company. But after sometime of following the footsteps I recognized that I came to the same place from where I started to walk. Really this is happening to me why?

I am lost, totally lost in this desert. I am freaking out in this situation. My phone is not working, this camel didn't helped me at all.

"Okay I have deal with this," I said to myself.

I looking at the sun who shinning in this sky which means the sun is now in east side that only results I have to go in the direction of the sun, I will find the base camp.

"Yeah! I have to stay positive, I can do this," I said to myself.

I started walking with the camel again.

******************************

After 2 hours of walking in this hot weather I really got tired. I was breathing heavily so I decided to take so rest. I sat in the ground of the desert. Damn the ground is so warm. The camel also sat in front of me.

"Bhaaaaaa!Bhaaaaaa!" The camel sounded again.

"Yeah we are lost but we will find the way," I murmured.

"You know what I can't blame you for this situation because it was also my fault that we are now in this situation," I said to the camel.

He doesn't respond anything. I don't know what he is thinking. Anyways.

After few minutes of rest, we started walking again.

******************************

After 1 hour of walking, I saw a pitch road going in the direction of south. I followed the pitch road with the camel.

I walking through the road when I saw a old man is coming in opposite direction of me with is his bicycle. Founding a trace of human being in this remote place I couldn't stop showing my happiness. I stopped the old man to ask him for help.

"Hey! Old man, I really need your help, please help me," I requested to the old man.

"What's the matter? Why you are looking so terrified?" The old man asked me as he stopped his bicycle.

"Actually I lost my way, so can you please tell me the direction of the base camp of Rann of kachchh?" I asked him.

He looked at me for sometime in confusion.

"If you are looking for the base camp of Rann of kachchh, then first you have to go back to India!" He said to me in confusion.

Then it hits me, what he is trying to say "go back to India". I am in India, where this comes from.

" What you want to mean by saying "go back to India"? I mean I am in India," I said in shock.

"No, no, this is not India, you currently standing in the soil of Pakistan! Where is your parents?" He said to me.

I was in total shock, this is not real, this is just a nightmare nothing else. I was so shocked that I cannot utter a single word from my mouth. I think I am going to faint.

"No, no, old man I think you mistakes, this is not Pakistan, this is India," I tried to convince him. May be he is wrong, he just mistakes.

"No, I am completely sure about this that it is Pakistan, I think you lost your way and entered in Pakistan, isn't you?" He asked.

I started hyperventilating. Millions of thoughts were coming into my mind. What I am going to do now. How will I sought this out? How will I go back?

"C-cann you helpp mmee to go backk to India?" I asked him.

"I think you should go to rangers of border area of Pakistan, may be they will help you," he said reminding something may be." Look I am just a poor farmer, in your case I don't have anything to do, I think you will understand, sorry," he added.

"Are you sure those rangers will help me? I mean I don't have any passport with me nor any legal paper," I asked him in confusion.

"Oh! In that case I don't know that they will help you or not but you should try at once," he said.

"Then why if go the same way I came from? Then I will definitely go back to India," I asked.

"No, no definitely don't do that because if those rangers will found you in the way, they will definitely think you may be some kind of spy, okay?" He said.

"Why will they think like that? I am not a spy, I am just an 18 year old school student and just mistakenly got into here and even its totally not my fault. This camel also have a great fault that I am present in this situation," I said.

"Look I will believe you but they will not because they only believe in rules and regulations, they will definitely ask for your passport or any other official paper to prove yourself," he said in a pathetic way.

"Then what should I do? Should I directly went to them and tell the truth? Or should I go somewhere else?" I asked him.

"You should go to them but I can't assure that they will accept problem in a positive way," he advice.

"Okay, can you give me the direction of base camp of those rangers of border areas?" I asked.

"Sure," he said and gave me the direction of the place. Then he left the place with his bicycle.

I decided to go to those rangers. But when I went to that place actually a little bit away from the base camp of rangers of Pakistan, I saw the flag of Pakistan and now I totally assured that I am standing in Pakistan. At this moment I was again hyperventilating. I couldn't decide that what should I do. Either I go to them and tell them my problem or just run away some other place. I was reminding the words of the old man in my mind which scared me more to confess the truth to those rangers. With this I made my mind to run away from this place and go somewhere else.

I ran ran and ran with my camel from that place.

******************************
After few hours I arrived in a small village, all the day I was escaping from different types of people and searching for a phone booth to call my father and my teachers. I found one but it was locked may be the owner went somewhere.

In this way the day covered, when the sun started to set, I was feeling hungry, lonely and scared.
I was totally confused with my actions.

At last I decided to find a police station, went to there and tell the truth to the police as I don't have any other option.

I asked a person for the direction of the police station and he told me the way.

In the walk to the police station, I tried my cellphone to call my father but it didn't work.

After few minutes later I arrived in front of the police station. I left the camel outside and gestured him to sit in the ground and wait for me to come back. I am not sure that he understood me or not. I took a deep breath and went inside of the police station.

When I got inside I saw a woman of early fifties was debating with a police officer and police officers trying him to stop. Some other person were also there who were enjoying the sight.

At very moment suddenly the police officer pushed the woman and she was going to fall but my hands went to save her coincidentally and I sighed as I saved her.

"Thank you so much for helping me," the woman said to me.

"My pleasure," I replied.
