Chapter 4
Ethan's POV
"Dude, get off my freaking phone!" I shouted at my twelve year old brother Colin who was extremely vexatious . . . in my opinion. Of course, my parents thought that he was inestimable.
Colin was notorious for being a trouble maker in class and apparently now at home too. After staring at him for a few more seconds, I realized that he looked a lot more like my mom than my dad. Anyway, if anyone had a reputation at his school, it would be him.
While I had dark brown eyes and brown hair, Collin had brown hair but light blue colored eyes unlike me. He was also much shorter, like my mom, short but somewhat stocky.
He also had a buzz cut, which no offense to him, but he looked absolutely horrible with it. I can't blame him for having it though since he had lice and then he needed to shave off most of his hair.
Me, on the other hand, had prominent cheek bones and a strong jawline which was etched under my curved lips. I believe that was why Linnea almost fell into a trance when she gave me a once-over a while back when we first met.
"Oooo, you text a girl!" Colin chanted," Wait, its Linnea?" Colin questioned as he looked at me strangely, a playful smirk on his lips.
I paused for a moment and then grinned at Colin, " Yes, Colin," I rolled my eyes, "is there a problem?" I retorted.
Colin gave a sly smile back. "Nice, and no there's not a problem." I knew that he was envious I had a girlfriend since he really wants one. Most of the girls in his his grade are extremely stubborn anyway so he doesn't deserve any of them.
"Anyway," He held out as he picked at a loose string dangling from the hem of his Minecraft t-shirt," what were you even texting about?" Colin inquired suggestively as he tried to grasp my phone out of my hand again.
"Stop it, and I was texting about tonight." I replied flatly as I shoved my phone nonchalantly into my phone-sized pocket in my pants.
"Tonight?" Colin questioned as he looked deeper into my eyes, trying to picture what I was doing," what's tonight?"
"Yeah, I'm going out for dinner with Linnea. Oh, and seriously, stop being so intrusive!" I replied as I squirted some gel into my right hand and began to play around with my hair.
"Are you taking Uncle Ben's Bronco?" Colin inquired as he stood on the toilet seat, trying to reach something on the shelf.
"No, Im taking the Mustang. Besides, I don't want to ruin his Bronco. It's a pretty nice car." I replied as I dreamt about being able to drive my uncle's iconic Bronco some day when I am more advanced at driving.
I was super timorous since I just got my drivers license a month in half ago. To be honest, I haven't gotten a lot of experience driving a lot either.
"Wait, dad let you?" Colin gaped as he looked at me in complete and utter shock that I was taking the Mustang.
"Yeah." I responded flatly as I finished doing my hair, I was really proud of it to be honest.
After I left the bathroom and gelled my hair down. My brown hair looked totally amazing slicked back, making my dark brown hair sparkle in the light. I just knew she was going to love it. To add to that, my tux looked extremely alluring at the moment.
Crap, did I sound to pompous?
"Oh honey, I can't believe you are going on your first date!" My mom exclaimed as she began walking in my bathroom all of a sudden making this somewhat embarrassing.
"Yeah," I mumbled, feeling a little shocked since she had just entered my room without permission,"can you knock next time or something?" I asked with a tone of sass in my voice.
"Yes, yes. I am your mother though, so I get a tad bit of leniance." She reminded giving me her famous glance to remind me to watch what I say.
I nodded in acknowledgment, letting her continue what she had to say to me before I left.
"Well, have fun!" Mom bid happily, suddenly her expression changed, oh, and Ethan, don't drink no matter what or there will be severe consequences young man." She warned as she began to walk away from my bedroom door.
"I promise I won't!" I swore as I through my hands up in the air. Before I left, I watched her slowly march down the stairs to finish dinner for tonight,
~
I strolled downstairs towards the garage, which was when I opened the garage door so I could drive to Linnea's house. The yellow 2012 Mustang shone in the sun's light as the garage door slowly opened, beams of light streaming down. I marched over to the precious car and hopped in. I slid my phone into my pocket, revved the engine and backed out of the garage. I looked towards our front window to see my mom waving at me, hesitantly, I waved back before continuing down the driveway and into the asphalt street.
I quickly texted Linnea before I continued to back out of the driveway, the engine roaring as I let the car sit while Starboy played on the car radio.
I'm on my way see you in a few seconds, haha.
The most comical thing is that I was her neighbor, but I really wanted to impress her with my handsome self and my-okay my dad's- lovely Mustang.
Finally, I pulled up to her white house that sat on a small hill. I unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the car door. The sound of the car door slamming must have echoed through the area since Linnea must have heard me. She smiled over at me through the window and strolled away to open the front door.
This was going to awesome.
AN//ahhh aren't they just adorable?!
