i straightened out my shirt for probably the hundredth time tonight.

"calm down." he gave me a reassuring smile.

as soon as the doors chimed i moved a small piece of my hair in hopes of making it look better.

"yoongi!" his mother grinned opening her arms.

he stood up to give her a hug.

i followed his lead and gave a bow to his father.

we all took our seats again and looked at the menu.

"so, jimin?"

my body seemed to completely shut down at the voice.

with a small thigh squeeze from the boy beside me, i managed to gather up the courage to lock eyes with his father.

"yes mr min?"

"how have you been? i know my wife saw you not too long ago, but she said something came up. it's been years since i saw you last. your mother was so worried about you."

word by word, my confidence drained.

how was i supposed to reply to that?

"a-ah, one of our members had a little bit of a breakdown, but it's better for all of us now. i felt really bad about suddenly leaving like that, it used to haunt me a lot." i knew i was slightly stuttering, but it was the best i could do.

"used to?"

i looked down for a minute trying to think of another response.

"i really do love it here. i've grown to be happy in seoul along with my friends." mrs min gave me a smile.

"if i may ask, why exactly are the four of us here right now, yoongi?"

he gave his dad a sincere look.

"we want to tell you something." yoongi's mother seemed to have a change in heart.

her smile fell as yoongi confessed the little secret.

"we're together."

my heart was pounding in my ears.

i had to close my eyes to keep from passing out.

even though he was so collected before, his hand went to mine in a tight embrace.

"i-, yoongi, what about your girlfriend?"

"i broke up with her."

"jimin, what about the past?"

"we moved on." he answered for me but i was honestly grateful for it.

"you can't just move on from what happened between the two of you. you were depressed for months and he tried to commit suicide. if anything were to go wrong or-"

"i won't as long as we can have this dinner."

i opened my eyes for only a second before i had to close them again.

the whole room was basically spinning.

"i'm sorry, but we can't accept this."

"we're not asking you to, i love him and as my parents you should at least support it." i knew yoongi was getting choked up.

i couldn't even breathe.

the atmosphere was suffocating.

the sound of an uncomfortable cough and a chair scooting out made me finally come back to reality.

"we're sorry; both of you, we just can't pretend to be okay with this. your mother was already upset when you told her you were roommates now. this isn't good for anyone boys."
