Jumping and dodging out of the way, Saruyama found it was easier to roll along the ground to avoid the attack being sent her way than it was to leap further upwards. Tobirama was relentless, she could feel herself getting tired, her limbs were starting to grow heavy. They had been outside long enough for the sun to properly rise, the sounds of movement about their compound reached their ears, and yet Tobirama didn't let up. Saruyama resisted letting out a childish whimper, she was getting hungry here. Did her brother not feel the same? From the intense way he turned his head and looked her way, Saruyama guessed not, no.
Saruyama went to take a step forward before Tobirama, only he dashed forwards before she could properly shift into gear. Only a blur went passed her and she just stood with heavy hanging arms to see that Itama had decided to come and join in. Feeling an arm around her shoulders, she looked up at Hashirama, he just smiled warmly and ruffled her hair gently. It was already sticking up thanks to all of this training that Tobirama had forced on her so early in the morning, now Hashirama's hand just made it worse.
She laughed at Tobirama's face when he looked rather displeased that their old brother had joined in too. Itama was easy enough to hold off, his skill set didn't go too far beyond Saruyama's, but Hashirama? That was possibly a no, Saruyama dusted herself down before inhaling slowly and running forwards. If she couldn't beat Tobirama on her own, then who was she to say not to the aid?
Poor Tobirama though, he really was struggling to hold off his siblings, especially when Itama and Saruyama teamed up and complimented each other's moves so well, as a unit, as a duo, they were rather flawless, they had their own weaknesses and strengths and where one failed, the other succeeded. He'd just managed to ward off Itama again, only to have Saruyama leaping over her twin's shoulders as he rolled backwards, Tobirama held up an arm and blocked the kick she sent his way. He'd just pushed her away only to lift up a leg and block another kick from Hashirama. The eldest got a narrow red eyed glare sent his way, the twins were holding back for a moment, so Hashirama had all of Tobirama's attention.
Though before he could mount an attack, Tobirama's eyes widened and he staggered and wobbled when his younger siblings ran up on him, tackled him and practically hung from his shoulders laughing. It was a cue then, and though Tobirama shook his head and went to hold up his hands to deter Hashirama, it didn't stop the brunette from grinning widely and pouncing. Tobirama was strong, the weight of his younger siblings was enough to make his knees weaken, but coupled with Hashirama throwing his arms around him from the front? It was a no go, Tobirama's legs gave out and he went falling backwards.
The twins did manage to move so they weren't squashed against the dirt, but Tobirama only found that them moving meant joining Hashirama, Tobirama just laid there looking displeased up at the three above him. They all seemed happy enough, even with dirt gracing some of their features now, or if you're Saruyama, red cheeked, dirty faced and sweating a little from all of this, plus the fighting beforehand.
"You can all move now." Tobirama said rather stoically, he just accepted he was stuck and waited for them all to move.
"Do you admit defeat?" Hashirama asked, sounding thoughtful and looking at him curiously.
There was a sigh from the white haired boy, he even shut his eyes before seemingly thinking for a moment. The three just waited and watched, none of them would be surprised if he tried to fight his way out from underneath them. But instead, Tobirama just consented, it was a silent consent though. He'd never openly admit defeat, he was too proud and stubborn for that.
Hashirama let his brother go, Itama and Saruyama leaped up too, though both grabbed an arm of Tobirama's and hauled him up as well. "What are you doing out here so early? How long have you been out here for?" Hashirama looked around, the area was scattered with discarded kunai and shuriken, from the dirt etching both of them, he got the feeling they had been here for a long time.
"It was his idea," Saruyama was quick to point a finger at Tobirama, he stopped brushing dirt and dust from his arms and looked at her with a frown. "What? It was! You're the one that woke me up early to come out here..."
"Yes, and do you remember why that is?" Tobirama countered without even blinking an eye. Saruyama pouted, she kicked at the ground and nodded her head slowly. Tobirama set his sights back on his other brothers. "If I knew you two wanted to join in, I would've woken you both up too."
Hashirama chuckled awkwardly and scratched the back of his neck, "Steady on now, Tobirama." He even waved his other hand, Tobirama just raised an eyebrow, that couldn't be more of a no unless Hashirama physically said the word.
Itama was looking his sister over with a worried glance, "Maybe another day," if this was the state of his sister, Itama had no issue in realising that he'd end up the same way. Hashirama would be fine enough, but he wasn't surprised to see Saruyama a little scraped up.
Tobirama tilted his head minutely, he knew that was a lie and wasn't even going to bring it up. Instead, he turned when he heard a voice from the doorway, their father stood there, his face the usual stern mask he wore as he looked towards his children. Whatever fun and games they could've had, or were having, quickly went when they looked his way. He didn't need to say anything, his face said it all, they were needed today.
Hashirama was standing behind his siblings, and all he could do to anchor onto them, was to place one hand on Tobirama's shoulder, as the other landed on Itama's and he stepped close enough to be near Saruyama and look over her head at their father. He looked as sternly back at Butsama, as he was looking their way. He didn't say anything, he just turned on his heels and walked back inside. The three siblings looked back at their older brother, Hashirama looked uncomfortable, a complete contrast to the happy looking boy from moments ago.
"Go wash up," Hashirama looked at Tobirama and Saruyama predominantly, going into a fight already mucky from a spar wouldn't matter, not really, but it'd just add to the grime they'd pick up. "Itama, you and I shall go prepare a quick meal, then find our armour." Hashirama wasn't surprised to see his younger brother looking uncertainly at him, but he nodded his head slowly. Once Tobirama and Saruyama had eradicated the effects of their early morning training, himself and Itama would go do the same.
Though there was a time limit to get ready, it also did not appear like there was a rush. If there was, Butsama would've voiced as such and hurried them into action. Instead, he looked at them and turned away, it was the usual way in which he acted most times, let alone before a fight. Hashirama watched as the duo disappeared towards the area of their home that held the washroom, Itama looked slowly away and up at Hashirama.
"I didn't know this was going to come around so soon." Itama said slowly, he had heard, and he had listened and even talked about the possible match against the Uchiha looming, again. Where and when the Uzumaki would get involved, Itama didn't know. But it was something he and his friends had talked about. It was something himself and Saruyama had talked about too while lying in their beds at night while their other siblings were asleep.
"I know father told us to be ready, but even I have to agree with you, Itama." Hashirama nudged his brother forwards, "Come, we best get moving or else he'll be out here to get us." Itama nodded slowly, his expression tense as he walked beside his brother. Both looked around the kitchen space when they entered the room, Butsama had beaten them to it, he was making breakfast for them it seemed.
"Where are the other two?" He stopped what he was doing, teapot in hand as he looked at the brothers which had quietly come into the room.
"Washing, I thought it would be best them not go into battle already covered in dirt." Hashirama replied as simply as possible, Butsama nodded his head slowly. "We came in to make breakfast and find our armour."
"I've got that sorted; you go find all of your gear. Same for your brother and sister," Butsama nodded his head back, indicating for them to just retire to their room and find the things they needed.
Hashirama found himself stalling, even as Itama stepped away from him, his dark eyes looked back confused as to why his older brother hadn't moved. Something in Hashirama's gut had him sticking to his spot, he did glance at Itama, but his gaze eventually returned to their father. "How bad?" Hashirama asked slowly, something was screaming out to him that there was an issue, that something had already happened, and they were on the back foot; it was an instinct, just something that had grown more and more as he grew up.
Butsama ceased moving, his hands poised over the items on the counter in front of him before he turned and looked back at his sons. "A skirmish happened earlier this morning, there was drastic loses on both sides. But the Uchiha are moving, and they are drawing closer."
Hashirama understood, putting a hand on Itama's shoulder, he urged him to walk away. They'd leave their father to his task; they had their own. It was a little while later when they were laying out the armour that footsteps entering the room had both looking to the door. Saruyama had a towel on her head, her clothes much like Tobirama's were stuck a little to her because of the dampness of their skin, Tobirama's hair seemed mostly dry, the white spikes already returning to their normal style.
Hashirama had to explain to them what their father had said, both exchanged a look before nodding slowly. It was an unspoken thing then, the need to get ready quickly with very little questions asked until they needed asking. Tightening the straps on Itama's shoulder guards, Saruyama glanced sidelong at her older brothers, they were aiding each other getting ready too.
"How many more times do we have to do this?" She asked sadly, looking at her arms and strapping her forearms up. Best hide the winding pinkish scar on her arm, she didn't need someone to spot it and home in on a possible weak spot.
"Until there are none of them left, or none of us."
Tobirama's words had Saruyama frowning at him, "Can't there be a middle ground?" She was sick and tired of helping her brother get into armour, and she was sure he felt the same; she couldn't believe for one moment that Tobirama enjoyed getting suited for war.
He just looked at her long and hard, he was going to answer but Hashirama stepped between them, placing a hand on each of their shoulders, he exchanged looking at one then the other. "We can discuss other ways to live later. But for now, we need to move." Hashirama said seriously, pointedly while they both just accepted that.
Itama led the way out of the room, Saruyama following suit with Hashirama and Tobirama walking side by side. Each of them was checking they had everything, weapons in place, armour strapped down properly, by the time they entered the kitchen space, they weren't too surprised to see in between prepping the meal and it being ready to eat, that Butsama had changed into his armour too. Their father was an imposing man anyway, stoic and serious and didn't show much emotion other than bouts of anger at times, he wasn't soft, and he didn't show care like any of them did, but him being in armour just made him look so much more of an imposing figure. He was a serious man, with serious sets of skills and abilities that made him quite the opponent.
It wasn't completely abnormal that while eating, Butsama went over battle plans, the siblings just ate silently and didn't bring anything up, unless it was a query about some part or another. Their father would answer simply, and then return to talking, or being silent or even eating. It would take them an hour, maybe two to get to where the Uchiha were known to be. There would be very little breaks, so they needed to be prepared for the trek and that as soon as they arrived, they would instantly be fighting.
It was unclear where the Uzumaki stood in all of this, and none of the siblings bought the topic up. Either they had been beaten so badly there wasn't much of a force left, or they would meet them there. Regardless, the family sat and ate and thought over their own separate musings, whether it revolved around the oncoming day or not, in a way thinking of other matters was a nice way to avoid the onslaught that was coming their way.
"I saw you both training earlier on," Butsama's voice had Tobirama and Saruyama looking away from each other and at their father. He just sighed, Tobirama was his usual poised self, and Saruyama had her cheeks full of rice with wide eyes. He shook his head, his children were all so opposing characters, yet all had such similar traits at the same time. "It seems like you have a skill in teaching, Tobirama." Butsama looked away from his son and to Saruyama, she was looking sidelong at nothing, pouting away. Shaking his head, Butsama picked up his tea, "Your training underneath Tobirama, I can see how you've progressed even from the time taken out to heal." Saruyama's eyes widened considerably as she sat up straight and looked at their father, he just sipped at his drink with his eyes shut. He didn't praise his daughter often, it was awful to say he didn't praise any of his children really, but he was proud of them, all in their own ways of how they conducted themselves.
"He kept calling Hashirama a slacker so..." Saruyama trailed off with a smirk as she looked at Hashirama when he choked on his tea and looked hurt, his brown eyes looked saddened by this information.
"I didn't use that word in particular, Saruyama." Tobirama wished to correct her, but even he could see the damage had been done. Hashirama just looked like a hurt puppy, Tobirama sighed, his brother was being dramatic, again.
"The implication was there!"
"Is that how you look at me?" Hashirama's head hung slowly as his food got temporarily ignored, even his shoulders slumped.
Itama still had his chopsticks in his mouth as he reached up and patted his older brother on the shoulder. "Definitely not, Hashirama."
"It's nice to see Itama is not regarding me like you two do." Hashirama said while putting an arm around his younger brother's shoulders. "Don't listen to them, Itama."
Itama raised an eyebrow and chuckled awkwardly. "Okay..." When Hashirama was being dramatic, it was best just to let the moment run its course.
Saruyama pointed a finger at Hashirama, "You know full well I don't think you're a slacker, Hashirama. Take a joke and twist it to make us sympathise you, why not?"
"There's no sympathy here." Tobirama didn't even wait a moment to say this once his sister had finished talking, Saruyama snapped her head to look at him while Hashirama looked depressed again and Itama just laughed nervously.
"I can't help it if I would rather just spend time with my siblings, than fight them." Hashirama said decisively and looked stubbornly away from Tobirama, he just looked at him simply before turning back to his food.
Butsama just watched them all and sighed heavily, their little squabbles were amusing, they never said hurtful things, even with Hashirama acting like he was, Butsama knew full well he took the banter to heart, in an odd way. "Finish up, we leave soon." Butsama watched his kids stop their little moment and look his way, each of them reacted differently to this; Tobirama's expression didn't falter from its usual neutrality, Hashirama frowned and looked uncertain, whereas the twins exchange a look which was full of concern. He understood full well their worries, many families had started the day together, only to wind up broken and split because of death; Butsama's thoughts on this would be realised more sooner than he'd imagine, but that was something that transpired later on in the day, near to the evening.
Most of the clan were setting out, the only ones which weren't were those which were injured or too young, there wasn't a list for people those which were too old to join in, being that it was extremely rare to live well into adulthood, let alone old age. Of course, there were the few that were, like the clan elders, and they for the most part usually stuck to the shadows and saw to business through the means of others. They weren't exactly direct, or they didn't voice their issues or any orders vocally in front of everyone, there was always someone who'd deliver their words to the masses.
It was a solemn march, no one really spoke to each other although small groups did form and walk together. Itama's group of friends drifted over to join them, Amaya for once didn't seem to be wearing a misplaced smile, and the siblings of Satoko and Satoshi just exchanged curt nods with Hashirama and Tobirama before Itama and Satoko quietly talked amongst themselves. Saruyama sent Hashirama a look which had him looking even more troubled than he did before they left.
Of course, he was happy Itama had made friends, perhaps even was experiencing something as sweet and innocent as his possible first love, but the pain of knowing how short lived that could be hurt him. Hashirama never wanted to see Itama hurt, physically or emotionally, losing this connection to this girl would harm the black and white haired boy, and the harm would run deep.
Amaya seemed rather brave to try and pluck up a conversation with Tobirama, though that didn't seem to be going the way she expected as Tobirama, as ever, seemed rather indifferent. It could appear rude, but that was just his way, he didn't mean it, or at least Hashirama hoped he didn't. Saruyama sidled up to him and crossed her arms loosely, Hashirama looked away from the younger children around him, to his sister, she was just looking at him, seemingly knowing he felt troubled.
Reaching up, she placed a hand against his arm and sighed heavily, there was nothing Saruyama could say to reassure him, and Hashirama was glad just to have her near as they continued onwards. Every so often they could see their father glance their way, as if making sure they were all still present or behaving; it wasn't like they could go anywhere, what would happen if they ran away? Branded a traitor and the aftermath of that wouldn't even bear thinking about.
It would be asking too much for the quiet trudging towards the fight would last longer than it did, but it didn't; it really didn't, the attack on them came suddenly, and at once. The Uchiha they were going out to meet, had found them before they had reached their last known whereabouts. Even those within the Senju gathered which were more adept with sensing couldn't raise the alarm quick enough. It wouldn't be the first time that a blitz attack was sent their way, and it was highly unlikely it would be the last, all anyone could do was to block, prepare and follow through with an offensive counterattack.
None of them had exactly had the battle plan told to them, it was a loose plan at best, after all they weren't sure to what they were walking into. The sibling group all got disbanded, purely because of how the Uchiha gathered cut through the Senju line; it was chaos, pure chaos, which was clearly what their enemies wanted. It was much easier to pick off those gathered before they could fight back, that was the whole point of this ambush, get as many of them out of the way as possible before a counterattack could be put in place.
There were orders shouted, voices calling out, but it was such carnage it was hard to figure out what to do, or where to go; standing ground wasn't the wisest idea considering everything surrounding them, Itama grabbed a hold of Saruyama's wrist and pulled her away while lifting his katana up and blocking the hit she didn't see. Practically twirling around him, she did much the same, protected Itama's back from the blow which was coming his way.
Their group had been scattered, as ever it was so much easier to pick off the children, and that seemed like a given as some younger Senju the twins didn't know the names of were already on the ground around them. From a glance, they appeared to have been more Kawarama's age, it was a sad end, to a short life. Itama got a shove from his sister, and as he glanced over her way, he watched her block swipes and hits before managing to make a breakthrough and stabbed her katana through the man's stomach. Pulling it out, Saruyama whipped off the blood and pushed Itama again, they were too closed in, being penned in is what the Uchiha wanted, and like hell was she going to give them what they wanted.
Others had had a similar idea, branching out and moving away from this woodland pathway to wider areas which were much suited to skirmishes. Neither of the twins knew where their apparent comrades were, maybe the Uzumaki which were meant to be aiding them with this band were all dead? They were expecting as much, to be honest.
"Left!" Saruyama shouted at Itama, he nodded and skidded low on the ground while she turned in the moment she leapt and blocked another hit, the woman before her didn't see Itama charging in from her left side until it was too late. Even before she fell the pair were running off and leaping up into the trees. They weren't looking for anyone, they were just trying to get distance to counter any hits which were sent their way. They both would've loved to find their brothers, and their father, but there were so many people gathered and so much bloodshed and attacks, they wouldn't even know where to start.
Hearing Itama shout had Saruyama pausing and looking his way, he had diverted from following her and had run into the clearing present. She looked down and at the way they were going before frowning and following suit. The Uchiha who was seemingly close to beating Amaya didn't see Saruyama falling from the tree, knee aimed at their head, let alone Itama sweeping in from low to the ground.
"Where are the others?" Itama helped Amaya up, she stretched out awkwardly, she looked in pain, there was blood on her armour and on patches of skin which could be seen. "Amaya! Where are the others?" Itama exclaimed when the girl seemed to grow distant and look around wide eyed, it was like she couldn't figure out how she had got here.
Hearing a shout, Saruyama pushed at Itama's shoulders, "Amaya, snap out of it, we need to go!" Saruyama nodded to the side, the voice that shouted out sounded young. Much like not wishing to give the Uchiha what they wanted, she really didn't want to accept losing anyone young if she could help it.
Itama pulled at his friend, Amaya, as wooden as she was, did follow suit, weapon raised as the trio ran through the foliage and entered yet another small band fighting. Satoko was on the ground, and Satoshi was standing before her defending his sister as she pushed herself up. The Uchiha who was ruthlessly throwing attacks his way looked no older than Saruyama. Glancing at her brother, the pair nodded before running quickly and attacking from either side.
The girl dodged and backed off, Saruyama narrowed her eyes and red eyes stared blankly right back at her. She could hear Satoshi get his sister up, though she let out a pained noise which had the girl slowly smirking. Itama stood beside Saruyama, and the pair slowly looked at each other, this one girl was clearly strong to have easily beaten Satoko and was close to doing the same to her brother. Having her sharingan activated probably aided her, quite a bit.
With the anger in her attacks, it was clear this was an all or nothing thing for her. Much like many others, she was fighting with aggression to appease some feeling which no doubt was anger, and loss. Everyone had suffered the same thing, but Saruyama and Itama didn't fight like they did. There was nowhere to back up to, no safe point, the most Satoshi could do for his sister was basically scoop her onto his back and leap up and away, it was a fifty-fifty chance whether he'd make it to somewhere safe to protect his sister, Amaya went along with them, Satoshi would need someone watching his back while he escaped with his sister.
"If I knew you were so easy to fight against, I would've come finding you all sooner. But no, we had to wait for you to come close." The girl tilted her head, her black hair which was tied up swished a little with the movement. A rather sardonic smile graced her face as her red eyes flicked between the twins. "If you were wondering where your little friends are, they're all gone. They didn't put up much of a fight, much like you all now."
Itama readjusted his grip on his katana upon hearing what had become of the Uzumaki whereas Saruyama raised an eyebrow. "For someone who's trying to goad us, your words seem so hollow, and pained." Saruyama widened her stance and lifted her sword back up. The girl clearly hated what she said, her expression becoming stormy, but Saruyama couldn't help it...the girl just sounded so haunted, yes, she was angry that was a given, but she also sounded in so much pain.
"Don't patronise me!" She shouted and shook her head fiercely before dashing forwards. "You have no idea what you and your clan have done to me!" She leaped and dove in for an attack, thanks to her eyes it didn't exactly make it hard for her to see through what they were doing and block them. "I will not be happy until every single one of you are dead and gone!" Itama got a swift kick away as Saruyama's katana got blocked, she managed to unbalance the girl ever so slightly and she took this opportunity to grip harder onto her sword and lash forwards, the hilt smacked the girl right in the nose and she staggered backwards, she instantly gripped her bleeding nose and glared even more up at Saruyama. "You'll regret that."
Itama righted himself and charged forwards, Saruyama remembered most of the recent things Tobirama was trying to drum into her, all she needed as an opening, just one opening and that came after their attacks were blocked, Saruyama watched the girl fall to her knees before then further collapsing against the ground. Her head had been turned and Saruyama hit against her temple before she saw the attack coming, she wasn't dead, Saruyama guessed she should kill her...but she pitied her, anger twisted people and made them into something that isn't them, the only hope is somehow the anger will be worked through and something better would come.
Not that that was likely all the while they were fighting, Saruyama shuttled along the ground suddenly, if only thanks to Itama pushing her so strongly away. She righted herself just to see him block and try and hit back at the Uchiha before him, Saruyama blinked and rolled backwards when someone was trying to do the same to her when she was still on the ground. She didn't exactly know this woodland, and like most woodland the terrain could change so suddenly, her rolling and dodging led to her falling down an incline and hitting against a few trees before stabbing into the ground and halting her fall.
Shaking leaves from her hair, she looked up to see the person who'd driven her away had already gone. Saruyama felt a panic rise in her, Itama was up there, alone with them two and no doubt more appearing. Punching into the ground, she hauled herself up. The ground below her was slippery, dewy but also from blood. Saruyama ignored some bodies which she was climbing up and past, they were both her clan and the Uchiha, and it was best to just blank them for now and focus; she needed to get to Itama, now.
With gritted teeth she managed to crest the incline, Itama and the Uchiha weren't here anymore. The unconscious body of the girl was, Saruyama frowned down at her as she passed and knelt down, hand to the ground and focussing with her eyes shut. Itama's presence, his chakra, she knew it like the back of her hand, trying to pinpoint where he was when she got everyone else's whereabouts bombarding her was hard, it was a lot to work through, but she managed.
Turning her head suddenly, she gripped her katana and jumped up and into the trees. This fight was just dragging on and on, it was ridiculous how much time flew when caught in a battle; but it was literally a battle of attrition, there was no give or take, it was just this constant barrage. Saruyama passed bands of people fighting, people easily slaughtering others without a second glance before moving to the next person; Saruyama felt her stomach turn, she hoped Itama had found himself amongst others to fight those which had clearly taken to wanting to fight him.
Skidding to a stop, she looked around, her breath was heaving and her heart was pounding, this wasn't from the running and tracing, this was pure panic, she couldn't feel Itama, her eyes looked around frantically, she had come to the right area and feeling a sudden surge, Saruyama leaped and jumped quickly, hurriedly because she could feel a wavering in that feeling.
Pausing and looking around a tree, Saruyama's red eyes stared long and hard at the bodies in the area, what was the point of so many being dead? Snapping her eyes upwards, she gripped onto her katana and was fully prepared to leap down, Itama was outnumbered, and he looked absolutely terrified, Saruyama schooled her expression and paused when she heard him shout, much to the confusion of the Uchiha adults around him. "Just run! Run, Saru, just run!" Itama shouted out, his voice breaking a little as his dark eyes seemingly stared around the area, Saruyama shook her head slowly, he could feel her close, and he knew full well what she intended to do. "I said run!" Itama shouted again, Saruyama could see the confused words exchanged between the Uchiha, they clearly thought he was losing his sanity, but what he was doing was the most selfless thing he could do: save his sister from dying beside him, as absolutely agonising as it was, Itama would not fight by her side, only for them both to die, how could he rest in the afterlife knowing he would've bought her with him? She was strong, and she would hurt, but she would live to fight for another day if she just listened to him.
Saruyama shouted out and went to jump down regardless of when she saw the Uchiha had had enough and just mounted an attack, one snapped their eyes up to her and she shook her head before letting out a growl and watching Itama block and wave her away, he still shouted at her to leave. How could she? How could she leave him? Itama shouted out when he watched her jump down and run towards him, he didn't want her to die beside him, and Saruyama wasn't willing to turn her back for self-preservation and allow him to die.
Yes, they were severely outnumbered, but like hell would she turn away and leave him. Tobirama said there was no shame in getting out, in surviving, but what was the cost of that? Knowing she hadn't tried to save her brother? How could she possibly live with that? That would be a death sentence all of itself.
Itama was the first to fall, receiving a stab through the stomach which had him sagging, Saruyama went to him, or tried to, she had managed to deal with at least one of their attackers, but they were still outnumbered. Itama pushed her shoulder from the katana which was swung down, Saruyama tumbled to the ground and rolled over to her stomach just in time to see the sword penetrate downwards against his shoulder.
Itama turned and looked at her, he mouthed at her to run and with tears streaking down her face she shook her head, though her eyes looked upwards at one of the Uchiha which was staring her way, clearly watching with red eyes to see what she would do, the others were clearly lining up to deal damage to Itama.
Saruyama didn't want to run, she really didn't, but she could find help and then there might be a chance to rescue him, so she did. She jumped up and ran, aware to footsteps behind her as she did so. She didn't care if she was being followed, she had a plan in mind and she was going through with it, even if a small voice in her head was telling her it was too late; no matter her plan, no matter who she found, the chances are that she wasn't going to see her brother again, alive at least.
The impact sound from behind her had her focussing forwards, Saruyama hadn't ever been so happy to see Hashirama before. The group he was with easily managed to deal with the Uchiha that were chasing her, but Saruyama's attention was solely on her older brother. Hashirama seemed to know, from looking her over, he knew and placed his hands on her shoulders and looked the way she came, distantly she was left with some of the Senju that were with Hashirama, she tilted her head though when even from the small distance she was at, she could hear her brother's agonised cries, and in that moment the world became muted, vision became blurry and shadowed and Saruyama's breathing turned erratic before her legs simply couldn't hold her up anymore, and the world turned black and her body crumbled to the ground.
