chapter ten

The others just watched as Alice took in Beverly's embrace. "You guys need to come up to my place."  Beverly finally pulled away, pointing to the stairs she'd just come from.

"W-what happened?" Bill asked. "I can't explain, you just need to see it. Someone needs to stay though, watch for my dad because if he comes back and sees a bunch of guys in my house, he'd flip." Beverly said.

"R-richie." Bill voted as the others all descended up the stairs. Bill followed right behind Beverly, Ben right behind them and Eddie following suit. Stan was in front of Alice, who was last.

"Wait what am I supposed to do if her dad comes back?!" Richie asked, his hands on his handlebars.

Stan abruptly stopped in front of Alice, turning to face Richie's direction. "Do what you always do, start talking!" He said, before looking down to see Alice looking at him.

"I mean, it is a gift." Richie mumbled, looking down as he rested himself as comfortably as he could on his bike.

Alice and Stan looked at each other for a good ten seconds before Stanley finally smiled at her. "What?" He asked, and she just shook her head, motioning for him to go up.

They got inside, seeing the others crowded in front of a room- glowing a light red. As Alice and Stan approached, Alice couldn't help but gag- just like Eddie was. The entire bathroom was filled from top to bottom with thick, dark blood, and it made Alice want to faint.

"Can you guys see this?" Beverly asked. "Yes." Alice replied. Bill looked around the room, before turning his head to the others. "W-we can't leave it like this." He said, before Beverly walked away, to get some cleaning supplies.

Bill made eye contact with Alice, who just looked down. She wasn't necessarily mad at him, she was just upset. I mean, she cuddled with him last night, and made it very obvious that she likes him, but from the moment they've gotten here he's only paid attention to Beverly.

Well yeah, Beverly had something going on but he just left her, didn't even walk with her. Just walked with Beverly and has stayed by her side since they've gotten there.

She doesn't blame him though. Beverly's beautiful. She'd like her, too.

They spent the next hour or so cleaning the bathroom, scrubbing as hard as they could. Alice looked over, noticing Eddie cleaning while holding his inhaler in his mouth. She giggled, catching his, Bill's and Stan's attention.

Eddie's face heated up, taking the inhaler out of his mouth and putting it back into his fanny pack. Stan smiled, admiring the young girl while Bill just looked sadly at her, wondering why she was being distant away from him.

Soon enough they'd gotten pretty much all of the blood cleaned, and the others started exiting the bathroom, Alice being the last besides Bill and Beverly.

She stood right outside the bathroom, leaning her back against the wall. Alice watched as Ben looked at her room, before turning and starting to head back to finish taking the trash out. He stopped, looking into the bathroom.

Ben likes Beverly.

Alice made sad eyes at him, him smiling gently at her before finishing his way downstairs to take the trash out.

"You know the rumors aren't true right? The one's about me." Alice listened to Beverly's smooth voice. "I know, I figured they weren't." She heard Bill reply. "I've only kissed one boy, in a school play. He wasn't so bad either." She said to him, and Alice immediately remembered the play that both Beverly and Bill had been in.

They kissed in that play.

Alice's breath haltered. "Yeah, same here. I've only kissed one girl." She immediately knew it was Beverly, obviously. Alice didn't bother listening to anything else, she just wanted to go home.

At this point she didn't care if she felt uneasy at home in her own bed, she just wanted to be away from the two people in the bathroom. She ran away from the bathroom, and out of the building, almost tripping as she made her way quickly down the stairs.

Stan was the first to notice her, and before he could ask her what was wrong she ran into his arms, burying her head into his chest.

"What the fuck happened to her?" She heard Richie ask, but just ignored it as she tried her hardest not to cry. She could've sworn Bill had actually liked her back. But maybe she was wrong, really wrong.

Stan just stood there, hugging her. Eddie frowned, not liking to see the girl upset. She was his height, just as small as him.

"I want to go home." Alice mumbled, as Eddie made his way over to the two, wrapping his arms around Stan and Alice.

"I need to get in on this shit." Richie dropped his bike, walking over and hugging the left of Alice, between Eddie and Stanley.

Ben just looked at the girl being embraced by the boys, slowly making his way over there as well. He knew what was wrong with her- he saw the way she was around Bill. It was the same way he felt about Beverly. It was the same feeling he had. He saw the look in her eyes as he passed her in the hallway, listening to their conversation.

"Thanks guys." She finally said, starting to break away from the hug. She didn't want Bill or Beverly to come out here and see her upset, that's the last thing she needed at the moment.

Stan kept an arm around her shoulders, wanting to continue comforting the girl because even though she put on a fake smile- he knew it wasn't real. He knew there was something bugging her. And he knew exactly what it was the moment that Bill and Beverly came out of her building, laughing and faces a deep red.

"You're riding on my bike." Stan simply told the girl, as Bill noticed Stan remove his arm from the girl's shoulders to pick his bike up.

Stanley didn't have pegs, so he put one leg over before helping her onto the handlebars. Bill watched all of this, his face falling and eyebrows furrowing.

The losers got onto their bike's starting to bike until Eddie noticed Belch's car. "We should probably get out of here, we don't want trouble."

"But wait-" Alice stopped herself, jumping off of Stan's bike. He tried to grab onto her so she wouldn't hurt herself, but didn't grab her before she got off. Luckily she didn't hurt herself, and made her way towards the bike laying in the grass. "This is Mike's bike. The new kid."

Before anyone could say anything she ran her way into the direction of where they were. "Well fuck." Richie said.

Stanley jumped off of his bike, putting his kickstand down before following her and the others followed behind him.

"Hey, fucker!" Alice yelled, angrier than she normally would be. She was angry that Henry was picking on yet another person, she was angry Bill liked Beverly and that she wasn't good enough.

"A-alice?" Henry asked, dropping the rock he was about to smash Mike's head with. "I'm so tired of being nice to you Henry! You don't deserve it!" She yelled from across the water, "You pick on everyone and they don't even deserve it!"

She splashed across the water, not caring that her shoes were getting soaked. She walked over to the three boys taunting the other, looking sadly down at Mike. "Are you okay-"

Before Alice could finish her sentence, Henry had his two friends grab either arm. "I don't know why you're bothering to stop me- I won't stop. You're lucky I haven't been like this to you too, sweet cheeks." He rubbed his thumb along her cheek as she tried to get out of their grip.

Henry was suddenly hit by a rock, it hit his leg but was enough to get his attention off of Alice. Beverly stood there, another rock in her other hand.

"You know you guys are trying too hard. Just ask her to do you and she will. I mean I did." Henry smirked, which earned a loud yell from Ben as he bent down, picking a rock up and chucking it at him.

"You fuck face!" Henry yelled, rubbing his arm. He turned, grabbing onto Alice as she motioned at Mike to get away from the boys. Henry held Alice in front of him as a shield, which pissed not only Bill off, but Stanley and Eddie also. Well, it pissed all of them off, but not as much as those three.

"Alice no!" Eddie screamed angrily, splashing forward in the water. He grabbed a rock and hit Henry in the head, causing him to push Alice in front of him. She fell, rolling into the water and Stanley ran over to her, helping her out and to their side.

"Stay behind me okay." Stanley rubbed the wet hair out of her face before turning and grabbing giant rocks.

"ROCK WAR!" Richie yelled, before he got hit in the head with a medium sized rock. The others continued throwing rocks at the three boys on the other side of the water, as Alice sat down, looking at her swollen ankle.

When she'd been pushed, her foot got caught between two rocks and when she rolled it came out, which gave her an obvious sprain. It didn't look broken and she could still move it, which was good, but it hurt like a bitch and it was already swelling up and bruising.

Soon enough the other two boys in Henry's friend group ran away, and Henry was laying on the ground, clearly in pain.

Stan turned, looking at her ankle. "Eddie do you happen to have any like ace bandages?" He asked, turning to Eddie. "I might be able to get one from my house. Why?" Eddie walked up to the two. He was soaked, probably from splashing around in the water from the rock war.

"Oh shit." Eddie said, "yeah I'll get some definitely." He stood up, and Stan stood up, bending over and picking Alice up. They made their way to their bikes, the others following behind also.

"GO BLOW YOUR DAD YOU MULLET WEARING ASSHOLE!" Richie stayed behind the others to yell, before flipping Henry off with both middle fingers and turning, running toward his friends.

"I have to get them from my house, I know we have some in there." Eddie made sure his fanny pack was zipped, "Cause I don't have any with me."

"Alright. Someone help me get her on my handlebars." Stan said, and Mike walked over, lifting Alice onto the front of Stan's bike.

"Thank you for saving me back there. He's definitely going to be after you guys too now, though." Mike said, before taking a look at Alice's ankle. "Luckily it's not broken."

"He's always been after us." Eddie said, pedaling to meet up with Stanley.

"I g-guess that's one thing th-that we all have in common." Bill said, getting on his bike.

"Except for Alice. She probably will now though." Richie said, as Stan reached forward, brushing grass off of the back of her shirt.

"We should get that wrapped up though, before it gets too bad." Eddie said, "You guys don't even know how much shit could happen if that gets infected and-"

"Eddie shut up." Bill said, irritated. Not because Eddie was talking about Alice getting infected, but because of how close Stan and Alice were getting. He didn't know what he did, but it was really bugging him that she wouldn't acknowledge him, talk to him, or even make eye contact with him.

"Then let's get Alice fixed. We'll meet up and hangout with you guys tomorrow, alright?" Stan said, turning to the others. They all nodded, and Bill watched as Stan, Alice and Eddie rode off, going to fix her ankle then do who knows what else.
